God, and they're brothers-in-law too. I imagine there's been some awkward Christmases in the years since, because surely Joe must have realised eventually that Mark effectively torpedoed their company here.

Business partner was too affected by the arrogance of the Dragons, fact is, its not a great idea and they needed a major boost in cash and influence to make it work. Should have taken Peter's offer.

These guys are no longer operating. Shut down in the mid-2000s. The product appears to still be on sale on Amazon (don't know the company behind it now) but it has horrible reviews.

As a golfer I couldn’t think of a worse way of carrying my clubs. It’s not even a new idea. There used to be a contraption like this years ago, it was held like a brief case but similar otherwise. What happens if it rains? How do you keep your clubs dry? Where do you keep your accessories, wet weather clothes etc? A golfer knows what he needs. This is not something that is required. I’m out.

Can’t seem to find any information on the company at all (other than a feature in a golf blog under ridiculous golf item of the week). Looks like they kept their 100% (80%) of nothing.

I've played a lot of golf in a lot of places. I have never seen anyone using one of these.

The second guy is getting a monthly wage for doing nothing. If he doesn't make sales, he subsidises his wages from the owners pocket. Of course he doesn't want things to change.... The owner needs to wake up.

I bought one of these at a golf show and it was really good, for a while. In the summer sun the plastic frame got too hot, softened and it completely collapsed dropping the clubs everwhere. I had to carry my clubs under my arm for the rest of the round, then chucked it in the bin afterwards!

Whenever a person pitching receives an offer then says” what could you offer me” I cringe at their insulting behavior and lack of common sense.

Where are you meant to put your tees, golf balls, pitch repairer, jumpers, golf jacket, golf gloves etc Most people that play golf have their bags stuffed with accesories

It's a product which promotes one's worst golfing nightmares - wet grips, and is incapable of storing all of one's essentials eg. waterproofs, hat, food, drink etc. With electric trollies and carts 'weight' is really not a significant golfing issue.

If the marketing lead guy hadn't had equity, I think Peter would have made firing him a condition of the deal. The guy is in charge of sales, but is only selling 2 a day on average. He gave away 1000 clubs but only sold 1250. Then, he leaves his brother to do the sales pitch to the Dragons without him, and when the brother actually succeeds, turns down every proposal Peter makes. I wouldn't be surprised if he just wanted the free publicity, but his brother thought he actually wanted a deal.

I would decline doug richard no matter what he offered. Not that he ever offers in the first place

I think it was unfair for Peter to ask for the man to quit his job that monday, the man may not even have any sort of emergency fund and Peter didnt exactly offer him a wage as part of the deal. Other than that it was a generous deal specially from Peter!

This is a clear cut example why you should run your business solo.

BIG Mistake from the investees. They could have been millionaires from that deal but the Inventor's friend is ignorant and child-like to the inventor's detrement.

What a complete plonker of a business 'partner'.. If he was my brother in law, I would do my very best to get rid of him asap!

As someone who played golf in the past, the product with the extra shoulder strap is certainly better than the usual methods of carrying clubs around the course, and it also provides better organisation of the golf clubs. The thing is for me personally I would buy a buggy because it is easier than carrying clubs no matter how you carry them. So personally I would design it so it can also be either placed on a buggy (doesn't look possible at the moment), or design it so that it has its own wheels (maybe with detachable parts for those that want to carry it, or a separate version of the product). If one added an option with wheels it would be like two products in one. The other issue I see with the product though is when it rains. A normal bag covers the clubs better, so something to fix that might also be possible.

They didn’t value the dragons…they didn’t even do research before coming on the show 🤦🏾‍♂️ silly men

The annoying thing is you have to take it off every time you need to snap in or remove a club. A golf bag you can just toss the clubs straight into a bag.

Hi brother in law, business partner bullied him and lost him the only opportunity to turn it into a winning company and now the company is worth even less. His brother wanted to take it and he told him not to and not to let Peter bully him while he bullied him from been a success

Peters offer was negotiable to %20 if they had the balls, but still then all on offer was borderline worth it until Peter offered that celebrity spotlight... This access can cost well over the extra 120k that the extra 10% is "worth"

As a golfer this is a ridiculous piece of equipment.

A little “birdie” told Evan that this “pitch” would be below “par”. Indeed, when the manager of the company joined discussions it was clear he was a “bogey” man from the start. Sadly the business wasn’t on “course” thus denying the entrepreneurs a personal “driver”.

Asking a man to give up an Arial manager job of a recruitment company, with all its perks, possible company car, around 50k a year is a ridiculous demand, the man may have a family and a mortgage, for some product that may or may not sell. and to wait around to get paid not knowing if you would make any sales that week. once he said give up that job, i would have said i am out if i was him.

Well, I hope for their sake I'm wrong but with Peter's connections that seemed to be the worst decision I've ever seen on Dragon's Den.

I can't believe both these guys come to pitch their business with shirts creased to the fullest.

Leaving his job would show his commitment to the business and whether or not he believes in his product.

Deals do not always go through....Jones is being a monster asking him to chuck his job in straight away when he is looking after his family

One function of a golf bag is to keep the clubs dry in rainy weather - the handles of the golf clubs go in first and the 'business ends' stick out of the top. The A-frame is open to the weather, so you'd need a towel to dry the club before you could get a good grip. I don't play golf but I've been a caddy for pocket money as a boy. Golfers spend a fortune on clubs and gadgets that promise to improve their game but this A-frame looks too simple, to un-macho to excite the competitive (generally) male.

The usp of it is that it's supposedly significantly lighter than a bag. Indeed it is. But the bag is only about 10% of the weight of a set of clubs, brolly, balls, car keys, wallet, phone, jacket etc. So at best the weight saving is imperceptible. Plus, a trolley works fine.

When peter said "quit your job if I invest", would he be willing to quit his other investments? I get it, he's an investor, but you can't just ask someone to quit their job as though you are worth more to them than a guaranteed substantial wage. Is peter prepared to give joe at least the same wage he gets already out of the company, thereby reducing the areas of the company he can influence? Ridiculous demand.

Poor idea...a golf bag also keeps your clubs protected, and dry when it rains. Also, if you can't carry a bag around a ful round, you can at least use a trolley and still get good exercise...

ONCE THE BORTHER IN LAW IS OUT, YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ARE NOT PUSHING FOWARD.

The thing needs wheels. Lifting, carrying, dropping it 70 times plus during a game will just be a nuisance.

One of the most pointless products ever when a golfer can take a gold cart or even just use a trolley and put his bag on it and tbh clubs look easier got out of a bag than a rack

I'd rather pay £600 for a battery trolly than that. And I do.

Who would want this? I have a golf bag, it may be heavier than this but I keep a hundred balls in it, a jumper, an umbrella, a set of waterproofs and snacks/drinks. Sure it's a bit heavy, but I have this thing called a trolley...

I like the older episodes. Especially this building setting I just think it was the better series.

Clubs aren't protected should it start to rain. Setting them unprotected on the grass no great. Where and how do you store them in the garage? Horizontal not vertical.

Peter's offer was awesome. Big mistake not taking it.
