In this video, I build another special signal gantry for the layout, try out my new class 20 and have a running session. A lot of stock had been temporarily removed from the layout and was in boxes ready for our club visit to the Preston Model Railway Show. It was a great weekend. Thanks to all the folks at Preston Model Railway Club who made it a success.

Very impressive scratch built gantry. And the station immediately reminds me of Perth.

You don’t do things by halves Hugh! Great work on the gantry, nicely explained. Always worth watching the Britannia in action. Thanks for updating and sharing your wonderful layout. ATB Darren

The gantry is a gem, well done, very convincing. Don’t you just love train controller, you couldn’t get this much action manually. Thanks for sharing, I’m planning to go back to your earlier episodes to refresh the whole layout and control thing again. Very best regards PS love the running sessions

It's great to see your lay-out with your latest addition going around it. Always a pleasure to see. I see the Semaphore signalling from Hilton Junction to Stirling has been replaced with the new 4-apect light signals, so your last signal getting put in is a fitting moment. I missed you at the Glasgow Show but we probably passed each other somewhere.(I forgot that the HST's were doing the limited stopper Trains from Glasgow-Aberdeen. Nice surprise) Thanks again for your post. Much enjoyed. Cheers!

Many thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. I was at Glasgow Friday and Sunday. Had Sat off! Still some semaphores left in the intermediate boxes north of Dunblane so a wee bit to go before all semaphores removed. Thanks again. Hugh

The signal gantry is excellent Hugh, it’s amazing with what you make with the styrene products! Fantastic running session too, so much going on, and the class 20 looks really good, some nice detailing on that loco. Cheers for now, John

Very nice indeed Hugh.. and I appreciate the historical background and function of the real signals. 👍👍 ( …. I’ll let you off with the Miniature Yellows..😉 )!

Thanks Gary. Yeah……maybe if I’d thought more at the planning stage I could have incorporated the miniature yellows. Glad you appreciated the background to the signals. I knew you would understand it even if no one else did. 😉

That's such a great looking signal gantry. You make it look so easy to build. I have one of the tablet catchers 20s on order, and have photos of them on the Highland Main Line to boot.

Love your layout. the quality pf the running over the point work is brilliant. Nice 20, but you could do with another! You are also a man after my own heart only running the right engines on the right trains in the right location. I do likewise but i cannot restrict myself to one region. Unfortunately I am not DCC ( a bit difficult with over 300 locos) and the time I' ve been collecting. Basically I'm too old now! However there is one advantage as far as Perth is concerned I saw the actual thing in 65-66. Great times! Doug (dougsmodelrailway)
