Ok, I don’t who Jasmine is, where she’s from, or what she does, but her rice is delicious. This side dish can complement any meal, but its so good I often eat it with just a fried egg on top. Try it out!

Recipe:
1 tbsp (14 ml) of olive oil, avocado oil or vegetable oil
1 tbsp (14 grams) of garlic paste
1 tbsp (14 grams) of salt
2 cups (370 grams) of jasmine rice
3 cups (705 ml) of water

Omg this rice is so good and so easy to make. For my reference, I used 1 cup of Jasmine rice and 1.5 cups of water and cooked for 15 min. Came out perfect!

I’ve made this a few times now and its literal perfection each time! Gracias😉 i dont make the garlic paste just chop it up real finely but its always so good! Idk if its just me but by not washing the rice beforehand, I feel it allows the rice to sauté real nicely. I know we latino are told to always wash it but I dont for this recipe and its always amazing!!

Gringo here. Is Peruvian rice typically not washed before cooked or is the starch part of what makes it Peruvian?

Just based on this video, I sub, that’s the traditional way to make Peruvian rice, at least up in the north where we’re the biggest producers, Pacasmayo District in La Libertad. My grandma taught me how make this when I was little, now I make a lot for meal preps, being a guy, I can eat as much as I want 😆 cause I just burn it off at the gym.

It’s so funny when you add salt and you say “you got to season you’re sh**”. Made Lomo the other day and totally forgot salt🤦🏾‍♀️ so not good lol now I will remember your phrase! 👍🏾

I tried the lowest heat and the rice was under-cooked. I was using a a ceramic stove top so I am going to raise the heat to medium low and see if I fare better.

Yeah Glenn just play around with it. Gas and electric vary.

@@marcoantonioskitchen Worked better so on that electric range I did 20 minutes at 2.5 on a scale of 1-9 and put about 2 and 3/4 cups of water and the rice was perfect.

Well, I'm Peruvian and I've lived here all my life, so I know I'm allowed to comment lol. Just some corrections I would do. 1) Plz wash you rice :') 2) idk what kind of rice you used in the video, but we get the same results with many cups of water as cups of rice. Anyway, it's up to the type of rice you use. 3) Too much oil (just for me) lol Sorry about spelling or grammar possible errors, not my first language Anyway, I'm really enjoying your channel, is nice to see how you share our gastronomy to the world and how legit your recipes are.
