Ahh I had hoped you'd hear Mass Destruction before this one, if only for Lotus Juice's double reference lyric "Burn your dread, haha that's right. Baby baby baby we tight" as both a reference to Burn My Dread and Mass Destruction God I love this song lol

My favourite PQ2 battle theme, considering this OST has the 4 main artists of P3-5 it’s massively underrated. The singer of this track Mayumi Fujita is a great singer who herself is quite underrated.

Yeah she's great in every song I've heard her on. It's really sad that she only has a few songs on a psp rerelease version that not many people have played. I'm always disappointed when I see she's not going to be performing at the persona concerts. It would have been great if she was the main singer for a game.

@@iasar718 She seems to prefer being out of the spotlight. It would have been great to have her in the upcoming October Persona concert but sadly not. Edit: she actually said recently that she wasn’t able to be a part of the 25th anniversary concert due to looking after her child, but she still wants to perform Persona music in the future.

This track I literally stumbled into, as I never played the Persona Q, and its criminal this track isn't more well-known among the Persona community. This is also the rare modern Persona track not composed by Shoji Meguro, but by Atsushi Kitajoh. I wouldn't be shocked if that solo section you wanted to go on longer probably does during live performances. Also, Persona 3 Portable is the game that particular character originates from, and this is her battle theme in Persona Q 2.

To be fair at the time it was the most popular of the PQ2 songs before the channel it was most popular on was deleted sadly. It’s an amazing song and the best of the 4 PQ2 battle themes, which is funny since she’s the voice 90% of the community has prob not heard singing since 3, 4 and 5 are played a lot more than the psp port of P3… but I guess happily her game will be reported to Xbox and Switch instead of Persona 3 the answer (the original Re-release of the game, though it’s neat they are re-releasing the only option that lets you pick your gender

Persona Q2 is a spin-off title on one of the Nintendo systems that incorporate all of the main cast of Persona 3, 4 and 5 into one story. The on screen picture you see is a different game, Persona 3 Portable, and they put the female protagonist from it into the game so don't mind it too much, it's kinda just there to tell you who's music you're hearing. Persona Q and Q2 mix up the styles of music from each game together and it always sounds great. In the first game the music genre changed a bit depending on who you started the game with, I'm not sure how it is in Q2, but sounds like they mashed up the styles some more. Great osts in them!
@FF-tp7qs
@FF-tp7qs 2 года назад
PQ2 has more focus on the P5 cast, rather than giving a choice between protagonists It starts off with the protagonists somehow getting from Mementos into a superhero movie starring a hero named Kamoshida Man and a couple of the P5 cast members get taken prisoner

On that note I’d absolutely love for him to hear P3P tracks like Wiping All Out (After Mass Destruction of course) but man the exclusive tracks in P3P for female route are great too. Honestly pretty much on par with the original.
@TheMongral
@TheMongral 2 года назад
In PQ2 the music changes based on your settings. By default it picks P5’s battle theme, but once you meet FeMC it switches to shuffling between main battle themes (Her P3P theme here and P5’s), and you can also override this in the settings and have it shuffle between a wider variety of songs from the other games (IE: Early purchasers could get songs like Reach out to the truth, or Blooming Villain as free dlc initially and use them as additional battle themes). Considering the larger cast in this game, shuffling between each casts very in-theme battle track just makes sense. Thankfully they’re all fantastic tracks that wouldn’t be out of place in their characters games of origin and any love PQ2 can get is rightly deserved. As an aside, I hope someone requests “Nothing Is Promised” or one of the other Lotus Juice heavy tracks so he can get a real good example of just how good Lotus Juice is with his rapping. The man is crazy good at it, and that’s from someone who normally is kinda “ehhh…” on rap.

So just to clarify, Persona Q 2 is a cross-over between Persona 3,4,5 and the protag of Persona 3 portable (psp game), so they have different music depending on who you play with (what characters) there are songs that reflect the game they came from, so if you play with the P3P protag, a song resembling the style of Persona 3 Portable plays, these songs where never in the original mainline games, but they very well could be, as they imitate the style and use the same artists as the main games

So, the girl in the thumbnail is the female player character who is exclusive to the portable version of Persona 3, but was included in Persona Q2. The "gun" in her hand isn't a real gun, but an Evoker that the P3 characters use to summon their Personas

I love this track, its been on my mp3 player(along with most other persona tracks) ever since i discovered it and still makes me sing along with the lyrics. this song mainly is focused on the female MC of Persona 3 Portable with her invoker(the gunlike item she's holding) wich they use to summon their persona hence the title. Both PersonaQ games have some of the best songs out there, mainly becouse it contains the cast of multible persona games( P3 and 4 in 1, P3,4 and 5 in the second game) making for some very nice music. PersonaQ is a 3DS spin off series of persona where they bring the casts of the best known games of the series(who would normally never meet) together for a new adventure, becouse of the system requirements they decided to draw all the characters chibi form wich look adorable! I would recommend u look up the game via emulator, i did and they are so fun!

This theme here is for the P3P protagonist. :) All the battle themes are highly recommended.

All the battle tracks from Persona Q2 are very interesting. Each references their specific dungeon, as well as the theme of the game as a whole. Pull the Trigger is my personal favorite among them. As for letting a track enjoy breaks, as you put it... I'd say it heavily depends on where it is used. This one, for example, is a theme used during battles, which often don't take too long and are meant to be high-action scenarios. Having the song drag out with a lengthy solo section would actually have harmed it more than it would have helped. I have the same issue with some of the early modern Etrian Odyssey tracks, where they added in solo sections that just sound really poorly done. For a battle theme, you want to have something that's catchy and keeps flowing, exactly because you often won't hear a lot of it.

@HikaruOfTheWind 2 года назад
One thing that's interesting about PQ is that since it's Etrian Odyssey × Persona, some of the tracks are done in EO's style instead (eg F.O.E. and Friends from the first Q) Additionally, both F.O.E. and Friends have extended "outtakes" mixes that add in a bunch of solos that let those versions breathe more, as you're talking about here! (It's similar to the version of Hoist the Sword with Pride in the Heart that you listened to before.) The ingame versions instead just keep up the breathless energy, which I think is perfectly appropriate for gameplay, but it makes the Outtakes versions feel better out-of-game. So that might be something interesting to consider, that sometimes game composers will intentionally cut out breaks and solos to let the music serve a more background-y role. Not always! But this is a case where it definitely happened.
@HikaruOfTheWind
@HikaruOfTheWind 2 года назад
Also to note: I guess it's not really an "instead of" thing since Persona has some similar instrumental tracks as well, but the way the Outtakes versions are handled is very characteristic of EO, so I always think of that with them first lmao

I’ll love Q2 just for making FeMC canon character finally
@TheMongral
@TheMongral 2 года назад
I also love it because it actually helps play into my personal fan theory about why the FeMC was non-canon for so long. On top of it also being a fun, if relatively typical dungeon crawling game, definitely a good send off for the 3ds at least. (Theory TLDR: Her non-canon status was required for other lore/canon reasons. Specifically, so she could take the Male MC’s place without disrupting/ruining any alternate realities. Can’t ruin a reality if you don’t have a reality that “exists” to ruin. I’d need a lot more text to elaborate more but that’s the gist of it.)

@@TheMongral My theory is that FeMC was P3MC's sister that died in the car crash, in the female route of P3, FeMC was sitting in the other seat that day and P3MC died instead.
@TheMongral
@TheMongral 2 года назад
@@VainerCactus0 That’s Certainly a theory I can also get behind and support, easily. To elaborate on mine a bit more… Mine is a bit more of an overarching one spanning specifically Elizabeth’s actions over several games. The long + short of it being summarized thusly: “P3P is Elizabeth’s Answer to the Events of P3”. FeMC behaves similar to Elizabeth in terms of outward behaviours (while still fitting the p3 protagonist role), so the theory assumes “What if Elizabeth based her off herself?”. Theodore’s existence (as he originated from P3P) means the Velvet room, and by extension it’s residents, exist Outside of the Canon (which honestly makes sense, being the velvet room and all). Thus, someone who “Exists, but does not exist” can be the perfect way to release the MC’s spirit from his duty, while keeping a being powerful enough and selfless enough there to maintain things, without dooming an alternate timeline. Thusly, a Non-Canon FeMC is actually *required* to protect the rest of the Canon persona timelines. (This also is why P3P doesn’t need “The Answer” because it is not a necessary step in creating “FeMC”.) This is still a super stripped down version of my theory, but it’s much more detailed than my initial tldr. It’s kinda out there, but I’d like to think Atlus has a reason for keeping the FeMC non-canon for as long as they did.
@butterflydreamer9649
@butterflydreamer9649 2 года назад
@@VainerCactus0 I’ve always seen the p3mc as a single child, since at the beginning of p3 they say only their parents died. They could’ve also changed it portable but they didn’t. And it also kinda screws up the story since the sister or brother are exactly the same person but with a slightly different personality. Oh yea also the fact that pq2 completely disproves what you said, since they say they are the same person in different realities and they don’t immediately go “Is that you brother/sister?”
@BARALover96

Persona Q series is basically crossover game. Crossover in Q2 is P3, P3P, P4 and P5. Persona 3 Portable was a version of P3 where there is a route where you play as a female protagonist. She is the first Blank Name female protagonist of the entire franchise. Anywyas she does crossover in this game a long with her male counterpart. Each game cast got their own battle song. And she got her own song(similar to P3P where some songs where replaced with new songs for her character)
