Running a river for the first time is a magical experience. I have found nothing outside the construct of extreme sport that compares to the way a first run on a river does. Even more so, a river that is a level up in a paddlers progression. While kayaking Wilson Creek Gorge is nothing new to me, it just never gets old. Another thing that never gets old is taking folks down a river and watching their eyes take it all in for the first time. Running a river for the first time is a magical experience. Even more so, is running a river that is a level up in a paddlers progression. Wilson Creek is one of those southeast classic rivers that I consider to be a gateway to the magical world of Creeking and class 4 kayaking.
