You must realize our United States only fought against the half the Chiricahua tribe. The White Mountain Apaches didn't like them and served as scouts against them to settle old feuds. Were it not for us exploiting various tribes traditional enemies against each other the 'winning of the West' would have been much harder. Smallpox and other diseases killed more Native Americans than all our wars.

Whata great story. I picked up a book in a 2nd hand store. The Trails of Pete Kitchen. I had never heard of him, but learned a lot. Real cowboy stuff! My favorite part, albeit short, was about Chise and Cochise. What dad wouldn't have made peace if he could. Youve made me highly aware of Pete's compassion. Ive yet to visit his ranch and museum but will soon. I live in Tucson. I have been to Cochise's Stronghold. Its incredibly spiritual. Thanks for this❤

WOW, I love this story! I hope it's as true as it sounds; especially concerning Kitchens' character. As a brit, I've realised that in years gone by, up until about 2000 (Spielberg and Hanks), Hollywood had never let the facts get in the way of a good story. It seemed like Kitchen treated people how he would've liked to have been treated himself. And I have to say that I ❤ this channel.

When You pair pictures of Chuck Connors as the Rifleman and a silhouette of a guy aiming a pump action shotgun with a historical account like this read like a up talking third week substitute teacher I begin to doubt the authenticity of those old photo’s. Maybe throw in a few pictures of fattened re-enactors. In those times when people burned calories growing , raising , butchering , preparing their food and there were no stores conveniences or law. People had to be agile and sinewy. Most people today would never be the wiser if You cast John Brown , Nathan Bedford Forest, David Farragut, Jeff Davis and Abe Lincoln Himself as the unlikely band of sentinels of a desert way station , but their images would be more true to the time. Sadly images of those same notable figures in our History could have their pictures put to photos of homeless Tweakers on Piñata Farms with nary a protest from ostentatious pseudo intellectual graduates of today’s institution’s of “ Higher” learning producing scholars that believe Memorial Day honors Gays who faced aids with courage.
