Great work as always. I think I remember hearing something about this guy having 2 of the same trucks and can’t help but think it would have helped everyone do one as a quick and dirty get me to work truck then do the second as a full nice build. Like I said before money is the root of all evil and killer of good projects.

It’s amazing how many steps go into rebuilding this section of the engine J.C. The complexity of the engine is remarkable. Everything you wrenched on this project though has made complete sense and easy to understand. Not to mention the slick paint job👍. It’s a shame that one air compressor hose can stop progress on the project all together, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Great video to kick the year off with😀👍!

6:52 JC, a correct size allen key makes a good "go-no-go" gauge for holes that are hard to see. engine builder showed me this for making sure cam bearings are clocked correctly

i believe the single piston compressors have to be timed but the 2 piston compressors don't need to be timed as the piston pulses cancel each other out so that might be why there was no timing mark on the compressor. compressors are supposed to be timed with the engine pulses to reduce gear train noise at least that's what my memory says id double check that before anyone took that for gospel.

My seal is just starting leaking on my Big cam 3. The mechanic said i have to remove the front cover and oil pan. And if course it's in a Crane Carrier. I'm hoping i don't have to do all of that.

I have a question mr cummins mechanic, I have a small cam 350 cummins, few of the cam covers are leaking oil , do you need to open top of heads to put new gaskets on covers ?????
