When it comes to travel there are many different models, makes and designs that one might choose to use along the way. These options just go to show that there is no one single way to van life or be a nomad. But we all have similar things we enjoy about our spaces. Amongst those everyone wants to close the door at the end of the night and feel like they are home. Today I will be sharing some of the ways I am able to convert my small NV200 space into a more home like feeling through little touches that go a long way!!

We love our birds!!! There is something wonderful about the sound of them.. so we have a couple of small feeders we put out during winter to help them find food when it is more sparse

This was a breath of fresh air! I tried putting up a rod to make it easier to hang storage - then realized that metal rod would rattle while I drove and represent a hazard. All that effort to learn "nope, it won't work." Such is the nature of van modifications. So... it was refreshing to see what you chose and how it's working.

Being in a van the one thing I learned is that your never finished truly LOL there are always going to be projects of some kind even if they are just tiny ones. In fact on this particular quick trip back to base camp I tried something that you’ll see an upcoming video and well let’s just say I like it but I’m kind of having to make some adjustments

Slowly but surely things change on the road and it all comes together. I just want to share what’s working for me so that others can see that it is possible even a tiny van even starting out with a new build it doesn’t have to be everything done all at once it can come together slowly over time

One idea for your curtain behind front seat: check out pet barrier screens. Many are adaptable for variety of vehicles. You might be able to attach metal screen to back of headrests. Then place curtain over metal frame. Worth a try!

I did look into those a bit but couldn’t find one that I really loved on the contour of my van because it’s a cargo van. I’m going to keep looking though because I still like the idea of this otherwise I have a few things that I’m also considering but for the time being it’s always going to be a? LOL

Thank you! I’m very happy with how everything finally turned out. I think that bringing my space to live in a way that really expresses who I am it’s something that I wanted to do and I like the feminine touch of the antique looking mirror and the bright colors and be fun but also the durability of the shelf in the long run. Super excited to have made these changes and be able to share them.

It is pretty organized now, but I have those shelves filled to the top currently so I don't have to go shopping as much...lol... but the nice thing is, I can do that and everything still has a place now!

I always love to keep a big hat on hand for sun but also because it "dresses" up an outfit with only one step... so I keep it, a flannel, one necklace and my smaller bag/purse always in case I need to look a bit more put together when I am traveling to a location

Absolutely it was starting to drive me a little bonkers not having it a bit more organized. I like to have order in my small space because there’s not a lot of it so it’s nice to be able to have everything in a space. Even though my shelf is pretty full right now it’s nice to know that I can Load it down and at the same time everything still be secure

I had been hesitant to purchase them as well because my windows or a different shape it took me two different tries to get the right window socks so I didn’t know if these would fit. But I saw this particular brand in Riley’s vehicle and it fit her SUV so I was hopeful. I ordered them and sure enough they work out great! I hope you enjoy them as well.

Absolutely over the last two years I’ve made many improvements and several changes and it has allowed me to really fill out the space and make it my own. But not only that it has allowed me to find the things that most effectively work in my space and also to streamline things.

I did get the little towels where you just need a bit of water to clean up. I got the pump water bottle and the ridge monkey that I'd been wanting ever since you had it on a video. Also got the cooling blanket that I think will really come in handy! These are all things that will work out great for my vanlife journey!

Absolutely! And I think what I like best about them is that you can adjust the colors so you can have something that is a bit more damn if you would like it or something that could even repel bugs because oranges tend to do that and they said a string light has an orange setting. So much diversity at one tiny inexpensive item

I was super pleased with finding these command hooks because they really did work extremely well and conceal into smaller spaces. I thought that I was going to have to use some thing a bit more bulky and I was hesitant to do so but seeing these I knew this was perfect so far so good they fit in the van for days not a single problem with moving things in and out of the shelf because they took away so tightly.

Your make the cutest changes. I absolutely love that mirror. It looks vintage and I’m all about vintage. That shelf and curtains is the perfect touch. I have a kia suv and im about to start weekend traveling in about a month or so. I have to let me toe heal first. Because apparently im acting my dreams out now and unfortunately I slept at the foot of my bed and during my dream i kicked at a bull that was chasing me and i kicked my bed side table. In addition to that just a daily function of what I do in the van to make it work for me while traveling since it is such a small space. My goal is always to share those kinds of things so people could envision that there is in fact more than one way to travel and that was a little creativity you can do great things on a small budget

Because of the contour of the ceiling if I were to put up a curtain rod it wouldn’t go fully to the top. I did consider that however

@@BunnyPlaysHere 🤔 Unless you need them to slide, you can do a 2 set system.. 1 rod on top, and 1 behind the seats. Even get one manufactured to follow the ceiling, with curtains that might just slide in the middle part, but be fastened to the rest of the rod.. 😅

You can use pvc pipe in an arch/square so it rests flush to the top and falls at 90 degree angle

Love the upgrades! Practical, and homey! I prefer earth tones and darker blues (royal or navy blue maybe); but the teal is more colorful, and better suits your bright and sunny personality, and I am sure you probably have a pair or two of colorful sun glasses to match! I started out with darker colors in my van because I wanted it to be more stealthy when I opened up the doors but I quickly realize that in the tiny space that I have but it felt almost like a cave. It felt very tight and compact and it also made it seem smaller. I’ve always been a bright colorful person so I decided just to go for it and to complement the white I added the turquoise which is very much so on par with my personality LOL I love to see the contrast however between mine and lady bug outs vans because she has the neutral earthy tones and it feels just like such a Zen space. It really is one of those things that no matter what you do as long as you make it your own it can be a wonderful experience!

Thank you! I’m really loving the finishing touches it’s bringing everything together and making it feel more comfortable for my year of travel ahead. I have so many activities planned so I knew that I really needed something that would be efficient that I wouldn’t be moving around constantly and this provides just the right amount of organization so I feel like it is perfect.

I am super pleased with how it turned out and already I’m using it to organize my things a bit more as I go down the road. It’s super nice to be able to just get in the back of the van and settle in instead of having to adjust so many things from driving mode to function mode. Now I only have one battery that Hass to sit on the ground and that’s some thing that I don’t mind doing.

I love all the little bunny references on this day. Not to mention this is the best time of the year to go to the store and find funny Murch for myself LOL so I can see both sides of the coin on that one but I appreciate the happy Easter and I hope that you have a safe one!

Nice adds and I also put some of my photos up in the camper, but magnets won't work because of insulation also it isn't a metal shell. Its fun getting it to feel like your personal space. Enjoy the changes and of course always have a great time! I sure could use those plate holders since that spot is the step down for me and I have caught my ankle on the plate not fun.

I absolutely agree. Even though sometimes we each have to do a little bit differently having those little pieces of who we are in our space just makes you feel more at home

Very happy with all of the upgrades and changes. So far so good everything is working out amazingly and I’m very impressed because not only is the shelf super secured it doesn’t rattle but also it’s allowing me to do a few things that I didn’t even expect it to do. Super happy

@@BunnyPlaysHere Yep - I particularly like how those fabric containers fit the depth and length of the shelves exactly - no waste!d space, no sliding around!! As for wanting lids/covers for the cubes, what about just placing hand or tea towels over the top of each one?

I have always been a person who has gravitated toward blue when it comes to my favorite colors. Turquoise being a subset of that just naturally fits and it brightens up the appearance of the interior. It’s such a small space that’s very important it as a sense of vibrant and happiness instead of the darker colors which sometimes weigh it down

I had those window curtains when I was in my car and I love them but now I have a Ford Transit and my windows are huge and I can't find anything to fit them. I only used the curtains at night though because the black can still made it pretty hot inside. The refelectix doesn't let any breeze through, which I want. Yeah those magnets are no joke. Got mine at Harbor Freight and it's so strong, I cant get it off! lol

The ones that I currently have are an XL version and they are a bit bigger however I know what you’re talking about I just looked at a Dodge sprinter window in comparison and it is much longer and so it wouldn’t work for those however I have noticed with a lot of the bigger vehicles that people are not using the accordion style and I rather making custom fit window covers.

Love command hooks all shapes and sizes. I use two on my front door with a dowl rod to hang a curtain works great. I love what your doing Bunny. Thanks for sharing

I had initially thought that that would work for me as well but the contour of the van simply did not allow it to cover enough of the light bleeds. I like it to be completely dark in the van so that no one even knows that I might be back there so I went with this curtain modification. I’m currently trying out a few other things also and well you’ll see what I’m talking about an upcoming video LOL

You are rockin’! I am looking into a curtain behind my front seats. I’m liking the thought of string/cord as an option. Flexibility and cost. I found corrugated black plastic to put on my windows for night privacy. It’s $5 a sheet, yet will last longer than foam core. The joys of minivan windows. I love all the small yet feel good things you have done. That shelf is awesome in so many ways. Always enjoy your videos! Happy trails and stay safe! ❤️✌🏼😎👍🏼

That is something that I had contemplated doing as well however it needs some support in the middle with most black out curtains because they do start to sag a bit which is why I don’t have that currently. I have looked into Velcro curtains I have also looked into a track sell curtain and there are so many different options and I’ve had so many pros and cons with each one. I’m still looking into a better track solution because I saw someone who had one when I was in court site and I really loved it but because there are so many different versions finding the correct one is key.

I had really looked into several different options when I found the license plate holder. I had noticed so many dinged up and dented license plate and I thought oh no I don’t want mine to look like that so I finally explored some options and by just putting a backing on it it makes it a bit more stable so I went with it and it adds a little pop of black around it that also kind of ties in some of the other accidents which is kind of neat also but more so I feel more secure that I’m protecting my license plate

So many wonderful things!! Nice to redo and refresh. I finally found a van I was hoping to find. Needs some work but that’s ok. I’ll be glad I’m done with repairs so I can fix it up …. It is a 99 Dodge Roadtrek 190p. Will work for me and my pup. Keep doing fun stuff and always look forward to your video!! Hugs

I purchased this unit from a company called American van I was very pleased with the rapid shipping of the product and the delivery as a whole. The experience was very nice and assembling it wasn’t terrible thank goodness for dad’s!

I might look into that in the future I’m just more so than anything trying to make sure that I enjoy them how they are currently. It’s a pretty snug fit with three of them so I do not know that the lids would fit without creating some issues so for the time being as long as everything is secure I am happy

I do believe I placed it in the description of the video. And after driving through all of the insane bags of West Texas and New Mexico I can honestly say that I think that in some of the cases where I ran through droves of grasshoppers it might have saved my front plate. At one point in time I could see the bugs jump off the road and it was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen and it sounded like they all hit at the same time without a plate cover I’m almost positive that they could’ve bent it LOL

I just went in and added it to the description of the video. For some reason the links before did not post so I went in and made sure that they are there now. I want everyone to have access to this because it’s absolutely amazing. Initially I had seen these in Riley’s vehicle and I knew that these were perfect solution for mine as well after determining that they fit the windows.

Because of the curtain the windshield cover and the side windows I am pretty much good I don’t see any light leaks whatsoever. Which is nice because I have some super crazy colored lights in the back the front window I just use a dickies shade that I picked up at Walmart it isn’t the best solution but it isn’t the worst. Tried several different options and so far this is the favorite one that I have.

It is just a bit shy of a twin size bed. And it has a custom corner cut so that it fits more securely into the van with all of the different bends within

I think the shelving was a really good investment they will last you for a very long time! Do you plan on ever getting solar and an electric system?

I think that it will last a much longer time than a traditional cabinet well as well where in tear on metal is much different than the where in tear on wood. Not to mention it’s going to allow me Two place items on it that will make life a little bit easier while traveling. And I can secure everything so I don’t have to take things on and off the shelf to put them in driving mode. As for solar and electrical system I am not yet sure as to when that will happen I do have a solar panel which in the future I would like to put in the van to at least charge my batteries while I’m driving.

I have a Prius and would like to put a curtain up behind the front seats but it would block the heat/air conditioning from getting to the back. Any suggestions?

I have used a Knogo before which actually pipes the air toward the back behind the curtain or another thing that you might want to do is not close your curtains until night time or elevated so that the Aircon push through and cool the space in the back before you’re ready to slip inside to sleep

I think that would become a little overwhelming in the space so when I do painted eventually I will likely paint it white so that it matches the bed and also the other shelf that I have I think this would be a more neutral pallet also if I do decide to ever change out my finishes such as my linens or my baskets that gives me an opportunity to make changes Down the road if I see that I need to or if I do need to for example something happens to my blanket I canal change it out with a different one and not feel as though I have to repaint everything.

I previously did have some and I didn’t love them. With my current configuration where I crack my window at night they aren’t as effective and often times would block the very air that I’m trying to push through the van for ventilation. I had a couple of other reasons why I didn’t love them as well but found needs to be a much better option overall. I do have more of a reflective style front cover but the side covers I have chosen bees instead which I feel work way better for my personal taste

I have a 6 gallon water tank that fits in the back by the rear door. I have a pop out table in the back that allows me to cook outside on my butane stove.
