Dude, her coordination is on par. Don't know how she catches every piece with that GIANT BILL OF HERS when I can barely catch anything with my own hands.
If a toucan's a mascot for Froot Loops, maybe Ripley can become the mascot for blueberries and chicken. It's just incredible how intelligent she is and she knows to use her cuteness to her advantage. So, she actually comes up with tactics to nick your food as well. Car keys, plastic, cardboard, wallet, chicken and laundry are on her list. Maybe she'll up her game and steal some Szechuan sauce next to go with the chicken. Hahaha.
+2CAN.TV - Ripley the Toucan! So glad you got the reference. Haha. Does Ripley wind up interested when the TV's on since she's extremely curious about stuff and TV has a ton of changing colours and images?
They have as much in common genetically as you do with a cow, pig or deer. They're not only not the same species, they're not even the same Genus, Family or even Order. Saying a bird is a cannibal for eating other birds is like saying a mammal is a cannibal for eating other mammals.
That's so interesting, I didn't know Toucans ate other animals. I thought they were purely a fruit eating bird, but I'd be interested to know what types of animals they eat.
That reminds me of the last time I was in Brazil, visiting family. My uncle showed me a bird nest that was sorta hidden in a bush and there were a couple of eggs in it that were close to hatching. So a few days later we see that two baby birds have hatched and I snap some pictures, keeping my distance as to not cause distress to the bird parents. Aaand the next day the chicks are gone. A toucan ate em. RIP lil nuggets. xD
Thank you so much for sharing Ripley with us, she makes my day almost everyday. You must be an awesome person for having such a great animal thanks again
Ps, can tell u look after her amazingly well she looks like shes in wonderful condition, bright eye's n feathers n happy tocanality (personality), shes a lucky girl 😃
I bet the reason birds survived so well was that being airborne meant they could get to what little food was left before anything else. Figure the ash layer from the meteor impact would make food extremely scarce, due to lack of sunshine.
Love this video..I like that you explained about Ripley...please do it more..lovely to see you again my friend..🤗🌞. Does Ripley make any other noises or have any type of voice.?
Lewdest fox zoroark - Ridley from Metroid was (I think) named after the director Scott Ridley, who directed the first _Alien_ movie, from which Metroid takes much of its initial inspiration. Said movie's protagonist, played by Sigourney Weaver, was named Ripley. So the toucan could be named after anyone, really.
I would love an educational video detailing your care and daily routines for your toucan. I've seen a lot of people interested in getting a toucan, and having someone buy these highly active and intelligent birds without being prepared would be a tragedy. And you actually seem to know what your doing with these animals.
She is GORGEOUS!! Do you know why their beaks are are so large compared to their body? And of course she tries to be sneaky.... Ladies aren't supposed to have big appetites, lol! Hi, from Georgia, Ripley, you're a doll!
I liked this video because having a toucan pet is very cool also because i love them and i also dressed as one in one for my kinder Rio the movie talent show.
You mentioned they eat some animals in the wild, but cant handle iron...so can you feed her crickets to add protien to her diet? My parrots love chicken and eggs also..
It's amazing how it sounds like plastic when she rubs her beak against stuff! I'm so glad I'm learning so much about toucans from this channel, like I never would have known that they make that clicking sound
question: does the residual oil from the popcorn chicken negatively affect her? i know that typically in the wild, where a bird will be flying 50+ miles a day, the calorie load is important, and it is used. does it cause any problems with her stool or anything? or her attitude? don't have an "exotic" bird, but i AM very interested in their husbandry and domestic lives!
