Deven Damji Kyle is a great writer they need him . he's an integral part of production but I agree he isn't that funny and like Leslie he can't remember lines and isn't fluent in his skits. they look directly at the cue cards

You guys forget they often change lines at the last minute and when you’re up there under all those blinding lights in front of people staring at you, it can be pretty tough to not look right at the cue cards.
