Such a gentleman. You can tell by the constant smile on his face that he still loves what he does, and continuing to do it in the in the club that his mother started in the basement of their home so many years ago. Well done Pete!
Pete Best must be really emotional to remember playing this song with the Beatles. He was there right from the start from Casbah, Hamburg & then the historic recording in London.
Ringo after the Beatles splitted, as far as i know , in his solo career, has never played any song of Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, has he denied his roots? Shame ! Pete is the number one !!
Extremely nice person. Deserves far more credit than he's been given over the years. Was very kind to my wife and children the last couple of times he was in MD..
I met pete best and micky dolenz and fab four and lou harrison in pasadena califkrnja at liverpool days, bought pete's book hamburg days had my pic tsken with him and he signed book
How have i only just noticed this? I was in the audience that night. Unbelievable experience to hear the Beatles' music in one of the very first places they played..
I was there in 2009 and had the immense pleasure of meeting Pete just before he went on. Being a lifelong Beatles fan I was nervous as hell. Very gracious man, we took a photo together, exchanged pleasantries and went our separate ways. It's great to see he's still "hitting the skins" 💯
Pete Best just phoned me and told me to let everyone here spare a thought for him. He could have been a somebody, he could have been a Beatle. But he got betrayed by the people he thought were his friends. HE could have been the drummer, not Ringo. They were jealous of his good looks. He's been barely scraping by for over 50 years. Poor, poor Pete.
Pete Best has nothing to do with the world wide fame and success of The Beatles but is known for being too ungiftet as a drummer to share that success.
@@jasona9 Real Beatles fans know that Pete Best has nothing to do with the world wide fame and success of The Beatles but is known for being too ungiftet as a drummer to share that success. And the whole world knows the names of the successfull members: John, Paul, George and Ringo. Obviously no name like "Pete" among these names. Not only is the drumming of Pete Best tasteless but also his attempt to glorify his unability as a professional musician as being relevant for the phenominal success of others.
@@thattechnodude Ringo had just joined the band and he was playing with them at the Cavern as the new guy . That was filmed by Granada TV which ironically Pete's Mum Mona Best had been instrumental in making that happen.
Pete is now a good drummer. If he hadn't been such a late developer, the other Beatles would have kept him. In his case, the saying: Better late than never unfortunately doesn't apply. Of course it would have been better if he had stayed with the Beatles as he was the favorite with the women and was much better looking than Ringo. If I had had to decide back then, I would have given him regular lessons from a professional drummer until he had reached the required level.
@@maxfrudd7666 That's true. But there are people who think if someone is seen sitting behind a drumset it must be a drummer, no matter how lousy his unqualified attacks on drums, cymbals and ears are.
@@WAHRHOCHZEHN The humblest of the Beatles, you can ask a photograph with him , or autograph , and always available to share a conversation. I met him in person , 22 years ago , great guy , friendly . Instead, i recently readed about Paul that he fired one of his crew, only because this young boy asked for an autograph. That's crazy!! I 've worked with famous musicians during the early 80's, i can tell you that it's a hard work to assembly the stage , lights, instruments. He didn't have to treat the young worker that way , famous musicians should be grateful to all the personnel doing this job , i had the chance to work with a very famous group ( i can not reveal the name) , and they were all assholes towards us . Some others they were appreciating our efforts to prepare the show . Depends who do you work for ,most of the people, going back to the 80's , were brought from companies ( like myself) and they were not hired directly from the bands .
@@WAHRHOCHZEHN he may not be the greatest drummer, but the Beatles were assholes for cutting off contact. That’s called soul selling for money and fame and they felt guilty.
Yes they do. It's been getting a lot of building work in the last few years . Fans are going to be able to come and stay in what I believe is called the Casbah Suites.
Well it can suck ! Life for most of us is defeat ! Even the Superstar Actor Harrison Ford said that success is an anomaly . Well huge , superstar , change the world success is but for a while I say Pete Best went somewhere . He was not as good as Ringo but he laid some of the groundwork for the Beatles success and obviously he enjoys what he is doing here . Best wishes for Mr. Best !
This is so true, I saw an interview back in 68 and a music producer mention this about Brian and the 3 other Beatles. With every thing we know about this industry, is very possible Pete did participate in the"INITIATION RITUAL"😮
think all three (LenMacHar) were just pigs to act with their comrade who shared all the hardships with them for two years. After this, songs about love, friendship and honor are not worth a cent. They sang about one thing and acted completely differently. MONEY first , IMAGEN ALL THE PEOPLE ..... last. I despise them for betraying a friend.Of course they fired him because of jealousy and not because of the game. This is what scoundrels do, not real men.Two years they played and were satisfied with his play and suddenly discovered that P.Best was bad drummer?
No one can predict the future. No one knew, in ‘62, they would conquer the whole world. No other band or artist has in my lifetime. I’ll rather be in Pete’s shoes instead of Stu’s.
Only difference is Pete will still be remembered with fondness by his fans around the world long after you've popped your clogs and are forgotten just like me .
Pete contributed nothing to the legacy of the Greatest band ever each of the Beatles Sang and wrote countless songs and were professionals who where awesome musicians ! and most important talent and charisma and unfortunately for Pete he had none of that.
