Regarding Messi the cougar - I have already messaged the owners to thank them for their good work with him and they’ve responded. I watched one video which didn’t completely convey the cougars circumstances, so im glad I have the full story now and that Messi has a loving home who can take care of his special needs :) And THANKS for introducing me to Gumby. I’ve never seen the cartoon before!! Xxx

@@ryangaut154 Chinchillas don't only need a large cage with multiple levels, like 5tf tall, such as a Critter Nation, but also need a lot of time out of a cage to run around in a safe place (No cords around, secure doors and windows exc). So if you are able to accommodate all of that then I would advise doing a lot of research into the care of Chinchillas before even contemplating adopting or buying one 😊
Yeah I already did all the research for them for like the past three days and I’ve covered up all the places that have cords and like I said yes already did all of the research and I know how to take care of them I was just wondering if you would be a good idea to keep one in the bedroom and of course every time I let him or her out for playtime I would especially pick up everything off the ground

Normally when people talk with their hands while holding animals I cringe so hard bc they look so distraught but you literally whip niffler around and he just flops and yawns and I love it so much.
Man, my friend had a goofy ferret that was obsessed with pocket stuff. Like anything in your pocket. He stole my pocket knife one day, and my guard, it was equal parts funny and terrifying. Nothing is scarier than a armed and playful ferret.
Teach your bird to talk if he or she can’t already maybe the bird can understand cat talk and you will always know what ur cat is talking about you could make a fortune.😀
This should definitely become a series, it'll educate so many people on animal care and behaviour and hopefully help people recognise when a pet is no longer having fun
I’ve raised goats too and seeing that toddler tug on the tail and ears, along with the parents not stepping and then backlashing in the comments section justifying it, really irked me. Yes they’re tough animals but how would they like it if someone dragged them by their ear and arm hair?... exactly. The kid doesn’t know any better so it wasn’t his fault. I’m just disappointed in the parents.
@@Darkwolfpocco well it actually is animal abuse by definition as it is the parents JOB to teach the kid how to correctly approach the animal and touch it, and to discipline that behavior. I have worked with younger kids that knew to not grab or pull on animals. And parents that saw their kids trying to grab and instead grabbed their hand and helped them pet the animal

Most child -animal videos are atrocious Parents really do NOT teach children acceptable animal interaction at all. For some reason they think that just because a child is young, they cannot learn proper interaction. It's not like you have to hurt or scream at the kid. Just supervise them *actively* (instead of passively filming for internet points), and *show them* by example that there's a right way to interact with an animal. Little kids are smart as hell. they are little sponges soaking up everything! And yet, I've only seen a small minority of parents who can actually recognize and take advantage of this to teach small children how to get along with other living things. It may sound like a nitpick, but in reality, a lot of the attacks that domestic animals and pets are responsible for happen to small children, and we could help drastically to set up both the animals and the children for success if we'd only do something about it.
Completely agree, we've always had dogs from being babies but as soon as we were old enough to start asking for other animals my parents bought us a correctly size toy of that animal and we had to look after and interact with it appropriately for 2 weeks with no mishaps before they'd even consider it. It taught us to be gentle and gave my dad plenty of opportunities to get creative and make animal noises to amuse us. It worked really well and thus far none of our animals have been treated improperly or handled incorrectly just through making it a bit of a game from being ~18 months old
I totally agree! I have always taught my kids animals gave feelings and can be hurt. Do not hurt them! Seeing videos or parents that do not correct drive m nuts!
I agree. My nephews don't have cats or dogs at home and so when they come to visit, the oldest (turning 2 soon) likes to try to pet the cats. He grabbed my main coon by the scruff and dragged him. Of course me and his mother scolded him and showed him how to properly pet kitties. And my sweet kitty didn't scratch him or anything, he just rolled with it lol Of course now he's afraid of the boys when they visit but he warms up to them right away lol
Agree! I work at an aquarium where we have a touch pool filled with crabs, seastars, flatfish, eelpouts and sculpins etc. First of all; a lot of people bring their BABY to the touch pools. The babies don't understand anything but the fact that there is water in front of their face (the parents always hold the babies right over the water trying to point stuff out) It is such a nice thought, but the babies just hit the water and play with it Second; I have to stop way to many children being too harsh and wild with the animals than I should have to! The parents just stand there beside them and say nothing. The eelpouts for example don't like to be touched so they swim away. This results in children straight up HUNTING them and GRABBING them to be able to touch them. If I have my back turned it can get so aggressive that I can hear the water splashes! And the parents still don't do anything! Except after I correct their children. THEN they suddenly show their children how to do it.
It’s a huge pet peeve of mine when people under-parent and then try to make those who care more seem like over emotional freaks. Being a parent of any social species means teaching your offspring the proper way to do things. It would be a super positive and healthy parent-child interaction if they had taught the child how to properly pet the goat, as Em said. I’ve know people who’s kid has killed multiple small pets because they don’t know how to play with them safely. Not to mention how many kids get hurt by poor interactions with larger animals. It’s better to teach your kid safe and respectful interactions.
I agree! I personally hope my Dad and stepmom dont have a baby because 1. I hate children, they are very annoying and immature and I already have 2 sister like that. 2. We have 2 HUGE dogs, a female Great Dane and a male Mastiff mix. I've heard stories about people giving up their dogs because they accidentally injure the child, and I could never part with my Great Dane as we are very close. I already had to part with my outdoor cat Emmett because he was my grandmas but she left him with us. One day he disappeared and it turned out that he was caught by animal control, but we couldn't get him back because we didnt legally own him. The who did was my grandma, but she has enough pets as it is and so my parents sold him. I was close to Emmett as well, so I'm near tears typing this. I wouldn't be able to deal with a loss of another pet close to me.

Tbh I find it so uncomfortable how many parents won't teach their kids even simple things like "don't pull on the cats tail" or "don't jump on the dog" like, everybody in my family grew up with cats and dogs of all different breeds and even with really little kids like the one in the video, if you tell them NO then they learn NOT to do it. Saying "oh he's super small" as an excuse to not do your job as a parent? Kinda infuriating.

About the Cougar, I believe he was malformed and couldn’t survive and thrive which is how the couple ended up with it. Unless in extreme circumstances, I never condone large cats as pets. Ever ever. Not fair to the animal, nor safe for the humans. The ideal home for an unhealthy large cat would be a zoo or refuge. 😊
This is one of the few RU-vid channels where I'm actually interested in seeing the RU-vidrs reaction to the clips. Having an animal expert give funny feedback to various popular clips of people handling animals is a really good idea.
This is a cool idea for a series because it can really help educate people about the animals in viral videos. I would love to see you do more of this kind of video. If you do, I have a few suggestions: 1. "Awesome, Amazing Rat Tricks" by NanaBorderCollie, it's a few years old now but it really showcases the intelligence of a very underestimated animal. 2. "Ball-rolling bees reveal complex learning" from QMULOfficial is another really amazing display of intelligence from insects. 3. Not a specific video but there's a lot of videos of chickens raising other animals like ducks, geese, quail, turkeys, etc - even kittens.
Yes i would love to see more of these. Even though its probably a simple easy video to film i enjoyed it a lot, plz plz plz make it a series. We don't always need big exciting videos we know you work hard and appreciate that.
Don't chickens just do that while they're broody? I've heard of chickens killing them after they stop being broody. Don't get me wrong, chickens are smart and I love them - they're cuties and lovely birds! But I don't own any (I do interact with some but I don't have any as pets and don't take care of them) so I'm going off of what other chicken owners have told me.

My dog has this same Gumby toy, I got it from Amazon for $3. She LOVES it and takes it everywhere but she tore open the head and removed the squeaker. Not complaining because before she did that she was constantly squeaking it and it was getting annoying.
I really like the way you do this. You always seemed to watch with an open mind, and only cast judgement where it is due. I love how rather than attacking, 'how DARE they?!" "This is stupid" etc. You approach these with a calm attitude and seem to desire to educate rather than judge. I wish more people could learn from that

The reason why the cougar lives with them is because it has a lot of health issues and is extremely stunted. I don’t exactly remember the circumstances of how they acquired the cat or where from but I do know they just didn’t selfishly purchase a perfectly healthy animal. Someone else did. I think there was also a reason it doesn’t live at a rescue but just know this is a rare case where the animal is actually better off than it previously was.
It's living with them because they bought it from a petting zoo. There's nothing stopping it from being placed in an appropriately sized rescue. That cat may be stunted, but there's no way the cat is getting the type of enrichment it should with exercise and hunting by living in an apartment. This cat is just now around 2-3 years old and these people drag it around the public and kids with minimal precautions and no training. It's just a matter of time before it playfully mauls someone's face off.
@@deedeeiam It's the taking it out in public that really scares me. If you wanna get mauled in your own home, that's your business, but even if it is stunted, I don't think that harness and leash are going to do a thing to keep it in check out on a walk if some poor bystander triggers its instincts like Em talked about.

“Woman fails to get anything done because of ferrets” Story of my life! I have the same dynamic with my ferrets, big boy Kumo is quite gentle and enjoys being cuddled. Small girl Yuki... not so much. She’s more into waking me up at insane hours and escaping all the time. I call her “Dookini”.
I love you reaction to the child. So many people just hate under these videos on the kids. I mean how should they know. The parents are the one to call out. And that comes from a person who have no clue what to do with kids, but I still can see a difference between a kid who have no idea what it is doing and a kid hurting a animal on purpose.
Thank you for saying it's a parents responsibility to teach their child proper animal handling! I've already started with my 7th month, she has tried to pull on my dogs ears numerous times and every time she does I take her hands off and tell her no, and then obviously give my dog a good rub bc she just looks at me like help please.
I'm happy you talked about this because these "cute" videos get viral all the time, like that small dog in the pyjamas who only walks on his back feet, but the only way to teach a dog that is to make it afraid of walking on all four feet and they usually hit and scare them until they only walk on their 2 back feet, it is terrible! People can be so naive and selfish.
That's horrible, although one time I put some shoes on my yorkie (I was afraid of his feet getting to cold in the snow) and he must have hated how they felt because he started walking on two feet, so maybe it just wasn't used to wearing pajamas?
Same goes with "dancing" horses. They're tied up in a wooden "frame" and their legs and hind quarters are whipped and lashed constantly to keep them moving.
I saw this video of the dog, I guess. After some rumors I found out this dog particularly had been hit and tortured to learn that. I felt horrible. I mean, why are we humans so evil? Just for what, fame? Views on an internet website? It's so wrong. I could never watch this video again and now I'm always concerned whenever I see any "viral dog trick" video. I always scroll down to see people's comments so I know whether something is wrong or not in the video.
The couple with a cougar is a very specific case, it's undergrown and was abandoned by the mother (if I'm not mistaken) but basically he wouldn't survive in nature and this couple (again if I'm not mistaken it has been a while since I read about this) works with animals and took it upon themselves to take the cougar in, Idk I just don't personally find it selfish.
I liked this video. If you can, you and Danny should do a segment like this where y’all just look at animal videos and tell us if you like them or if you don’t like them and why you don’t like them. Just like you did with these videos. Just another way to educate people about animals and their behavior and also, if the video is bad, maybe get people to stop watching that particular video. 👍🏼🙂
I'm very over the top when I see animals getting pulled round by kids. Parents should step in asap and teach there children to respect animals. Mite backfire one day and the shoe may be on the other foot lol
Or if the child does that and the dog/ animal bites... well now the parents will most likely put the dog/animal down if the bite is severe.... and it was the child's fault 😒🤦♂️

When ever I tend to make any kind of comment on this sorta stuff to any friends or on a video, the quick response is “it’s tie ben hurting the animal” or “there’s enough space they’re taken good care of” it’s so annoying since these animals should be in their natural habitat where they’re meant to be

When ferrets have a "project", they are unshakeable. My first ferret Sadie in 1986 had an old hockey bag that she had to drag around. She would drag it upstairs, which would be an hour long endeavour.

I haven't seen any comments on it yet, but that cougar is a male that's TINY. He was rescued and couldn't be released. I don't think they should keep him around like a house cat. I'm glad he gets to live a good life, but they should be giving him a more naturalistic lifestyle.
@@Emzotic If I'm not mistaken, he has some sort of genetic disorder causing him to be roughly the size of a medium dog. They didn't decide to get a pet cougar. I wish they went about it with a more educational stance like Juniper the Fox. Her owners let everyone know how awful owning a fox is and I think that's wonderful. So nice to see you're still able to reply to my comments with how big you are now ❤️ I've been here since under 30k and watching you grow has just been beautiful.
Videos like the slow loris one (and many cat videos) are honestly the main reason I can't bring myself to watch animal videos anymore, to many people think "Oh that's cute!" and don't understand that what they are seeing is harmful/stressful for the animal and either replicate or support what they see and the people who do it. Thank you for educating people about animal Care and welfare! (Also I'm the same way with kids and animals always telling them to be careful/gentle)
I love watching Dobby and Niffler in the background. I would actually watch a video of Niffler and Dobby playing with quiet music over it, they are so funny.

Part of me hoped you’d react to videos of kids mishandling animals but the other part of me is so pained to watch them. It hurts me so deeply inside to see adults letting children mishandle animals but they don’t take responsibility when the animal reacts negatively such as biting/clawing the child. Animals suffer for our ignorance. Personally, I would never punch a kid but the video of the little girl “hugging” a kitten around the neck is infuriating. Every time I see it, I’ve never wanted to punch a kid more. I don’t think there’s such a thing as hovering too much around children and animals.

I hate when things like that happen! 🙁 My niece’s best friend had a guinea pig and mom turned her back for a minute and she just squeezed her too tight... As a mom of 2 piggies it hurt my heart so much to hear. Her mom said “she was fine holding her other times”. In the end, children are children. Goats are my favorite!!!! My grandparents had some growing up and ever since I’ve been obsessed lol. I don’t like seeing kids not being corrected with the handling of animals...it’s our job to teach.
I used to LOVE watching videos of my favourite animals online, but ever since I became a competent and educated pet owner I can barely find a single video of my pet's species that is "safe". Been a chinchilla owner for 18 years now, and every time I see a video of these beautiful darlings I almost end up crying because the owners are either feeding them things that will eventually kill them in a VERY painful way in the long run, or they have very unsafe living quarters. The same things goes with dogs... Been working with dogs for 8 years now and I pride myself on being a really good caretaker and knowledgeable when it comes to dog psychology. But sometimes a video crosses my path of dogs showing horrible and very unstable behaviour that are treading the line of real aggression.. and people think it's CUTE! I brought myself down D: gotta go play with my chinchillas and give them a nice dustbath and some cuddles. loves the videos Emz! as I always do :D

But I tend to direct people towards active groups in online communities run by reputable chinchilla breeders. One day I shall become one of these wonderful breeders myself and help keep a healthy genepool alive! ONE DAY I SAY!!!
@@JeSuisDeTexas OH I KNOW. I'd rather hear them knocking stuff over than not hear them. there's a 50/50 chance if they're asleep or getting into stuff. I also have to keep up the cat food. My cat is my only pet not on full raw (not for lack of trying lol, he won't switch. Been trying for years.) But, since my ferrets haven't eaten kibble in over a year, they have no idea that kibble is food. It looks like dig box beans to them, and that's all they want to do with it... kick it up everywhere.
With the puma video if you watch it to the end you can see that they are tacking care of it because it was sick, so I do not think that it is really selfish. Correct me if I am wrong
XDD The whole thing of Dobby trying to eat your binder is too adorable! I wish I could have ferrets, but I know I wouldn't make for a good ferret mom. I know I wouldn't be able to take proper care of them...But they're so CUUTE!!!
