This was their wedding song and my mom passed 3 years ago, she should have 64 now. And even if they divorced long before that, my dad listens to this song once every day since. I feel you, he surely was a man of good taste and a great person.

Saw a Peter Gabriel concert on Sky Arts last night. Was drawn by the haunting beat of Biko sending shivers up my spine, then this song came on and I thought two great artists with totally unique and recognisable voices working well together.

As much for its creativity (songwriter, singer, musician, showman) in the original Genesis as for its brilliant evolution in his solo career between technology, world music, experimental sounds with always melodic rock. More, Peter Gabriel is very generous because he gives the opportunity to sing to Youssou'N' Dour and to dance to the African dancer Manitou. Don't forget that's Peter Gabriel who said to Phil Collins: "Yes, you are our drummer (of Genesis)". Peter Gabriel sang also with the great like stars Kate Bush, Sting and Sinead O' Connor.

Very few songs hit me deep with emotions like this. I literally break into tears everytime i hear this. Songs have differnt meanings to us. This hits deep for the love i have sacrificed raising my kids and grand kids. God bless Peter Gabriel for making this 61 yr old man cry in love

Complete and utter genius...Past ages were blessed to have had this caliber of excellence in Beethoven ,Mozart , Stravinsky..there is a level in humans that exceeds above and all in creativity and magnificence..Peter Gabriel is right up there with a crown...along with Kurt Cobain, Kim Morrison, David Byrne, Springsteen....how blessed we are!
He is so talented and entertaining. He really knows how to put on a show! So much energy from everyone. Rehearsals must be pretty intense, the whole concert is choreographed, and done really well. He fully understands that putting on a good concert is so much more than just playing the music like so many other bands do. And his videos are so great too. He is genius!

Y por suerte para nosotros, por ser el último show de la gira, por la grabación para la televisación mundial, y por el background de 19 shows previos en 6 semanas, su set fue afiladísimo, incluyendo la puesta con la que giró 14 meses por el mundo presentando su album SO con sus luces robóticas, la banda, la presencia de L . I was fortunate enough to grow up in north Jersey and literally see close to 100 concerts as kid in NY/NJ area. I saw Peter Gabriel at Madison Square Garden late 80'ies. Definitely in the top three shows of all time
Amnesty International and the world music have a great importance for Peter Gabriel. However, the English gentleman Peter Gabriel was very well educated in a musical family (private Charterhouse College) in Surrey and could learning piano, flute, percussions, mime and dance. But his major asset will forever remain his charismatic voice for the producers. I have never seen Peter so happy to sing.... with his friend Youssou'n'Dour and his African dancer Manitou. Manitou is really incredible! Now, Peter Gabriel is now finishing his new album.
I saw the both of you in J.F.K. stadium Philadelphia Pennsylvania....from the back of the bowl. It was the Largest Stadium on the East Coast. ✌👍👍👍 Excellent Memory.

A couple years ago this video was nowhere to be found on RU-vid. And now I've just realized it came back! This is one of my favorite live performances that I've seen (not personally- born too late for that!), and a major inspiration to me as a musician/performer myself. So much love & joy contained in one song, on one stage. Peter Gabriel will always be one of my favorite musicians.
I distinctly remember this being played on mtv back in 1989 summertime.A group of friends lived on hampton beach and the tv ran mtv 24-7.This video was on a lot that summer twice daily.Everytime it came on the whole houseload would start dancing,it was this moment I realized peter was the king of music.

I'm sobbing while watching this. My husband died last year and we used to watch and listen to everything available by these amazing people. He was a professional musician who toured the world. The lyrics are more profound to me more than ever. I was most fortunate to see this live. My Brother in law took me to the concert for my birthday. I miss looking into my husband's eyes.
:)) I really couldn't believe this title when I saw Youssou N'dour and Peter Gabriel making a song together. I discovered Peter Gabriel through my father, and instantly loved his music. Youssou N'dour, I discovered during French class last year during the Manie Musicale 2022, in his featuring in the French song called "L'ours" by Christophe Mae and him. This style of blended cultures' music is amazing.
This was such a highlight of human collaborative creativity and it is still making me very emotional. After soooooo many years. thank you for THESE MOMENTS, Peter Gabriel ❤️
