@@foutleslie919 David Benioff and Dan Weiss, the head writers of the TV show adaptation of Game of Thrones. The only seasons that were any good were the ones author and creator George R. R. Martin gave the two advice and story outlines. After that stopped the show fell off a cliff.

Yes, I agree. His performance while there was still books to adapt to the screen, is fantastic. He nearly became a mute for the rest of the series or his dialogue just was not quality anymore.

It would have been great if they made Tyrion a villain, just like in the books, well at least it is hinted there. If he was the one who drove Dany into destroying kings landing it would have been much better

Yeah the first four seasons were excellent. Then it began to decline in quality. Season 8 was bad, but the decline began in season 5.

In fact, one of my main beefs with the last two seasons (and that's a full herd to choose from, let me tell you) is how dirty they did Tyrion. Tyrion used to be the smart one. I'm happy to see Peter Dinklage move on to greener pastures, I'm so looking forward to Cyrano.

I also think he really resents being put solely under the spotlight like he is in 1-2-1 American talk shows. He’s a very private person and doesn’t enjoy being probed about personal things. I can imagine the more laidback format that allows him to riff on other people with his wit is much better suited to him

Americans understand dry humor. I mean Peter is American ...he developed that humor living here. Maybe what you're seeing is based on the direction giving to the audience. Behind the scenes some talk shows instruct their audience when to laugh and react. I'm not sure if that's still a common practice but it was at one point.

@@pedro6720 I don't think many do that anymore, I've been in Graham Norton's audience 3 times, and when I went to the states I went to see Colbert and Seth Meyers, and both didn't have anything like that. It could be the other American ones though.

Imo he started being uncharacteristically dumb from season 5 and just kept kinda declining.

He was the smart one. In the latter seasons he just talked smart but was often outsmarted.

@@hlewis5847 yup dumb and dumber showed pretty quickly, after the there were no books to copy from, that they don't know how to write these characters even after so many years and were to prideful to get help from actual experienced writers. When they said several years ago that they had no experience before the show got green lit by HBO, that should have been a warning to us all.

@@aspannas Those two did well getting the show green lit for sure, but they should have left the project as quickly as they could and handed it to people that could actually write.

Let's be honest here, Daenerys got the most traction in social media, sold most merch, had the most season finale's and Emilia's voice was used extensively in the season trailers. People love dragons. Hence why House of the dragon is so far the only spinoff.

We tend to mirror people around us, and it's not always a conscious decision. I'm from SW Missouri and I spent a week in Los Angeles with friends and when I flew home, the guy at the airport parking garage said "So how was California?" Apparently, I'd picked up a SOCAL accent without realizing it.

@@jumhed994 not only kids. You live somewhere where people have a different accent and most people will automatically use the same accent over time. It's completely normal if you are involved with the community there.

The maternal side of my family is Welsh. I currently live in England, but when my mum and grandad (RIP grandma) go back to Wales, their Welsh accents start to come out.

I don't agree with your assessment of Tyrion and his importance, in fact it was the exact opposite. He was the drunk dwarf shunned by his family and not taken seriously in the first few seasons and so he made his own path and went directly against the family who cast him as the drunk dwarf. He came into his own and became his own man apart from his family name. You got it backwards. You maybe binged it too fast because you missed a lot.

@@vaskylark Yes he was a drunk, but by the end of season 1, his father made him the hand of the king, after saying had been wrong about him. In season 2, as hand of the king, he outplays all those around him, (sends Janos Slynt to the wall), and shows just how good at politics he really is. It's in the later seasons that his decisions are average at best, far from the earlier Tyrion who was always 2 steps ahead.

I was saying it's the exact opposite. He was hugely important in the later seasons once he struck out on his own and stopped trying to get respect from Daddy Lannister.

That's human nature. If something isn't continually impacting our lives, we tend for forget about it and move on. It's how the brain of most living things works. Purely biology.

For me it was the disappointing last season that killed the show.

@@jackala2783 While I don’t disagree, in this particular case it’s definitely how the final seasons ended up, particularly how rushed to get it over with it felt. Kills many people’s interests to rewatch, and much positive discussion about it.

@@zeke4994 I agree. If the show hand an epic widely received as positive ending the show would still be talked about a lot more. When a show as good as GOT completely bombs the landing people do not like thinking about it again. It also ruins rewatching the show again, because you know it all gets ruined in season 8.

@@claudiabailey5302 Depends on the circumstances. Tyrion was the deformed, dwarfed son of the most powerful family in Westeros. We've seen how he is viewed and treated by his own and all things considered, he turned out the better one.

If you haven’t seen the video of the first script reading of the last episode, it’s brutal.

Some times the accent was particularly pitiable. 😄 But I always knew most of the actors were getting sick of doing the same role for 10 years. Which is a large part of why the ending was accelerated.

I mean Kit got a minor character role in eternals with about 6 min of dialog in a 2.5 hour movie but mostly not a single one of them have done squat unless you consider voice acting for some video games.

I am not from a native English speaking country and I absolute LOVE the Irish accent. Irish and Scottish accents are so beautiful. To be honest, the American accents are the worst and Americans know it. Every time a character needs class or wisdom, they give it some kind of an English accent :)

He may have performed well, but he doesn't seem to regard his character's virtues and just actions in a positive light. Troubling that he considers Tyrion's insecurities and public reputation as confirmation of his lowliness because that's what nearly every character in the show does to Tyrion. This makes me question his performance considering he played the part of a flawed but just man, tortured by his conscience and circumstances. Tyrion's conscience is what makes him relatable. His will and decisiveness to use political power as a public good, rather than for his own interests says more than Tyrion's words, though the character is well spoken and reasonable.

yeah it all wound up too fast it was almost an afterthought , no plan at all to end it until it ENDED

@@kantraxoikol6914 : even before season 8, Peter had to suffer through scenes where his character’s intellect seemed to have disappeared and the things that the other actors had to enact, just didn’t have the cohesion that was there when the books had direct influence on them.

Too many people jumping on the bandwagon that the show was ruined and the show sucked because of season 8. The ending was rushed for sure, but all in all it was still an amazing show even with the rushed ending.
