Brock has been passionate about toucans since childhood with a drive to research all available information he can about the birds. The channel all started with Ripley and her silly antics, then expanded to include education about toucans domestic and wild and their behavior. Now, together with his ragtag flock of mismatched, traumatized and disabled toucans- he hopes to not only provide a better life for needy birds, but also provide an experience for people to learn more about these wonderful creatures through social media, while also advocating that toucans do not make good pets in hopes to spare other birds from neglect. He is actively working to create the first toucan sanctuary in the US in hopes to take in as many sick and injured toucans as he can and provide a safe and enriching environment for them.
I know the feeling of not sleeping because of worry over a bird. One of my Green Cheeks had a stroke during her wellness exam. They were drawing blood, and she developed a blood clot. I nearly lost her. I slept in her room for several nights so I could peek in on her during the night. It was a stressful few weeks, but she was able to rehab. I'm glad your girl got a good report! There is no greater joy than getting a good report from the vet!
In some rare cases its safe for the bird, we had this pigeon who couldn't fly properly, his wings weren't damaged or anything, he just couldn't fly properly for some reason and always would collide with walls/tree branches then fall. So we had no choice but to clip his wings so he does hurt himself. When his wings grew back he was able to properly fly
She looks great I can see a real improvement in between now then when you brought her home, she just seems brighter and happier. I want to ask you about that. Looks like a break on the edge of her beak. Will that break grow in or do you have to file it anyway I think you’re doing a great job with her and I’m really glad that her hawks are gonna heal up and she’s gonna be OK.
