I love Crouch what a genuine nice guy and a baller! Massively underrated imo mate I've been a fan of his podcast also from day one and listen to them regularly now always has me in bits if he wasn't a footballer he could of definitely been a comedian 😀👍🏻
@@Jpm-uh2vw Im a Coventry fan ... unfortunately lol but i love footy in general me best mate is an Arsenal Fan and i remember going to watch Arsenal play Villa and also we went on a tour of highbury before it was taken down you guys had a lovely ground just a shame like all old grounds Covs included they were falling apart lol, yeah totally agree Crouchy is a legend ⚽️👌🏻👍🏻
@@Superteastain Get a grip its called being real and not portraying something your not if your offended by a swear word or swearing in genral one get a grip its the real world S#$T happens and two if you don't like it dont watch/listen 🤷♂️
As a Liverpool fan I have a special place in my heart for Crouchy. You could always see he was keen to get the team over the line and when the goals came they just got better and better but the effort was always there. Wished him well when he left and he always gave his all.
I've always found Peter Crouch to be a very decent person and with integrity and humility a rarity in the football world of today. He's also naturally funny.
I met Peter Crouch, years ago and what a genuine and fantastic person he is. Wears his heart on his sleeve and very funny. He indirectly inspired me to be a girl's football coach and give back to the community.
Who says you can’t be successful on social media these days without presenting a manufactured product and persona, just to be liked. One thing I like about you Stephen, is that you really resonate a genuine empathy with your guests. You also listen and give them the time to reply. That came through with Peter, who’s just a good bloke who comes across as though he’s chatting in his lounge at home. His secret is he’s just being real, without trying to do or say anything contrived to get more interest. Great interview, great guest and a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours listening.
Peter is only 6 months younger than me and I'm a life long Liverpool fan.... I was lucky enough to see him play at anfield on a few occasions, I remember the love in the crowd for the guy. He's big, he's red, his feet stick out of bed. We loved you then Peter, nothing has changed now. YNWA.
As a tall skinny man that people like to mention to me I couldn't have more admiration for the courage Peter has had.. Wish I was a teen listening to this would have helped alot for me ❤❤❤
Met Crouch in Dublin back when he was a young lad at Villa with Milner and Barry etc. Lad was an absolute gent.....exactly as friendly and decent as you see on cameras.

This one really surprised me. I love Crouchy, but this podcast made me love and respect him even more!
Don't think I've seen Steve laugh so much on a podcast, rfreshing story to hear, Crouch is obviously a positive person, who makes evryone else around them feel better too! Enjoyed this convo!
Despite the relegation, I have great memories of Crouch at Saints, he nearly single-handedly kept us up. He always interviews so well, a credit to the game.
I’ve lived in France for 20 years, so discover some of these guests as not following British culture too closely… some real treasures, some amazingly inspiring guests, many many life lessons! … loved this one, what a great, authentic, grounded guy! ❤
crouch has one of those laughs that light up his whole face and auroa, i hope it doesn't come accross as strange but it's such a heart warming thing to see. I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavours
@JamesDooney Embrace it bro and get used to it because alot of people will be intimidated by you because being tall is associated with being strong and masculine when reality height is out of our control
Such a likeable person who when feeling there worse can still lift others up. That is such an attribute to have in this life. Hoping he always has someone by his side who understands, loves and supports him
Love Crouch!!! He has the right attitude (in my humble opinion) towards Football and life. I'm a Gooner but you have to recognise class! Saw him a few times at the Emirates and he could really play! not just a long ball target. God bless
Peter Crouch to me is one of few footballers who played in the opposite team that you could help but love and respect..always did and i always will. Always was himself and ive have noting but totall respect foe the man...
Love this Peter, you are so joyful to listen to. This is what is all about. Do what you enjoy until it is not anymore. Don't push for things that it is not you. Be kind, be joyous, be purposeful. Amazing that you have a good work ethics. Live fearlessly, nothing matters, family and friends' good health are the most important. Human connections and helping others. Having each other and not being alone. You are such gentle giant. I love you for that Peter. Thank you for the interview Stephen.
as a lanky bastard meself always loved crouchy, showing his character and honesty outside of football has built on his legacy. Not many make it into the prem as he said and that goal at Stoke will always be one of the best I’ve ever seen along with cisse’s. might not have the best record or be the best. but he’s still iconic and one of the characters in the history of the prem
I’m so impressed by the variety of your guests and depth of conversations! Thank you 🙏 I’d love to see you have a discussion with Christopher Ryan - podcaster & author of Sex at Dawn, Nicole LePera - The Holistic Psychologist and Esther Perel - relationship counsellor.
I genuinely can't stand to hear Crouchy put himself down saying he's no where near as good as the Lampards And Gerrards of the world. He GENEUINLEY is a truly unique player and its not because of his height he was a unique ball playing striker. Huge respect to an idol Of mine
Crouch, Heskey, Beckham, Ashley Cole & Hargreaves were far more effective for England than Gerrard & Lampard ever were. Gerrard & Lampard's passing and ability to dictate possession was below average, so they needed Beckham & Ashley Cole to cross the ball and Heskey or Crouch as a focal point. At club level, they needed Drogba, Anelka, Xabi Alonso, Benayoun & Kuyt to do a lot of their dirty work
To my shame, I remember joining in with the freak chant as an 11 year old at a football match. It took me years to actually think about how nasty it was. As crouchy said, it feels completely normal in that environment and footballers seem untouchable. I do feel bad for joining in regardless. Sorry for my part in that.
the reason i ADORE this podcast is that it gives us a deeper, more meaningful look into "celebrities" that we think we know, but we actually don't know a lot of their stories and it's so interesting to hear. i love getting to know all the little insights. amazing podcast!!! ❤❤❤
It makes us all look back and realise that we are all normal. It's OK to have weird thoughts qnd feelings. Life a great joy when the going is good but it's when life is hard amd we are humbled that we truly realise what why and how to become better x
I saw him play when he was with Stoke: he came to Crawley for an FA Cup game. Up went the chant, "If Crouch can play for England so can I..." All banter of course as I respect the guy. His answer? He damn well scored :)
Under rated Crouchy he was a cracking player with better feet than heading ability and Totally agree that players should be celebrated more for making it in football disappointing to hear about people reaching their dreams and then getting abused it's just jealousy
Interesting hearing Crouchy talking about his Liverpool spell. I think of him doing really well at Liverpool and proving doubters wrong. Interesting how he sees things.
Loved this podcast. Peter seems like a really down to earth guy. As a Pompey fan and season ticket holder who lives about 3min walk from Fratton park, I can only hope we get back to the days of having players of this calibre and moral fibre. I also had the privilege of getting to work with Stephen producing some content with his partnership with Vodafone, and I can vouch that he is also a very down to earth and approachable guy.
I'm tall - female 5ft 10, my children are tall ,son 6 ' 6'' , daughter 6' . My children- now young adults have people every day ask them , like Peter, how tall are you? always in a negative way as if they are freaks, and more than once a day. It is abusive and knocks confidence. It is the first thing people say when meeting us. I'm so sick of it. I now challenge it, if possible - simply ask them not to say it. Think about if your average height or short- everyone looks like you or thinks your cute. Being tall you stand out and are definitely treated more harshly.
Brilliantly done , open and honest from both ends. I noticed that Crouch pulled you out of your usual structured self and you appeared more at ease and far more open. 👍👏
I love the details put into preparation for this podcast. Even down to crouches chair being slightly taller. What an example of how to create the perfect podcast. Well done sir
Winnie Wallace...What a smashing fella you are Pete.. Don't change one little bit about yourself. Laughter is such a wonderful thing and you use it in abundance.
I've always said about crouchy what a brilliant player he was he held the ball up well and hardly gave it away not to mention some of the spectacular goals he scored such a genuine guy thumb's up Peter 👌💪💪💪💪
I have seen many footballer interviews and Crouch as a player might not even be in my top 50 of alltimes but I can say that this might be the best interview Ive seen with a footballer. Kudos, you just won a subscriber I'm happy that Crouch got a career football as he always seemed like a likeable guy.
So glad that PC has come through all the difficulties…when others are rude and abusive it reflects on them ..they are deeply unhappy and are unaware that what goes round goes around….abuse another and sooner or later it will come back to you and greatly multiplied. I support Everton but have been really disgusted by some of the fans abuse to players and in particular to Rafa, especially the last season …no need for any of this..ever. Brilliant video ..thanks so much to both of you. I hope this could be shown in schools or even a film made out of it so it makes people more aware of the harm they do and following the crowd or whatever the reason for being abusive is very weak.
Peter Crouch 🫡. Thank you for your sharing the Real lives of Footballers and of your personal life. ' Never Change You ', A Respected Footballer, A Suberb Football Pundit and A Down - To - Earth & Naturally Funny All Round Man. 👍 🦁. YNWA. from Liverpool UK 🦁
I've just watched the Gary Neville interview, now watching this. Fantastic channel!!! Thanks for bringing this kind of content to us. I've now subscribed and looking forward to the future content and enjoying the rest of your previous content. Thanks again, keep up the good work.
David from Edinburgh here, never been a football fan growing up, obviously knew who the top guys were like Peter, Ronaldo, Ginola and guys like that were but i always remember after the world cup beimg at Alton Towers and strangely enough a group of middle aged men came up to me who for so.e reason mistaken me for Peter aggressively pushed me around and one of them spat in my face!!! After that done a bit of researched and was absolutely flabergasted on how this kind hearted honest hard working gentleman has been treated in the public eye, this is by far one of the best podcasts ive ever watched and Peter if you read this mate, from a non football fan your an absolute LEGEND!! ❤
What a surprising gem of a conversation... Just a really lovely vibe. Got a good couple laughs in especially towards the end. Well done! Great interview and really quite heart-warming and kind. I'm not even in to football, but this makes me want to go and watch a couple games now!
"I am who is am, and shaped by my parents and my Friends!" what a quote! Steven what an Interview!!! my friend, this is fantastic. And how lucky are you to interview the big PC!! congratulations to you is well and truly deserved! See you next week.
I’m a die hard Gooner,Crouchy you are legend I’ve read your books listen to your podcasts (👍😂😂😂) absolutely brilliant, you have the gift of being able to laugh at yourself, not a bad football career was it and what you doing now, that’s not too shabby either is it,best of luck to you and your family, one piece of advice mate DON’T LET THE BASTARDS GRIND YOU DOWN 👍👍👏👏🥊🥊
I'm a very tall/thin guy just like Peter. Even today at work I was told I look like him. Peter is a top lad. So very likeable. It's just so sad that people think it's acceptable to look down on you for your appearance. People can be horrible. I remember overhearing a gym bunny guy referring to me as a "poor unfortunate" a few years ago while at Gatwick Airport. I often get snide remarks, wry smiles/smirks off people when in public and the only thing I can put it down to is my appearance. I wish I had half as much confidence as Peter and I truly wish people wouldn't be so judgmental.
I knew of Crouchy in the Spurs reserves before he became pro. He is very likeable and has a good personality. A lot of footballers these days don’t really have that, come across one dimensional
England fans can be absolutely disgusting. They don’t care about winning because if they did they would know that calling people names, bullying the players, trolling the players and their families whilst they are on and off the pitch is not going to give them the confidence to play better. The media and fans are sometimes the worst part of the sport.
I knew very little about Peter Crouch or the world of football before this. It was fascinating. What a likeable guy. Very authentic and reflective. I wouldn't entirely agree with his position on some of the negative behaviours he experienced in others but that's ok. That has really set me up for a good day. Thank you!
Love Crouchy, love what you did at Stoke ! and met him in Manchester airport after our flight back from Dubai, superb guy x keep driving forward ... i hear theres a space coming up at man united
I remember being at Southampton watching saints play and seeing crouchy warming up and thinking how out of place he looked and questioning why we signed him. Then he came on and showed how good he was. His first touch and ball control was AMAZING! Great player!!!
The height thing is real. I’m 6’6 and everywhere you go I get ‘big fucker you are aren’t you’ but when you’re in the boozer and some pissed bloke says that, it sounds like a threat like everyone wants to take on the big lad.
I once saw Peter Crouch on the tube. My mate said "look its Peter Crouch" and crouchey looked up from his phone nervously and then I said "shhhhh don't be so loud, he hears you" and then everything just went back to normal. I'm actually surprised he didn't mention it on here.
