I don't mind the crackling voice and all the bumps it makes it more genuine and artful I don't ever want to hear a perfect sound or performance from anyone !
Yes!!! Somebody that gets it. Thers hope for the human race. Thats what makes rock n roll great its not perfect. Go listen to some boring ass Dream Theatre if you want perfect timing and harmony. Doherty is an unconventional guitar player i love it and i'm a musician. I love when he breaks musical "rules".
yeah well that's what you look for in indie acoustic songs. It's not meant to be studio perfect. The kooks have some good songs like that. Check out the Rak track not sure how it got released but it's just full of songs that weren't made for albums.
I'm feeling it mate. I am a music lover and have struggled to find a band or musician that appeals to, there arent many pete is right at the top. All his music is pure natural quality and poetry, I dont know any other band or musician like him true quality really. Hes like marmite you love him or hate him. I was lucky enough to meet him and alan at a little gig at his aunties pub in London nearly 10 years ago I took my down in Albion Album with me and his signed it, after a while of him tryin to find a pen lol Cant see why ppl dislike peter so much obviously hes had problems or taken drugs and that but who hasn't, anyone who cant recognize such talent should put a razor lite album on. Would like to also say RIP Alan, he seemed like a true gent when I met him a very sad loss but it's very nice that peter has sung Alan's songs in his memory at various venues.
. From Houston to New Orleans, To the badlands way out west, A high rider way beneath the sun, When my work is done, There's no place I'm goin' to, That's the life of a Hired Gun, Sheriff and his posse they came riding after me, Spend my time living on the run, Well no good waiting for me, Left up to adore me, That's the life of a Hired Gun
Peter Doherty is such an underrated artist, lyricist, and solo/rhythm guitarist. Genius. Pure genius. I’m looking forward to Glasgow on 23rd. Go Libertines!
Alan was fucking perfect, dearly missed... I still visit the last message he ever sent me: "Cool man. Mid to trail end is perfect! I'm good mate, gonna have a quiet one Sunday!! Take it easy, speak soon x" Rip dude, big love xx
Alan is looking down buzzing with all the attention he gets now. Peter and myself always loved his boyish good looks and that's how he will always be, young and beautiful forever. RIP lots of love, Rob and Tracy xxx
Spent a few days with Alan at a Somerset party a year or two before his untimely death. One had the sense he was walking on a tightrope... RIP classic troubled tragic artist.
unbelievable...they are so smashed and Pete has shitted in his trousers! but it sounds so amazing! in this state I couldn t even talk and they sing and play guitar like gods xD awesome :D
RIP Alan man falling through a window wtf. Nothings guaranteed in life. Pete is THE only person cool enough to wear a silver Figaro chain on the outside of his shirt.
People, I guess Peter's just hoarse, but he didn't run away, he did this gig and didn't cancel it. I think that's what means courage and not running away.
I know RU-vid is just a place to leave comments without personal responsibility for them, but I hope you and your family never knows the horrors of that drug.

Their own gun, leave your army number and strip the gun, most only have one bullet, they ask how many you want to shoot. Had a good time with Dr krupt speaking Punjabi.
Always end up back here 🤦♂️ Pete is completely out of it,most would be nodding and he still makes something incredible like this, Alan was the nuts and bolts though, probably in as bad a nick too, gone too soon. Who would have thought out of this pair Pete would be the one still be about
How do I start? I appreciate Pete, as a fantastic musician, composer and songwriter very much. That he is absolutely my taste in men, that I mentioning only incidentally.:-) A lot of great artists, have an addiction problem, whether they are painters, writers or musicians. Many are sensitive and introverted and often create their best songs, if they are in a mental deep (Amy Winehouse is just one example), but exactly these kind of songs, we love much, cause they touch our souls. Today, the record labels perpetrate enormous pressure and who wants to be constantly in a depressed mood to be creative and write new songs? Drugs and alcohol are a simple means to compensate. It is sad to see Pete like this and one problem of heroin is, that you always think, you look normal, you act normal and no one sees that you are high. I wish him all the best and hope he will find his anchor to hold on
opecsporty wow your a smart girl. I'm a musician and I write poetry myself. Some of the best art is created living life on the edge. Your spot on about the music industry. They throw a few dollars at some starving kids and don't care if they get strung out just keep producing hits. My band isn't signed we turned down a few small time labels we are doing because we love it. If we make some money great.
He is working on a new album. I saw him perform a couple of days ago and he was in good shape. He played a new song which has not been released yet. It's called Cell Ceiling Blues and instantly became one of my favorites, check it out.
Alan Wass' verse from 2.40 - anybody knows what his singing? Not part of the official lyrics, but something that sounds like: "... As soon as I get back from New Orleans I still get a'Houston in my sights I've been a' high riding beneath the sun, keeping up the fight..."? That doesn't make complete sense, and I have no idea what comes after that?
ok i love pete. and if he is going to do drugs them so be it, but i think many of us just wish he would beat this god damn addiction and not have to worry about finding out that he is gone. i still love this performance. i just hope he gets better and really want him to because geez he is just such a big inspiration in music for me and i miss getting new material from him you know? i dont know, but i do know is that he needs a new album and to be drug free(as cheesy as it sounds)
