@@agentstone4249 Spoilers. Okay, this should be low enough. 1. It's revealed that Aki and Mai, the two twin girls in the other Mikage-Cho, are actually different aspects of Maki; Mai is Maki's fear while Aki is her anger. The reason Aki's so powerful is because Maki had more hatred for everything and everyone who got live their lives while she was confined to a hospital room. Her hatred was so strong, she wished for Mikage-Cho to disappear and by coincidence, her mind synced up to the DEVA system SEBEC made during a test run. During this time, she started having dreams of a father figure, who was actually Kandori, the CEO of SEBEC. Something even tells me those dreams were from Aki's perspective, since only she referred to Kandori as "Daddy." 2. The darkness in Maki's heart and mind. The DEVA system had the power to turn one's subconscious into a tangible pocket dimension of sorts. Pandora, a creature deep with Maki's subconscious, is a physical amalgamation of Maki's worse traits and could be who said "It's so dark in here." It was locked away in the deepest part of her mind, left to fester in its own loathing and anger. 3. Kandori AND Maki wanted the same thing - The complete destruction of the world around them, albeit for different reason. Kandori wanted the destroy humanity after realizing he no longer had a meaning to life, a reason to keep living. Afraid of dealing with this realization by himself, he forced the world to adopt the same ideal. Maki, however, wish for destruction due to envy towards everyone outside the hospital; they get to go home, have the time of their lives, go to school and have fun. But she's been stuck in a hospital for as long as she can remember.....And she HATES the world for that. 4. Yes and no. We, as humans, do surrender ourselves to our emotions and frivolous desires. But everyone has their OWN meaning in life. And even there ISN'T meaning in life, that's no excuse to rob other humans of their lives. Kandori's just trying to project his own nihilism onto the world....And almost succeeded. Take EVERYTHING I said with a grain of salt, I could very well be wrong. But hopefully, I managed to give you satisfying answers.
Deva Yuga is at the Japan, but its name means "Golden Age" in Hindi. The architectural style is reminiscent of Borobudur but with Mesopotamian paintings above the limestone walls. The boss is Nyarlathotep, the creator of the unconscious world, the faceless caesor who devours the negative feeling of humankind, and he has possesses with Kandori and show the form of "Mahavairocana(Esoteric buddism's universe master)". Chimera🤔
"If you blended cynicism with fatigue, affectation with caprice, and nihilism with an excess of talent, you'd probably end up with a man like this." ~ Tatsuya Suou, upon meeting the guy in EP PSP.

It’s an endless labor of the soul and every cross that we bear Goes by the name of karma no one can escape it. We surrender our bodies to fleeting pleasures to try to forget, but eternal dao still remains. Shimmering deep in our souls, maiden(?) continues crying master(?)
Before he says “Why are we born? Why are Alive?” He says, “Human life is full of confusion”. I also think instead of saying “…all used to transcend life” he is saying “who needs such distractions in life”
I think at the beginning around the thirty second part, kandori asks "what are you living for? Where do people come from, and where are they going? Its hard to make out but a bit before the 2:2O mark, someone might say something about illusions. After both times Maki cries out about being cold and alone, Kandori tells her that they are the same. And the end bit might be master make your argument? Or maybe bring your argument
What are you living for? Where do people come from and where are they going? What are you living for? I don't know. Me neither. Tell me. Tell me. There's no meaning. I want to change. That's a waste of time. I can't change... There's no meaning in life, you should know that. I don't want to be alone! Someone get me out of here! It's so dark in here! You and I are the same. Grief and joy, anger and sadness... it's all an illusion. Who needs such transience in life? That's why I'm going to... The past, the present, the future... they're but a glittering dream, holding nothing to me. That's why I'm going to... Being alive is a mere illusion. Why are we born? Why are we even alive? No one has the answers. It's an endless labyrinth for the soul. The heavy cross that we bear goes by the name of 'karma'. No one can escape it. We surrender our bodies to fleeting pleasures and try to forget, but the eternal doubt still remains, shimmering deep in our souls. Maiden, continue crying. Master, bring your argument. The past, the present, the future... they're but a glittering dream, holding nothing for me. That's why I'm going to... That's why I'm going to...
*_SPOILER TO P1'S SEBEC QUEST_* This is a conversation between the SEBEC route's Maki Sonomura and Takahisa Kandori. Their talk shows their isolation and nihilism. *Kandori:* What are you living for? Where do people come from? Where are they going? *Maki:* What are you living for? *Kandori:* ...I don't know. *Maki:* Me neither... *Kandori:* Tell me! *Maki:* Tell me! *Kandori:* There is no meaning. *Maki:* I want to change. *Kandori* That's a waste of time. *Maki:* I can't change... *Kandori:* There's no meaning in life. You should know that. *Maki:* I don't wanna be alone! Someone get me out of here! It's so dark in here... *Kandori:* You and I are the same. *Maki:* The past, the present, the future. They're but a glittering dream holding nothing for me. That's why, I am going to- *Kandori:* Grief and joy, anger and sadness. It’s all an illusion. Who needs such a transient life? That's why, I am going to- *Kandori:* Being alive is an eternal illusion. Why're we born? Why are we alive? No one has the answers. It's an endless labyrinth for the soul. The heavy cross that we bear goes by the name of "karma". No one can escape it. We surrender our bodies to fleeting pleasures and try to forget, but eternal doubt still remains, shimmering deep in our souls. Maiden, continue crying. Master, ring out your lament. Thou art human beings, who have partaken of the forbidden fruit. For that time spent with you, is sin. ● Kandori and Maki's Superego Mai both ask you the question "What are you living for?" late in the game (Deva Yuga and the Lost Forest respectively), with the protagonist's responses being either "I don't really know." and "To find my reason." ● Maki bringing up the past, present and future is tied to the last three Persona who are associated with her; the three Norns Urd, Verdandi (Ultimate Persona) and Skuld (Final Persona) are the Norse personifications of past, present and the future. ● "You and I are the same" is an obvious spin of "I am thou, thou art I" (or "Thou art I, I am thou") which the Persona always say when they awaken. ● Kandori's flavor of referencing Abrahamic and Buddhist concepts (heavy cross, karma, forbidden fruit, sin) is very in-character to his speeches in the game.
-What are you living for? Where do people come from and where are they going? -_boi why are you asking a chronically ill girl alla these hard questions?_ -I don't know. -Me neither. -... -... -Tell me. -*inhales* *_B O I_* And that, kids, is how Pandora was summoned.
@@agentstone4249 "You only live once. Enjoy it!" That's what Loki in Devil Survivor said. I know he's not exactly a role model, but i dunno... words just seem compelling. Do what you want, just within REASONable limits of different laws (human, nature, etc (in case ya know any other, course)).
@@agentstone4249 there is no simple answer to this question. And different people will give you different answers, but they usually have a common line of sorts. Heck, i remember my whole class had to write an essay about the meaning of life and... well, i think it didn't change much for me since. That being "live to have fun with the freedom i got", if wasn't obvious. I've shortened it quite a ways, but what's important is that i won't try commiting not alive anymore. Heh. Life's not a videogame with pre determened final boss anyway, so upon reaching our goal we just set another one, which... i THINK is what St. Hermelin kids tell Kandori? And let's not forget that Kandori was possessed by a demon. People like that usually "get manipulated, twisted, broken", as Yakumo from SMT5 would say. And in case you want me to acknowledge the ugly side of humanity... well, best not to. It's not like i can become a messiah and purge the sinners... right? But that's more of a SMT topic rly.
