thats why you take licensed taxi drivers from the airport in a foreign country. Gets you to where you need, answers your questions, gives you some advice in exchange for a handsome tip. Fair game imo
I searched up on google how much the hotel room was. He got a “Business loft” which was around $285 per night. It’s basically the most expensive room you can get. Poor Harold.
That makes me understand why they don't travel tegother with Mr Bald. I still don't know who watches this channel though. That's my maybe 3rd attempt and there's nothing here. What's so interesting about a guy who prefers to order a pizza to his expensive hotel over going somwhere? I mean, I understand him, I do the same sometimes, I just don't vlog about it.
@@rolindice9770 no he doesnt. Videos dont make you a crazy amount of money unless theyre monetized which all are not. And they have to have ads. I watched this with no ads. And he doesnt get millions of views per video everyday.
The back and forth with the cab driver is a perfect example of why Harald is the best traveltuber. Just fun, whimsical interactions with locals. Trying street food, overcoming language barriers, it’s like you’re right there with them.
3:55 the guy only saw Harald at first and asked for $5usd which is about 18 soles. The real price was 5 soles and started laughing when the cab driver called him out 😂😂😂 so he tried to triple his profit.
Hi Harald ! From a retired physician, the muscle you can't name is called the deltoid. I do enjoy these Peru series and I am refreshing my memory of our trip last year to Machu Picchu, Cuzco, & the Sacred Valley with your trip.
@@DS..69 I don't think this white man is into seafood, which is too bad because Peruvian food is top-notch when it comes to all things seafood. Harald was probably desperate just to hit an OK pizza, thus, he went for the Dominos. We need to give him a pass for all those recently uploaded videos.
Masa is a type of dough. He was telling you that the masa was made out of yucca, which is a root vegetable used all over south and central America (also Mexico), and when it is deep fried it puffs up. Btw if you read this I'll take the opportunity to tell you to consider traveling to Costa Rica, it's a beautiful place with amazing beaches, forests and people
When visiting areas like this we have always made good acquaintances with local cab drivers. We ask them to take us to the “non tourist” areas. They always show us “their” area with pride. We have been up in the hills and mountain areas where we have seen local children playing in streams, and eaten at small local pubs, and seen culture and living that otherwise we wouldnt have gotten to see. We have asked the drivers to spend the day with us, and bought them lunch, drinks etc, Then end the day with a very good tip that makes their day too. They have shared their phone numbers with us too.....great memories.
Ex-restaurant manager here. If you ever order something and end up hating it you should definitely tell the manager and politely ask if they could help you out (to zero out what you ordered and let you re-order). 99% of the time they want good reviews/publicity and would be more than happy to rather than let a guest leave unhappy. Just don't eat like 70% of it and then say you don't like it, that's obnoxious and will make you look like a shill. PRO-TIP: If you suspect they are going to give you a hard time say it tastes spoiled/rotten and you don't trust it. It gives a double excuse to get rid of what's in front of you and not get a re-order of the same meal (because obviously, it will come from the same supply.).
The taxi guy he was making sure that people wasn't trying to charge more money he is a trustworthy person.. the reason I know he was helping because I understand Spanish.. Good taxi driver
Looks like you skipped the part of investigating Peruvian food. Peru is known for its food and many tourist go the there strictly for that. You've been missing out on most of it from the looks of it. The only Peruvian dish that you've eaten so far was chancho al palo which was the pork that you've had and you actually liked it. If you're looking to eat pizza then you're better off going to Italy. If you want to try real Peruvian food, go to not so fancy restaurants or the street vendors. No hotel food is ever that great and wherever you go, try to order typical Peruvian dishes. The food is great and there's a reason why Peru has the biggest and best food festival in Latin America every year. Your videos are very fun to watch and you've easily become my favorite travel vlogger. Keep up the good work and I hope you finally find good Peruvian food!
18:29 - "This is the worst piece of shit pizza I have ever seen" 🤣😂🤣😂 Harold most certainly does not approve! Harold, not many can get me to laugh, you have done it, thank-you!
After that pizza we have armed forces in full mobilization in Italy, and I am requested reporting for duty at my regional HQ as soon as possible. The declaration of war to Peru should happen in the next few hours.
3:57 and 5:02, the driver was so over protective with you about every possible scam, he knew how it works when youre tourist so he was pretty mindful every time you made a deal
@@miriambraga8968 Don't worry about the hive mind sheeple, they'll take of their big boy pants & try to shit on the entire worldwide Domino's franchise just because one of their friends, friends, friend had one particular type of pizza at ONE of the Domino's out of the entire world that wasn't up to the standards of their favourite Pizza Hut dripping in fatty oils hahaha
@@debsattam1 I went to Dominos and it gave me severe food poisoning. Was on the toilet 24/7 for 3 days in a row. But I also had an annoying stomach issue bothering me for 2 years. And the severe food poisoning actually fixed the 2 year stomach problem. So it sucked for 3 days but it also cured me XD
We stayed in an upscale Hotel in Wuxi China for about 6 weeks while installing a manufacturing facility. The room was very similar to yours, maybe even nicer and it cost about $108 a day with an extra $12 for meals. It was VERY nice to have a landing spot that nice in a foreign country.
I really enjoy these video's and I've been following you and Bald for a long time but i cant understand how you cope with the loneliness. Now in Covid-times the loneliness makes me sick and you do it for a living, respect Harald.
That moment when our desi Harold cleverly convinced the driver Harold to drink the Inka cola.Because desi Harold doesn't approvo Inka when Coca is here.Very clever I must say.
I feel bad for Harald. I could tell he was happy when he saw the lady with the pizza. I'm sure he was starving, then he opens the pizza and instant dissapointment.
I like watching food tours by different 'youtubers', but he's the first person I've seen that gives you the 'raw' footage. Shows you the other-side of things (in a way). Very honest! Thanks for the videos!
@@thegitfiddlekid66 I'm from Peru mate There are many poor people who only earn $10 a day working 12 hrs a day 6 days a week Stop acting stupid and let's help these people
What did I do that was stupid? I don't know your life, so I asked you a rhetorical question. Some of us only dream about being able to give away that kind of money in order to help better someone else's situation. As for their unreasonably low wages, that has nothing to with me and I have no possible way of helping. I have a tumor in my head, behind my left eye; I have crohn's disease and a very low white blood cell count, so I'm sick all the time.I suffer from severe depression, anxiety, and avpd. Dude, I have had some nightmares like you've been having the last week or so. I've had entire holidays, where everything just sucked. Remember that this is the season of thanksgiving. So you are being tested and being reminded to be thankful for the good things you've experienced in life. That is the way I try and look at things anyway.
What I love about Harald and South American culture is that sharing is caring vibe with the taxi driver. Harold's breaking bread with the guy and the taxi driver is super cool, even lowering the price on the Inca/Coke for Harald.
I just don't understand that these kind of people come to another country, order pizza for some reason and than blame it. I mean you can order pizza everywhere, he should try some local food.
@Manny-22 Enjoy-life Wow did you really liked their food? Man, I really hated doesn't have a decent meal in Cusco while I was in there. But rather than Cusco and Lima I absolutly LOVED the food from Churin and Aguas Calientes the town next to Machu Picchu.
s bright I have travel a lot, also to Spanish speaking countries and I can assure never have eating a dish just because it was serve to me, if it’s not good I won’t eat it. I’m glad you like my Greek and Latin names, yeah they are something!
That is sad. Ps f those PC smartness. Here is a nationalist telling you some hard truth about how you are being hurt by your own ideas. I have often thought about this. You are your tribe, not an 'indian'. Indian (as in native American) might be considered a race by some. However, you are actually your own people, your own tribe with your own language, not the 'indian' language and not Hindi (the main real Indian language). You are normal, like Maori, Maori means normal. Though most Maori identify as their tribe or iwi, not simply as Maori. You are normal, the Europeans and others are not-normal when compared to you in your land. American Indians are logically Indian people in America, not the indigenous tribes of America. American racism and colonialism has got you twisted to the point you hate it when people would prefer to call you a name which states your bloodright to the land compared with others. Please think about it. Are you 'Indian"? Or are you your own tribe, within the larger group or indigenous American peoples with it's own culture and language, which is rooted deeply in the land? Do your peoples oral history not go back before the coming of the Europeans? Do your peoples not know of plants and animals and their uses that Europeans do not know? If so I think that makes you indigenous, and America, and more specifically your iwi whenua (tribal land), is yours!
Harald you should stop eating at turistic places and start trying the real peruvian food which is very original. PS: thanks for inviting me to meet you at the game, I just wish I could travel back in time since it happened 6 hours before you post 😒
@@nitink.a567 there are many awards that place it on top3 in the world, it would be cocky for me to say its the best in the world since I am a peruvian and I am used to it, but I would like for him to at least try our flag foods like ceviche, lomo saltado, ají de gallina, anticuchos and many others, if he likes it or not, then thats his personal prefference
Well, whenever I'm in a restaurant it looks so unappetizing I simply can bring myself to order it. I need a restaurant recommendation rather than name of dish at this point.

I think it’s the best place that is affordable with many great hotels with bright gyms but of course you would already know that.
Enjoying your videos your sharing of your great journeys. At beginning of one I heard some Metal music. 🤘🤘 From Norway, Immortal. Mike here in Ohio USA. May all your journeys be safe n fun.
It's weird you've had such poor luck with food in that country. I live in South Florida and there are many Peruvian restaurants here and they are virtually all incredible.
I've traveled extensively, and being American myself I can tell you what you get for the price here is VERY poor compared to what you get in most parts of the world. You can get WAY better quality for half the price in many lovely European cities and towns than you can get in even the unknown american towns that tourists would never think about travelling to.
I’m sure in the US it would of been half the price. Stayed in Las Vegas and New York City and the hotels were off the hook and only $250 per night. I’m sure Harold paid more to stay here.

Looking at the bigger picture it paints a whole different story eh. Make a story smaller and suddenly everything starts becoming more intense but look at it the way it should and it suddenly isn't that big of a deal anymore. When percentage wise looking to a top 100 the list would say over 90 percent being European countries while the other 10 percent represent the rest of the world.
