Pawp was a scam in our experience. Been paying for many months, and had an emergency with our cat. Upon having the mandated PAWP vet video call and her looking at my cat as I did things she told me to do and conveyed how his abdomen felt, how his gums looked, etc, she told me to have the vet see the cat ASAP. I did so, and the cat wound up spending the night at the vet and had treatment for dehydration and other things. He had refused to eat or drink for days prior to this, and was vomiting regularly. He was deteriorating quickly. If he had not been treated, he would likely have died. Submitted everything to PAWP and jumped through their multiple hoops of resubmitting the same documents over a weeks time, only to be told that they wouldn't cover anything because it was "not covered" and "wasn't an emergency". I spoke to them about receiving a refund for my monthly premiums as they obviously are just stealing from people under a false promise of coverage. Classic fraud. They basically told me to pound sand. Horrible predatory company.
im considering taking that $100 plus a month im going to be spending and investing it into a index fund. $1200 a year for 10 plus years you're looking at over $15,000-$20,000 depending on how the market does then you can keep whatever is left over and not used.
I paid for insurance through PAWP for my pets for over a year.. My little dog **** developed a sudden swelling in her stomach, was panting and in pain. After a video chat, I was told the vet at PAWP couldnt be sure the dogs condition was an emergency. She also informed me that their policy of paying up front had changed. Today my dog will be euthanized due to my inability to assure pay. The vet, any vet, knows a swollen abdomen is a life threatening emergency

My french bulldog has Trupanion he is 9 months old and I'm in California. His premium is locked in at puppy rate for life $135 and it covers holistic and physical therapy if needed for recovery along with any mobility braces or carts. I saved $15 because he is a service animal. I have unlimited coverage and we are covered at 90%, our deductible is $500 per incident or per illness, not per year. If my pet has a heart condition per example, I pay $500 deductible for that condition 1x for the life of my pet and policy. The policy is continuous and does not start over every year, you can't get dropped and your policy does not go up for filling a claim. You can go to any vet or pet hospital and some locations get paid before you leave so you only pay your deductible, exam cost and 10% of copay. Most other policies renew every year and will reassess to last years conditions and call them pre existing condition for renewal and not cover them. Other insurances may be cheaper for my Frenchie but do not have unlimited coverage or illness coverage, only emergency accident coverage...Most of them quoted me at $95 and they will continue to go up every years as my puppy gets older.
Mhmm I pay 40 for the same thing you just stated and I am paying 40 due to my job offering pet insurance but my friend pays 60$ at most for the same thing
I actually have Pumpkin for my 2 year old cat. I have a $500 deductible (for a lower premium since he is young). I didnt have to use it for his first year. But this year I had to and the claim process was fast. Even though I didnt get reimbursed because it only went into the deducible, the claim took less than 2 weeks. I am actually grateful I have it because he has an upcoming dental work due to an accident. But thank you for the info for Pawp. I might pass your video along to my friends who has older pets since older pets have a much higher premium
@@TheMoneyResolution I have been bing watching your videos. Thank you for your knowlege that you are sharing! And ofc I have subscribed! Keep up the amazing work!!!!
Hypothetically if the company sells to another and name changes, will they still cover the condition your pet had or would it be considered a pre exsisting condition?
Understandable. Also full disclosure: all the content was my own thoughts from my own research. Sponsors from time to time simply help keep this a financially viable hobby for creators for all the time/effort it takes to make these :)

Hi! Is Petplan now called Fetch? Is Fetch available in Canada? I am getting a German Shepherd puppy and am researching the best affordable pet insurance for him in Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks for answering my msg regarding your pet insurance video from a while ago and referring me to this updated video. This was also very informative and " Pawp " sounds interesting and may be good for a pet owner of one cat which I may be soon ( maybe 2 cats but still debating that ) so I'm not sure how much coverage 1 cat may need but Pawp seems like a good option. Again thanks for the info... and I'll figure it out ... oh I also heard believe it or not ASPCA actually has very good coverage, have you heard this?
@@TheMoneyResolution just me again 😂 after a lot of research and all of your helpful advice I decided to go with " Pet Plan" insurance. I will use your code or reference you when I sign up. .... but I think I have to get the kitty first, haha. I like to research first before I get fully into things, so Pet Plan seems to have the best for me ..$22 monthly, 15k cap, $300 deductible & 80% reimbursement. Anyway thanks again.... now I gotta go find that awesome kitty.
okay I just watched your other video and made a looong comment...and then a couple more. So now on this video I would like to say that my pet insurance here pays out depending on how the vets do it. Some vets here want direct payment and then send the reimbursement forms in but other vets (we had to take our furbaby to a specialist at a point) are willing to submit the forms and get reimbursement from the insurance company (if you get it) and you pay the difference. I am stating this because even though I know the majority of the times it's the insurance company that wants you to pay first, sometimes its the vet offices. Also I was wondering is there an equivalent to Pawp in Canada? Or if I decided to travel with my furbaby in the states for a period of time, could I get coverage through them?
Glad to see you finally made this video. (: It was fun sending you research hope something was helpful. I know no one likes insurance but as always you have a great way to educate. Enjoyed it!
I got help from Pawp, Petplan AND you! It was fun to finally dig through your research. I'm hope you heard some of it included! THANK YOU! YOU ROCK! I saw some of your other ideas too so I'll definitely keep them in mind.
Unfortunately Pawp isn't available everywhere. I live in CO and it's not a covered state. Feeling a bit heartbroken about it. Hopefully they will become available here soon.
My daughter wants a puppy but since Covid things been hard, getting the dog isn’t the problem but accidents and illnesses does happen smh I was know if I get a dog and I can’t pay the vet directly even with pet insurance… is there a PI that’ll pay the vet directly and I’ll pay the remaining fee
Yes, I believe there are. I can't remember off of the top of my head but I did a pet insurance video before his one you should look up. Then go to the comments. I remember some people talking about it down there. Hope that helps!
I've been investigating the price increase as my dog ages. It's really going to skyrocket past age 9. Any recommendations for a carrier with the LEAST increase as our dogs live hopefully long lives?

I love this paws thank u for your advice I got this 6 m ago and when my dog got emergency I pay w my c c but they ask for the receipt and they reimbursed all of it except for the cremation so they reimbursed me almost 98%
This might be a silly question but when you submit a claim after a vet visit, will the reimbursement include the deductible you paid let’s say if your reimbursement percentage is 100%?
