I didn't watch the game but since they are a small footballing nation and it's the first time they have been at a world cup for many years, I too hope they get a win.
Yes we played really poorly and still won. And we usually don’t long ball THAT much (I think that was mostly because of the height differential) but if you reckon that we are an awful side and that game was our true face then I feel you’re awfully mistaken. Hopefully we will prove these old farts wrong with better games against Australia and France, but oh boy was that a frustrating game to watch as a Dane. Well done to Peru though, I’m sure they will give France some trouble. They play lovely football.

Det er lidt synd når vi ikke er så dårlige i opspillet som folk nok tror udfra den kamp. Sad sku også lidt for dybt til sidst. På den måde kunne jeg nok bedre lide Olsens måde at spille på, selv hvis Åges måde er mere effektivt. Men Praise Kasper og de 3 point. Forhåbentligt kan vi spille både attraktivt og effektivt fodbold næste gang :)
vi var godt nok heldige med at vinde. vi stod alt for dybt og gav Peru masser af plads på kanterne til deres hurtige små spillere. men 3 point er 3 point og vinder vi over Australien er vi så godt som videre, men vi skal forbedre os kraftigt ellers kan vi også få store problemer mod dem

You can just hear how salty some of them are about being knocked out by Denmark... Denmark is unbeaten for 16 games straight - that includes matches against Poland, Mexico, Peru, Sweden, Chile, Ireland etc... Surely Denmark would lack quality without Eriksen but so would Portugal without Ronaldo, Argentina without Messi, England without Kane etc... Point is that Denmark is a decent team - also without Eriksen. Schmeichel is a great GK and saved Denmark today - not Eriksen. Christensen is a very talented CB and could very well be a future Chelsea captain in the making. Kjær is the best defender for Seville which is one of the best teams in Spain. Delaney just signed for Dortmund after having played very well for Werder Bremen Poulsen is a regular at Leipzig which is one of the top teams in Germany. Sisto was one of the top assists providers in Spain this season. And I could keep mentioning names like Dolberg and Vestergaard but I don't feel like I need to make it more clear that it already is.
Very well said. Of course Eriksen has been pivotal for our succes, since he's scored so many goals, but there are a lot of good players in the squad, which makes us a strong squad. Our weakness are our offense though, we are lacking a real forward that can bang some goals in.
Naughty Tyrone now I’m danish, and I kinda agree with you. Sisto is straight out shit, Nicolai Jørgensen is just dreadful. The problem was the the coach didn’t start the match of with players like schøne, braitewaite and dollberg. There was not enough energy in the match, and to many passes led the ball to the opposition.
Hverken Sisto eller Jørgensen er dårlige spillere - bare se på hvordan de spiller på klubplan. Men jeg er fuldstændig enig i, at de begge underpræsterer på landsholdet. Jeg mener, at vi bør beholde Sisto i start 11'eren, men Jørgensen så jeg gerne udskiftet med Dolberg som har vist mere i de få minutter, han fik mod Mexico og Sverige end Jørgensen har gjort i et år på landsholdet.

Peru did play a better game. Denmark played poor but.. at the end of the day, goals is the only thing that matters. Even if Peru was the better team, it doesn’t matter. Goals are what matters. Peru played very well. They only allowed 2 goals in the World Cup against two very top European teams. Not to mention.. France team is stacked with good players. Peru deserved a win against Denmark and a Tie vS France.

There is no doubt that Denmark played well below their usual level against Peru. Having said that, it says a lot about the strength of a team that they can win on a bad day. I am sure that Denmark finds their usual high level and controls the game against Australia, and collects at least 6 points from the groupstage to take at least second spot. In fact, I would not be surprised if Denmark takes first place in the group. Respect to a great Peruvian team who played with at lot of heart.
Denmark didn't play well because Peru was very intense and didn't let Denmark play their game. Plus it's difficult to play against teams like Peru with very skilled players that like to control the ball and many short passes.
Peru is a way better team and play better soccer with way more creativity and style than most countries and they created so many chances with their Soccer, Peru arrived to the world cup without being beaten in 15 games....what happened is that day Peru had a bad day, did not matter if they could have 10 more chances of goal, the box was closed for Peru that day... the luck was not on their side....they never gave up...and that was unfair....
Peru played enjoyable football with great skilled players and very good control of the ball. Peru was the better team but it only takes one mistake to lose a game. Denmark definitely dodged a bullet here. But hey this old dude is crazy, Denmark is definitely not awful, not sure what this dude is smoking!!
I think Denmark is definitively not awful. The best for me: an awesome Schmeichel (Leicester) , two tall and strong centerbacks like Christensen (Chelsea) and Kjaer (Sevilla), a remarkable hunting dog as Delaney (recently signed by Borussia Dortmund), a top CMO as Eriksen (Tottenham) and, in my opinion, Denmark's future Ibrahimovic , Poulsen (RB Leipzig). Regarding collective game, I liked the order the team maintained and how fast and effective were their counter attacks (could have been 2-0 if Eriksen wouldnt have missed that one-on-one chance). Bald grandpa, who mentioned Denmark is awful, lacks a general perspective of the game (underestimating danish "national" players) and priorizes individual performances over collective actions. I dont know if the point of these pundits are to be edgy and controversial but I found Them to be very harsh.. Denmark Can play alot better as they have shown in the games leading up to this game but they were nervous today. For most of the team its the first World cup they have been to and all stadium was a crazy atmosphere like a Peru Homegame.. but I guess nuance is not an option..

Peru's coach did one of the most stupidest strategies that you can possibly do and risking Peru from winning a spot in the World Cup or even getting to the close. why would you put your best player after the other country scoring 1 goal, that is one of the most stupidest strategies that I have heard of ever, we also got to remember that the coach of Peru is from Argentina so that does raised eyebrows and can be suspicious! Very Risky strategy
Arthur Mel Peru had like 8-9 goal opportunities, but didn’t score any of them. Denmark had like 2-3 chances and they scored 1 goal, enough to win the match. Denmark was clever because after the first 15 minutes they realised that Peru was totally dominating the game and they started defending and waiting for the counterattack, which is a valid strategy btw.
