He was never a villian he was just misguided and desperate, then one thing led to another and he had no choice cause he was already considered a criminal some people think its the end when their record gets tainted
@@s0badit’s not an excuse & the whole point is that he doesn’t have good gun control, he was scared for his daughter’s health and I’m sure this was the first time he’d taken a life, it’s not meant to be perfect.
Sandman is arguably my favourite villain in terms of his personality. He never was a bad person, but circumstances forced him to pursue an unpleasant life. Plus a father will do anything to ensure his daughter is happy and healthy so it touches ❤
Exactly, I hate when people say it's nostalgia because when I rewatch these movies with a clean mindset I just genuinely enjoy them more. Great story telling, great sound track, great emotion, fantastic actors, and great comedic timing but not overdone.
@Breath310 his daughter was dying he only told Ben to get out of the car he didn't mean to shoot Ben either every single solitary thing he did was for his daughter.
@Breath310i actually like his argument a lot better. not only does it very quickly and accurately describe you, but your response is to bitch and whine about it. habhdyst-1 breathe-0 try again
Bro this comment section is so dumb it doesn't matter if his daughter was sick or not he still chose to do bad he might not be a villain but he isn't necessarily a good person either. 😑
This shows that he’s not just the giant villain known as sandman, but merely a human being who has made some mistakes and bad choices. His daughter was dying. And even after everything that happened, Spider-Man forgave him. Because Spider-Man stands for something. He shows us that we may never forget, but we can choose to forgive. That is why Spider-Man is such a good hero. He sees his “villains” as people, as human beings. With great power there must also come great responsibility.
This is why spidey is such a great superhero. He is emotional, but empathetic. Imagine the strength and courage you need to forgive thr man who killed your uncle
Its funny how almost all spider man movie villains arent actually villains but rather got there through an incedent (doc ock, sandman, green goblin) or are close friends to him like harry or connors. Man i feel so bad for peter everytime i think about it
@@Tarnished5Leafbro Norman literally showed more respect and admiration to Peter than his own son. It wasn’t until after he took the green serum he became like that.
Yeah and when he flipped to the wrong side, he did it almost begrudgingly. Like he felt like he wasn't sure. And when he was healed, his expression almost gave off some gratitude. Because now when he goes back to the Tobey-Verse, he can actually hold his daughter again
@@justaverage5207Brian Michael Bendis said he created Miles because he hated Peter Parker because he was white and Miles is to replace him. He did the same when he created Riri Williams/Ironheart. Then it was released that Insomniac is to replace Peter with Miles after Spiderman2. They really do wanna get rid of Peter but us fans know we will never accept that.
They did right by the character, he has always been Spidermans most sympathetic villain and they finally made him the way he should have been made the whole time
This is why Toby is like the wise older brother in No Way Home, because he is the only one to come full circle and get the closure he needed, for each of the people he lost.
Rami wanted another 6 months of reshoots to make the film better, and Sony refused. My biggest issue with SM3 is the Sandman arc and Venom Arc do the same things. Sandman does a thing. Venom does a similar thing.
If Venom wasn't in it and either the symbiote crawled away to imply Venom in a potential Spider-Man 4 or just wasn't in the movie, I believe it would've been good. They clearly put more effort into the Sandman plot.
He reminds me of Batman in moments like these. He sees the humanity in villains. Even in Far From Home, despite Green Goblin murdering Aunt May, he still knows Obsorn is in there, and he can't kill him.
This wasn't just a conversation with Sandman and Spider-Man, but with Flint Marko and Peter Parker. Not their hero/villain personas but their actual identities. Flint is confessing his side of the story and Peter is looking past the danger to the city, all the sand, all the prejudice, to hear, understand, and process that this villian has his story, his hardships just like every other citizen he protects in the city, like what happened to Harry and all the others he has encountered. They both address "the man behind the mask" and find closure after all their pain. Remarkable moment.
This Flint had the single most heartfelt story that needed to be shown.. an example that nothing goes the way we plan, and not everything we do is our choice, but we must continue on regardless and own our worst mistakes or we can never escape our darkest moment…
that is pretty much debatable. If you break down any villain to their roots there is always some tragic story involved that makes the poeple act like they do. By the end of the day you do bad things and even potentially kill others. There is no other definition needed for bad guy
Sandman then turns into sand and slowly disappears from Peter's sight, just like the guilt , grief and pain he still had in him after years of his uncle's death. Love that scene.
It really did but I’m also torn on it. On one hand it had too many villains so none of them got as much time as they deserved. On the other hand, in hindsight without a Spider-Man 4 it was important that Harry’s story come full circle and pay off the end scene of Spider-Man 2. Sandman was the best villain in the movie and should’ve had his own movie. Venom was completely underused and basically just a visually-impressive (for 2007) CGI goo monster with no character. But for Harry and Sandman’s arcs to end in redemption that they got, there needed to be a villain that was JUST bad. The needed at least two villains, one sympathetic and one just evil, to set the stakes higher than the previous two and also differentiate the sympathetic redemption of a villain from Doc Oc’s sacrifice in 2. So if you change it, the option would be A: remove venom since he was underused and make either Sandman or Harry the bad villain that the other unites with Spider-Man to fight. Or B: keep venom and remove Sandman because Harry HAD to follow in his father’s footsteps after the previous movie set it up. But then we wouldn’t have gotten the amazing villain that was Raime’s Sandman. Spider-Man 3 is messy but I still prefer how it turned out to those two obvious alternatives. Especially since it ended up being the end to the trilogy, it was important that Harry’s arc wrapped up, and nice that we got Sandman, even if it meant that using Venom as an uninteresting main villain for the characters to unite against. 🤔
@@derrickdaniels3955 No, you are incorrect. In the mainstream DC Comics continuity, Bruce Wayne does not forgive Joe Chill, the man who killed his parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne. The murder of his parents is the pivotal event that drives Bruce to become Batman, dedicating his life to fighting crime and seeking justice. His inability to forgive Chill is a significant aspect of his character's motivation and the darkness that often accompanies his quest for vengeance. However, interpretations of this event can vary across different media adaptations, including comics, movies, and television shows. In some versions, Bruce confronts Joe Chill, while in others, Chill's fate and Bruce's reaction to him are depicted differently. Generally, the theme of Batman grappling with forgiveness and the impact of his parents' murder remains central to his story.
I love how people say now Toby was the best spiderman still. Yet before all everyone did was mem him saying how bad he was. Funny how people grow up and realize how good these actually were and changed their minds
I mean, they pretty much did the same thing with Andrew and Tom. I think it's just a Spiderman ritual at this point to be watched, hated, memed, liked, then nostalgic for.
I don't know what you're talking about... Other than Spiderman 3 - which was pretty terrible and memeable - they were pretty universally loved and he was well liked.
"I'm not asking you to forgive me, I just want you to understand" This. This carried me through some of the hardest situations. I understood why and how they did what they did. It didnt mean i forgave them.
My German cousins could not believe the premise of this movie, that Sandman had committed the crimes due to medical bills. "He must live in a scheisshole country without national health."
The thing that this movie gets wrong is by not having it be required by law for doctors to preform life saving treatment because irl it is required by law for doctors to do that
"To forgive is to hand justice over to God. When we forgive, we free ourselves from what was done to us. We take the power from those who wronged us. Forgiveness is for us, not others. Only God can hold them accountable." Lilia Pack Martindale. Love you, Nano. I'll miss you. 💔😭
Reflecting on the poignant scene where Peter forgives Sandman, it’s truly heartwarming to understand his motives. It wasn’t a mere defiance of the law; it was a desperate father’s act to save his daughter’s life. This depth of character, where one is willing to sacrifice everything for their loved ones, is what makes Sandman such a compelling and relatable figure. His redemption through Peter’s forgiveness adds a layer of wholesomeness to an already rich narrative.
Out of all the Sam Raimi Spidermen films, this scene was my favorite. Sandman was just an ordinary person in the life of crime, and yet he's directly responsible for Spiderman's creation. No other shenanigans, no crazy plot twists, just a genuinely heartfelt scene from both characters.
I was a kid when I watched and the only feeling that i got from this was anger because back i thought a villain will always be a villain. Then after i webt through a few yeara of life. Bruh im only 22 and i understand so much that someone my age shouldn't have to go through. Then I came up with a motto for myself. "You can't have the good without the bad." Every person is a villain in someone's story but a hero to someone else
It's not about inflicting pain. It's about inflicting pain when it's deserved. When one repents that's when pain is no longer needed , because pain is for those who don't see a punishment for their mistakes.
@@justkeepmovingforward.3888 it's more about make one self feel the relief, it dosent matter if the killer regrets or not and deserves or not its if you feel that relief and the obsession for the revenge is removed.
A lot of people forget how deep the 3 Spiderman movies where . Besides all the action. It had deep meaning of what it is to have so much power and yet use it to help others .
The first to apologise, is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest. And the first to forget: is the happiest. Forgive others not because they deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace.
Batman and spider man are my favorite superheroes. Batman cause he’s the first I ever watched movies over as a kid, but in my view he shares some aspects with Spider-Man. The line from uncle Ben about great power comes great responsibility and the continuous growth that Peter goes through living up to those words are something that we can apply in life. I love these movies and watching Peter’s character grow as a person which then makes him a better hero.
Spider man the most realest most purest hero there is he lost it all and yet is still out here with a smile saving life's and forgiving them too real one
Every fucking comic portrays sandman as an evil dude with a backstory that makes you go "yeah that makes sense". He's always a weirdly wholesome villain.
This is why Tobbey spiderman is the best spiderman movie. Its not just quick talking and actions. The spiderman himself look like ordinary nerd guy, not handsome model guy.
The only spiderman movies that holds up and will stand the test of time thanks to the cgi work being perfectly blended with film tricks and actual sets and props unlike what we get today
