Marty, I cannot thank you enough for this lesson. Classic song, from a classic album. Have been looking for a proper lesson for years, and you have come through. Thank you again!
@Guitar Jamz. Chorus, Do You You Feel like I do, the Chords are D Fadd9 C G D then repeat. I can hear Fadd9, then after I watched a live concert, I noticed that the G was added to the Chorus Chords. Still a good lesson Marty because this is one of those songs that I'll have to divide the tab up because of how he plays it. Thank you for uploading it....
Sorry Monty, didn't see your comment....I agree. That F add 9 is the secret sauce of the chorus. When I played it in 7th grade I could never figure out the right chord. lol
Could you please please please do a tutorial for fly at night my chilliwack and also a tutorial on moon shadow by cat stevens!??? greatly appreciate all your videos!
Thank you soooo much Marty, I've been wanting to see this for a long time. No one has done a How to Video on this song. IMHO, such a rockin solo, just a rockin song Brings back memories of my Senior year in HS.
Marty, I've been watching various stuff of yours lessons for a few years now and you always somehow surprise me in the beginning I watched you a little bit and I just said oh yeah he's he's a pretty good average player but then you would like I say surprise me throwing a curveball throw in a song that nobody else was giving a lesson for a song that I love but nobody else had a lesson for it and like this song here Frampton's Do You Feel Like We Do his Comes Alive album was like I killed I flatten out a vinyl album playing it so many times anyway there's other guys that give a lesson for Do You Feel Like We Do but you played all these different little licks and things that he does in there.... once again man, you are a CREDIT to guitar players, and a GEM, a RESOURCE, for guitar players EVERYWHERE ! ROCK ON, MARTY! 🎸😁
Marty, Rick Beato just did his 100th what makes this song great.. Yea it was this song. Rick has a talk with Petwr on where he got the idea. Great song tnx for the insight, Chris
i love your lessons so much, you have helped me to learn a loot of songs! now i want to learn how to play the regulator by clutch, could you please make this lesson?
Marty - You're great, and play a lot more songs than I do... But the Chorus chords go D, Fadd9, C, G, and then back to D again... When he sings. "Do you, YOU!".... That second YOU is when he hits Fadd9... it kind of "makes it"... Just a small F, with your pinky on the first string, third fret.... Rock On ..... 👍
Marty, Ace frehley is living in San Diego you should see if you could get him as a guest host or a suprise teacher. that would be cool and you could paint yourself up like the starman
I know you're aiming this lesson more towards beginners, and it's quite good, but I suggest once viewers master the power chords here, on the lead in to the chorus Frampton does a little walk-up classic thing ("Do it again!") A, D/A, A7, then on the chorus D on "Doooo, you..." and F add 9 on "YOU!", just add pinky on third fret on high e string and that's what Frampton. does. So simple but makes it magical. As for the leads, well that's varsity stuff. Frampton is a master. He's more of a jazz soloist on this song.
Ty wanted to relearn this song for a while now btw going to see Frampton tomorrow along with opening act Jason Bohnam Led Zeppelin experience should be pure awesomeness
at 15:06 on the "variation" the 6th is raised back to the natural position instead of staying flat within the Dminor scale.... entering the dorian mode for a bit, think of it as entering the Gmajor scale from the Dminor. my guess... lmk if i'm wrong. this is what gives it a dark flavor with tension for that brief moment because tonal negative space between the flat 7th and the flat 6th is removed leaving only a half step between 6 & flat 7.
Outstanding Mr OB1 on the Gold top Deluxe.. Q. what year is that Beauty OB1? i ask because 1977 my brother pre ordered his 1st The 25th Anniversary issue Goldtop. he still has it ooking just as good. Thanks and Play on. OB1

Hey thank you for all these lessons really appreciate it, I have a request because I really like the song and I seem to can't find a video with someone teaching it, it's called khe sanh.
Cool! Loving these lessons, they are easy to understand, and sound terrific! Just wondering if you knew 'Moonage Daydream' by David Bowie, it's a great classic and I would like you see your solo interpretation of the song! Thanks!!
Just a suggestion, when you played the whole bit at the end I think you could have played that at the start and then explained it note for note after that. Less confusing for us and for you, other than that Thank-you for the lesson.Play the whole tune first slow no talking, then go through the technical stuff if that makes sense
Ha-ha I'm the same way as you. I like to pick out the best little riffs or solos of a song since I can't be bothered to learn the whole thing. (Plus my attention span is really short)
I think I want to decide on getting a MIM strat or a Epiphone Les Paul Studio. What would I be better off with? I'm tilting slightly towards the strat. I've been playing for 4 years, but I'm on a budget so I can't go and get a $1000 guitar. I've been playing an Ibanez ARZ that I got for $500 2 years ago, and I'm not really feeling it. The thing is, ive'd heard that the MIM strats don't like heavy distortion, and I play a lot of older punk rock and grunge. I was thinking about getting the strat and replacing the bridge pickup with a seymour duncan humbucker. What do you guys think I should do? My budget's about $600.
Calum Hawksworth Ok, thanks for your opinion. I'ved played one before and I really liked the feel. They're a lot heavier than my current guitar, which I don't see as a problem. I like how the pick guards come off the guitar.
Buy a used Mexican strat and upgrade the pickups. I've got a '98 MIM that I bought for 400 and I've got all american electronics and pickups put into it and it's got a very versatile sound range. All in all I've spent a total of about $640 on it and it's my pride and joy.
Hey guys I've never had lessons so forgive my noob question, but how should I bend to keep the string next to it ringing slightly when I come off the bend?
Sorry Marty - love your videos - but this intro lesson is flat out wrong. When Peter plays the higher version of this lick - he doesn't go as high as the 13th fret as you suggested (@11:48). at least not yet - no in the intro. You can see this in the Midnight Special performance (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y7rFYbMhcG8.html). LeadSolo's intro lesson (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2EILKsScdLk.html) is more accurate to the Frampton Comes Alive record version. Also - glossing over the "licks" is pretty uncool with your suggestion of "play whatever you want" -- the point of a lesson is to teach a duplication of the song. Teasing us by playing the lick but not teaching it kind of defeats the purpose of a lesson, doesn't it?
If your mimicking this song from the album “Frampton Comes Alive” then you’ve played this nearly all wrong. Sorry to be so negative but I’m a stickler for perfection and your replication of this song is wrong.
