I met Coach Carroll when he first came to Seattle at a book signing at the Ballard QFC. I bought his book, Win Forever. Along with his signature he wrote the words, “ALWAYS COMPETE!” That’s a noble philosophy for self-improvement and his philosophy of life, to always try to improve yourself. Thank you, Pete Carroll!

it's pretty cool seeing everyone in the comments. despite the success he has, so many people kept dogging on him for not being able to make it to the superbowl again (as if going to the SB two years in a row and winning one of them is somehow not enough for a coaching reign). but so far i've seen nothing but respect for the dude. which is well earned. pete is a 1 of a kind coach. idk any other 72 year old who gets has hyped as pete does when his team succeeds. i'm so glad we could keep him the building. his leadership is second to none in this league.

This is the saddest day in Seattle since the Sonics left and Mr. Paul Allen passed away. Thank you Mr. Carroll for your heartfelt speech and all of us owe you on everything you put in over the years. You deserve more coach but it was just not making up to what we achieved in Seahawks nation that we came up short even if how hard we tried every single week. But I agree with your perspective that this game is about players on the line and your sincere loyalty to the city and the team is what it is all about. After all, that is why you are the greatest Seahawks coach of all time. Along with Mr. Chuck Knox and Coach Homlgren, you will be automatically in the Seahawks hall of fame from today. And the NFL should put Coach Pete Carroll to the hall of fame in the first ballot on the next voting. And USC should put aside everything and put Coach Carroll to the USC hall of fame. He literally cared about inner city issues and problems in Los Angeles and he gave what he could do to help them and it is absolutely not fair that the University is treating him to this day. Today, Pete Carroll is the greatest foot ball coach of all time in professional level and college level combined.
