"The Main Ingredient" is my absolute favorite hip hop album ever... Even before "Illmatic" (sorry, Nas). This instrumental version should be protected at all costs. PR is a production genius.

I won this album from my local radio station in a questionnaire type thing about pete rock years ago and I still have it. What a fantastic album. Pete Rock is my number 1 if I had a list, the guy makes nothing but fire, just like 9th Wonder.

thanks so much for making this. Mecca & The Soul Brother and Main Ingredient are hip hop STAPLES that dont get talked about enough. The quality of these two albums is amazing. incredible beats with 100% lyrical flow, and the songs are LONG. Gold Standard for hip hop. Amazing quality, it never dies.

I always thought Pete Rock, Q Tip and Large Professor had a similar production style it's as if they had the same ears, they're like variants of one another from different perspectives. The main ingredient track sounds like something Q Tip produced and rhymed over as an example of what I am pointing out.
