When a customer orders t-shirt from Etsy how does the order know to show up in others on Printify since the Etsy listing isn’t linked to Printify? Did I miss something here?
If Printify is listed as a production partner within your Etsy shop (its one of the first steps when you sign up for Printify and sync it to Etsy) then it will show up in the others tab. If you haven’t done it and need help, my free course in the description shows how to do it 🙃

If you have Printify synced to your Etsy shop, then the order will appear in the “other orders” tab if the listing is not published. The customers info will all be in there all you’ll have to do is add the product.
I have a similar question: I already added personalized listings, which have SKU numbers populated by Printify. I don't have my shop on automatic, so I go in and approve every sale. But, I much prefer your way! So my question, if I go into my existing customizable listings on Etsy and delete all the SKUs, will the sales then just go to my "Other Orders" tab since there's no SKU associated with them? @@JennyFromTheShopp

Thank you for this walkthrough- I noticed on some older listings there is an option for QUANTITY, but I am trying to make couple's shirts and there does not seem to be an option for quantity...so would the customer create their order and add it to the cart twice with each name on it?
Nice video, I’m new to POD and have a question please. How does Printify track your sale on Etsy when you never published your listing on Printify in the first place?
As long as your ship is synced up properly to Printify then every order will be received on Printify’s end. For personalized listings, since the listing is not synched up to Printify, when you receive an order, it will be in your “other orders” tab within Printify. I hope that makes sense!
Quick question, I followed all these steps, but when I clicked on orders that are currently being processed and sent to production the image attached to them is an image of the most recent change I did on the item. Is that normal or is it printing the same thing on each order every time I change it?

Hi Jenny! Thanks for this informative video. Just a question: If you don't publish the design from Printify, and you don't add SKU numbers to the variations in the Etsy listing, then what is the connection between the Etsy listing and the Printify design in this case? Another thing is that do you need to create a Printify design in the beginning at all, or is it enough to do it when there's an actual order coming in?
You have to have Printify listed as a production partner for your shop- it is within your Etsy settings- if the two are synced properly, then you will still receive the order within Printify as well, the product will just have to be added manually to to order. (Kind of confusing to explain, sorry) And for your second question- you do not have to add the design in Printify first, if you’d like, you can just put the listing on Etsy, and manually add it in Printify if an order comes in. I like to do it in Printify first though, so that when orders come in, it is as passive as possible for me. But either way is fine! 🙃

Now I’m ready to start personalized my listings and open my shop. I have one question that I can’t get it. On Canva when I make the design I can highlight and erase any words, but after I download it as PNG and go to erase I cannot, the same thing when I download from creative Fabrica. How do you erase it . Can you please explain it for me. Thank you sooo much ! 😊
Hi! That is strange, I got a few other comments mentioning the same. I have never had an issue. I just always make sure it is a png file. I create my own canvas on Canva 5000 x 5000 transparent background. I hope that helps! I will ask around and see if I can figure out why you are having that problem. Thanks for your kind words!
Hi, this is one of the best videos I've come across for doing personalized listings. I'm brand new (like just a week in) and starting off with personalized ornaments. I have approx 50 listings up on Etsy and getting views and items favorited and I know it's a matter of time - soon - I'll get my first sale. I have 2 questions - 1. When you get an order and go into Printify and edit design - you delete it then upload the new one with the customer's personalization? The other videos I've seen have you making a copy of your design so a bit confused there. 2. As I have more personalized listings in Etsy isn't it going to be very difficult to fulfill an order having to look through and find the one you need to change out? Is there any type of search or organization you can do in there? Also I may be doing the personalized t-shirts next but am really confused about how you go about offering different color t-shirts. I get the variation thing for the sizes but unsure how to go about colors and how that all works when you get an order to make sure the customer gets the right one. Do you have to upload (and save as draft) your t-shirt design for each individual color in Printify? Sorry so long and so many questions.
Hi! Congrats on getting started. 1. I don't make a copy, I have never had an issue with just deleting the design and replacing with the new one each time. 2. I don't do a lot of personalization in my shops because of this reason - it does take a lot more time. I suggest being very organized with your designs. Name them well so you can search for them easily. 3. Add colors and size as one variation on your Etsy listing. - Within Printify, select all of the colors you would like within that listing so that you can just go to that listing and select the color easily and then switch out the design. Kind of hard to explain like this - illl try fitting it into a future video :)
@@JennyFromTheShopp thanks so much for your reply. I think because personalization obviously takes a lot more time I'll try my hand at non-personalized tshirts but still confused about that process. I feel like a baby who needs hand holding. LOL
@JennyFromTheShopp. Another question. I just got my first order, a personalized ornament but its not showing up in my other orders on printify. I began my listing in Etsy and left the sku blank, was I supposed to copy the sku from my product in printify? Is that why its not showing up, and if so I need manually send the ornament to my buyer and then go edit all my etsy listings and copy in the sku?

I realized later that the shirt I want to offer personalization is a design I personally created 1. had a vector image created from art object I made; 2. uploaded photo to Canva & touched it up; Unsure if this template is something that I can keep changing "names" as people custom order? Hadn't published it yet.. Do you know if that would work? Anyone please? Need help! Thanks! 🙂
ok so that's how people do custom orders, they don't publish it lol! I was like how the heck am I going to circumvent a sale and customize it. Custom is the "poo" now and I am trying to figure out how to do them for my mugs.

You can absolutely use Place-it! However my favorite mock-ups have always been from Etsy. I just go to the search and type in the brand and tshirt mock-up- so for example “Bella canvas 3001 tshirt mock-up” and a bunch will pop up for you. I personally love MoodyMocks mock-ups (I am in no affiliation with her I just really like her photos and they have worked for me 🤗) I hope this helps! 💜
I have a question....Let's say I was making a mug on Printify and I uploaded an image I made in canva but I want to use words I made on kittle also on the same mug...can I use two different uploads on the same mug...image I created in canva and a quote I made in kittle on the same mug??

Do you duplicate that template in Printify with each new order? I’m not sure how long that needs to stay in their system in order for it to be printed. Also, if it needs to be reprinted due to a misprint, their file needs to still be one of your products, correct? I keep duplicating my templates for personalized orders so they each have their own one. Thanks!
That is a great question. To be honest I’m not really sure- I have never had an issue with just using the same one- I think once you put the order through, you are good to do another one. I have never duplicated it. .. If you ever need a reprint I would make it be known when submitting the issue that you need it to be a specific png file - I would try to live chat with Printify - or you could submit the issue and ask for a refund- then manually put the order through again. The png file should still be within your library folder in Printify.
how do you edit the design you downloaded from creative Fabrica in canva. it won't let me change anything in the design. not sure what I'm doing wrong.
It is not in template format so you can’t really edit it- you have to erase parts of it manually (I like to use the magic eraser tool in canva) and then you can just add your own elements to the design or add text or change the colors
Whenever an order is placed on Etsy, how do you prevent Printify from printing the shirt right away? Do they always allow you to view and edit the order first before they print it? The last two steps in the video are what I need clarification on. Thanks
With personalized listings- the order will not be synced up in Printify yet. You will have to manually do that when the order comes in. The order will appear in the “other orders” tab and then you will be able to manually complete the order. Nothing will be able to go out without your approval first, with personalized orders. I hope that makes sense!
No stupid questions here! :) You don't want to publish a custom / personalized order from Printify because the wrong item would be synced to your customers custom order. You instead create your listing within Etsy. The actual listing will not be synced to Printify - however when you get an order (if your shop is properly set up to Printify) Then the order will appear in Printify in the "other orders" tab. You will then manually add their order. I hope that makes sense!
Informative tutorial. However, I prefer higher margin products like Cloaks, Hoodies, leggings. Everyone is showing tshirts and mugs. I also don't want to do that step of changing the name for every order. Is there a way for the supplier to do that or a personalised app to do that. Seems a lot of work if you are getting lots of orders.

That’s correct! You don’t want it to have the sku because then it will send them the wrong product. Without the sku, you will be able to go in an manually fulfill the personalization.
I'm having trouble going back into designs to edit them in Canva. 90% of the time they are un-editable. Am saving them wrong or should I be saving them as a template somehow??? This is a great tutorial. Curious if you offer proofs, I assume not since you said to double check spelling but wondering what your thought is. I am doing Christmas shirts and offering personalized but worried they won't respond quick enough if I offer a proof and with the Chrismas rush that could get stressful waiting to hear back.
I do not offer proofs-I have in the past and sometimes people don’t even respond so then you’re confused on what to do- if the error is on my side I reprint or refund- if the error is on their side, then unfortunately it’s on them- that’s why I mention in the personalization box for them to double check everything. I was too nice my first year and was out of pocket many times for the buyers mistake so I had to get strict with it. 🙃

What a terrible explanation. I have so many questions. Like, did you create a draft listing on Printtify, then create a DIFFERENT listing on Etsy? Don’t you want the listing from Printify to go to Etsy (because of the sku)? How does Printify know when a new order comes in (and the delivery address) if the listings aren’t linked? And the whole syncing part was the quickest footnote. Now I need to find another video that explains all this
