Got my Captor X last week and was completely floored at how great this unit is! WOW!!! My mixes are coming out so incredible now. It’s as someone removed a blanket from the speakers and I can get that cookin’ tubes sound at meager speaking volumes… just so impressed by this! I had ordered several sets of the DynIR’s and just ordered “Pete’s pack.” I haven’t installed ‘em yet, but by the video here, I already know that I’m in for a treat! Thanks Pete! Holy cow Pete, these are amazing! And super well thought out in terms of cabs and speakers and mics, I think WoS is gonna need a “feeling Thorny” randomizer to just pull some surprises - and I’m sure they will all sound amazing. I pre ordered the Revolt which in turn got me looking at the Dyna IR’s. I’m a huge fan and long time follower of your channel so when I saw that you had a Dyna IR offering it pretty much became a no brainer and this video sealed the deal. Do you need like Pro tools to load this Pack or Two Fingers have a player you buy and download into my computer. What is the best thing to get if I buy some Packs. The tones sound like a lot of fun to play with. I have Eddies Frankie, not the 2007 but the $1,999.00 one and some custom shop strats Ive had for years. Love the Frankie, and it was the less cost one. Thanks, been watching you lately and your Tribute to Eddie was nice and you played His material well.

A port city cab with scumbacks? My man.. I've been gigging with an OS 212 port city with an H75 and M75 for over a decade and it's just untouchable! I've ordered a second Captor X so I'm definitely going to check this Dyn-IR pack out!
The 4050 mic sounds fantastic even on it's own. Great choice. Also really comes alive blended with some other mics. Been demoing these the past few days. The G12M Black is definitely my fave, followed by the PC M75.
I'm new to this IR game and in fact your pack is the first one i have bought ever! When we open up the IR's, is the Mic placement on the screen, the position you have chosen?

Great to see you involved with Two Notes! Could you talk a little more about the use of the package for more pop-oriented, less distorted tones, but more effects?
Pete, wow! I just stopped playing, guitar still around my neck to write this. These sound incredible! I was hesitant to buy more IR’s for my C.A.B M/Torpedo as I’ve bought a few and wasn’t that impressed from what already came with the unit. I was never really thrilled with any of them, they were good but not like how my amps sound through actual speakers. Always a weird frizzy top end, or a strange scoopy/comb filtered mid range and sometimes lows that lack definition. Always turning on the EQ to dial things out. Your IR’s put a smile on my face from the first chord, I can’t even pick a favorite yet, they all sound great! My amp sounds like my amp again! Maybe it sounds better than my cabs?
I've been very slow to get music recorded recently, but I did getmyself a Two Notes Cab M for when I got my proverbial s**t together! I've got an AC15 with an alnico blue, just like the doctor ordered. I'm guessing it will be easy to get a really nice capture using my amp and your IR of the alnico blue. I'm very keen to try a few of your IR's out. Congrats on the deal with Two Notes!

Absolutely fantastic! I bought a Captor X a little over a year ago, and it’s been a game changer...both for recording, and playing live. I can get a multitude of different amp and speaker tones, without having to drag waaaayyyyy too much gear to a gig or session. Really looking forward to trying out your DynIRs...especially digging the open-back with the blues in this video!

Very cool IRs. Awesome that they were done at Sunset. If you get the chance, I’m dying for an IR of that Marshall cab with the JBLs and the Greenbacks for the Van Halen stuff!!
Check out the George lynch pack as well- jbl and greenbacks. But for straight up 4-12” vintage blackback G12m tones (anything VH besides vh1) my pack slays!! Try em!
@Pete Thorn just wanted to say I got around to trying your black backs on here, and you were right, they are fantastic for all the other VH stuff. Thanks for steering me in the right direction, definitely going to buy.
Like the 441, if you ever get a chance to try an SM59 in lieu of a typical 57 I think you could give it a try. Another real sleeper and 180º from an SM57. Just look at the frequency plot and you'll see how ribbon like it is.
I've got a Cab M+ and WoS plugin and just the standard Two Notes sounds that came with the Cab M for recording at home via my Fryette Power Station. I'm well tempted to get your pack. Out of curiosity, got any recommendations of what PS settings you'd use (warm and bright switches) for the raw recording, before going into your DynIRs? Obvs there's the "try all of them" way of thinking, but too many variables of PS and DynIRs together can lead to a certain amount of option paralysis, so if I can narrow it down that helps. (Using a Diezel Hagen or Bogner XTC if that makes any difference)

I have the same Blackback`s 75hz from 70s too) Love them so much Can you tell, please, which positions do you use for other 3 mics on video (moment with blackback cab)? Sounds awesome, but I can`t get this sound in WoS plugin. I place all 4 mics in 15% distance and from center, but with my amp (Bogner Brixton) it sounds much darker and loose. Thanks!
You're a guitar gear geek. The whole damn chain. Pickup to cone. (You don't seem to geek out much about strings.) :-) I have a Two Notes Cab-M so I should be able to put these to use at some point.

Hi Pete, I'm using this Dyn-Ir today and i trying to copy the knobs positions on the video(sounds ammmmaaaazing)..the Dyn 409 and others Mics don't come in the pack? 👋
Just loaded them up! 100% colossal tones! Pete, quick question...when I load them up as-is...no tweaking them within Torpedo Remote yet...are those your preferred settings & configurations? They sound KILLER...I'm afraid to mess them up from what I'm guessing are your settings 😏
No they just load as a default position I think! You can move the mics around and tweak em and save as presets! The cabs/speakers just sound great. Try a 441 and 4050, panned center, and maybe 15 or 20% from center and 15% distance
@@PeteThorn Done! Used those 2 mics & suggested settings on both your greenback & blackback cabs and INSANELY righteous, Sir! I added the "enhancer" brilliance maybe to 10 o'clock and cut the lows a smidgen with the EQ. Just gorgeous thru my M-Audio studio monitors. I'll get my QSC wedge from my rehearsal space this week and test through there next. This is SO MUCH BETTER than mic'ing cabs for shows!! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO FOR US!
Do I understand correct , when you track using 2 xlr to your daw (multi mono or stereo) you can have one track for each mic you use from the IR and they are phase align?

No you can mix-and-match microphones using as many as you want. So if you just want one that’s fine if you want two you can blend them etc. Within their software
It really is so absurd how uncreative & robotic people R with imitating each other's ineficient mistakes rather than thinking rationally. What is a speaker doing other than altering the frequency response & dynamics? U can emulate all that very easily through free software like Reaper plugins, & even slap on some short echo things 2 emulate the messed up impulse response speakers always have. It's not necessarily the best sound though. Simply open your program & tweak the EQ to taste, then mess with the compression, even multi-band ones. It's so easy 2 do = WAAAY easier than sifting through '10,000 types of random bull$hit' in an 'emulator' program that is no, not really 'moving a mic around' or whatever. Should rename it 2 what it actually is = 'changing the wet/dry ambiance mix, & eq & compression & stuff. It would B nice if Pete got out of his whole 'speakers & amps' routine & focused on preamp stuff, because U can easily nail any 'amp tone' at line level with tubes & effects like I mentioned. U absolutely do not need 'speaker impulse samples'. U can do it all FREE! In fact, if U just get a decent distortion pedal it's better than any 'digital emulator' 4 that, becasue all the digital ones sound like jaggy krap lacking detail & 'fine grain' like many pedals have, but tubes R best =) Pete maybe U should put up a 'paid online series of videos' or something 2 explain 2 people how 2 get all these tones with cheap gear? Instead of playing the 'IR $cam'? =))
Show us what you’re talking about. In videos, with good audio. Start a RU-vid channel and demonstrate, as I do, the way you think things should be done. Scam, that’s strong words. Back it up with whatever it is you’re talking about- demonstrate. FWIW I was there when this process was done, it takes a few hours per speaker, moving microphones and sweeping tones constantly. It’s not random bullshit and it actually is virtually moving the mic. Perhaps you can sit in on a session where they create these and see for yourself like I have, how it’s done. It’s not EQ or “changing the wet dry mix” as you say. It’s complicated, detailed, and it takes a long time. But the results are a very accurate emulation of a specific microphone on a specific speaker in a cabinet and then of course you can combine different mic signals. Beyond all this, if it sounds good it is good, people need to worry less about HOW things are done. Who cares if it’s a real speaker, a direct signal, mic’d signal… If the part moves you and if it suits the music that’s all that matters
