I can only truly speak for myself, but I know many of my colleagues will agree...we don't get to play enough of "this" as often as we'd like. I remember when we played this the very first time, I was struck at how well-written the solo part at the beginning "lies" right in the "sweet spot" of the clarinet. Good music is easy to play....simple as that....Bravo Peter!!!!
I listened to this the other evening for the first time. I'd been thinking about my late mum a lot more just lately, then this came up as a suggestion. I just burst into floods of tears and again this evening. I can't describe how beautiful this song is to me. You're all so gifted, thank you ❤❤❤
Wow! I can't help but imagine these adult musicians when they were still in their preteens and just beginning to learn how to play their instruments. Simply nostalgic. And awesome.
Listening to this piece of music makes me imagine walking along a graveled country road toward a beautiful but quaint farmhouse. The sky is blue, the sun is bright, the wind is lightly blowing the leaves of the trees, and there are lush, green fields of grass all around. All I can hear is the wind occasionally rustling some leaves and the sounds of insects and birds.
