Yep, I was there - what a time.....best music revival to bring back the best of Hawaiian Traditional Music and an almost forgotten culture - that is soooo needed in our mixed up world today ----- ALOHA! Thanks Peter
Wednesday till the last night. I was lucky to attend with my husband's Hawaiian grandmother who would peek at me and smile. She taught me to sew leis, the meaning of chants, flowers, the old ways. I love the whole ohana so .much for being me in. I am oldish now and try to pass on as much as I can. It's too good of a culture to let go. Mahalo for letting me ramble. I am happy I married a Niau.
I have been crying with this song since 1979. I hadn't heard it for over a year ... The first few bites was like myself whole body knew the sweet release was coming. I am a mainland haole no, I was a mainland haole and loved the Hawaiian music and learning hula gave me an entire education in much more than dance. My heart beats to Hawaiian mele and chants . Long before I knew the language I attended many Merry Monarch festivals and sat mesmerized from Wed
I remember this song in 1975. Before my first nervous breakdown. I really didn't know that Peter Moon had passed away since recently. Ibwas 20 then, now after 45 years of mental health issues, and recovery only to face COVID-19, iI am alive and well at age 65!!with strong medication, meditation, Mr. Medicare . I am still single, sentimental, and ready to take the nets to the next stepAaa Levels with batteries --- my own included!,,As an ambassador of a good will, I want to keep the peace in my home, Kailua, Hawaii, my community, the State of Art In any Address, County of Honolulu , reaching beyond the Pacific Ocean to beyond the rainbows throughout the 🌅🌈🙏🏻4🌎☮👼🏼🌺🎄😍💕🌟💜❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🌈🌅🌎👼🏼🌺
how many generations of us flying away for college listening to this watching honolulu lights get dimmer and dimmer knowing we going making a difference on the mainland. a hui hou Peter Moon for all the silent tears and songs you inspired us with.
An incredible beautiful song. I heard it on the radio my first trip to Hawaii in '95 while driving through hills in Kauai. I'll never forget the memory.
One of my favorites with Martin singing and the beautiful lyrics from Peter Moon. These Braddah were awesome to say the least. RIP to Peter Moon and Martin Pahinui.

In Hawaii this is our song when leaving, my Son who is now a Man with a wife and three daughters and is also a United States Naval Pilot, when he left Hilo 11 years ago to attend college at the United States Naval Academy, it was one of the hardest day's of our lives, sitting in that airport sending him somewhere he had never been before, couldn't afford a visit, it was the so hard, walking back to my car without him, was second to seeing his big brother die, this is the song..... twice I got to see the band here in Hilo, what artist... da best..
God Bless you and your son ,Naval Academy graduate and pilot are two of the hardest things a man can do, and I give credit to his parents for instilling what it takes to get through both of those !! aloha
@@DirtywesternerMahalo brudda for your kind words, this song gets us all yea? Love me older local music, Peter was so talented, his band amazing, got to see him three times in Hilo🤙
Flower leis Yellow, white and purple strands Woven like the many days And countless ways we’ve held our hands Here we are Standing at an airport gate All those wishes on a star That missed so far Will have to wait Going... like an ebb tide flowing Like a tradewind blowing Soon you will be far across the sea Flying... soon you will be flying Like a teardrop drying Leaving just a memory Misty eyes Looking many miles away No time left to analyze, apologize, No more to say Stay a while Linger just a minute more Let me see that winning style That little smile You always wore Going... like an ebb tide flowing Like a tradewind blowing Soon you will be far across the sea Flying... soon you will be flying Like a teardrop drying Leaving just a memory Flying... soon you will be flying Like a teardrop drying Leaving just a memory
Man I love Peter moon band when I was 11in 1992 I thought they was the shit!!!! Not knowing all the music was old and today I’d say they still be current amazing
Hello All, I went to Honolulu twice and stayed at my friends house in Ewa Beach. I am from Canada Vancouver. It was 2020 and 2019. Best trip of my life. Live with the locals! Fish to beach went to our local hotspots. Drank a lot of mai tia! Can hardly wait to go back. I love the sunset. Aloha
The Music can really make everyone everywhere tune in to The Peter Moon Band appreciate good Hawaiian talent. Setting mood, relaxing. That's the way!!!
Listening to this song one month after horrific fire event in Lahaina, Maui. Many people and homes lost 8/08/23. Never forget the children, pets and folks who died there, needlessly, pinned in by police and political malfeasance.
I'll always remember the bruddahs grabbing the mic at Club Rose and singing this farewell to me...when I made the mistake of going to the mainland fo' live.
Do you have Harbor Lights (the song) by Peter Moon Band? I can't seem to find it ... if you do please post .... one of the sweetest songs, next to FLYING of course. Thank you for posting, greatly appreciated. SWEET SWEET SWEET.
