My folks were very poor when I was a kid. Their music is what I learned to love because it was the only entertainment my sister and I knew, being without TV or Radio. All we had was an old record player and Mama and Daddy's old records. Anyway, the memory makes me so happy, and somewhat proud, to be from such humble beginnings. Folk music reminds me of them and I will cherish those memories for all of my lifetime.
Sometimes when I hear this I think how simple life was! Now, I was not born when this was on the radio, but I feel like God tells us that slow down and listen to the simple things in life, and this is one of these things. Little Miracles I will say. But take care everyone and stay blessed...
It wasn’t easy, it’s just that you weren’t there. Seems like all the times have their hard times but over time it turns grey & is let go of for other newer hard times. But one thing good music stays good.💕
Wonderful group such great performers thank you PPM. AMAZING BRILLIANT PPM had it in BUCKET LOADS. I was blessed to see PPM live. PETER WADE. TWEED HEADS. AUSTRALIA.
When first I heard this song, I immediately had to learn to play guitar. Like that. Travis style fingerpicking. Thank God for them- I did, and still do.
This takes me back to my high school days in the very early 60's. While other kids were collecting rock and roll records, I was collecting folk music. I still have most of my records including Seeger, Baez, Dylan and many others. The covers are falling apart but because I took meticulous care of them, they are still in excellent shape. As I get older I have been giving my collection to my nephew as he is an audiophile and I taught him how to take care of them. He already has a collection of my records including one of the first editions of the Beatles White Album. He has also been contacted by collector to see if he wants to sell any of these records. His answer is always no.
And they were best live and in any venue From Small Auditoriums to Carnegie Hall to outside marches for peace and civil Rights. I saw them from their beginning
That's the way it's supposed to be right there. Paul's voice is unmistakable especially in this song !! I'm 15 years ago listening to this at Klienhens music hall in Buffalo NY
i GREW UP listening to my brother play this music and others.every day and everynight. my first and real introduction into music. and listening to My brother singing along with them. also Kingston trio, the new Christy minstrels,
I borrowed the record from a girl. It was new in Sweden at that time and only available because she got it fram the US. I didn’t know anything about vinyl records. The sun came and the record was ruined. I paid for the record and still have it. This was a start. Me and my sister started to do covers. Later we met a boy - a much better guitar player than me. We were 3. We formed a cover band. Such happiness. We performed a lot and were lucky. 🥰
