This route runs between the west bank of Trent University's Symons Campus and the Summit Plaza shopping plaza. It runs primarily on Park Rd, with routing also on Royal Dr, St Pauls St, Wolsely St, Chamberlain St, and Goodfellow Rd. In the southern end of the routing, it loops around Summit Plaza via Lansdowne St and Clonsilla Ave. Where Park Rd runs one direction only going south, the route goes north via Rubidge St.
The route was introduced in June 2020 as a part of the system-wide change to a grid-based system from a hub-and-spoke system. The previous route 3 (Highland Road) does share some routing with the current route on Wolsely St and Park St. Other parts of the current route used to be served by the former routes 1 George St North, 2 Chemong, 5 Charlotte, and 7 Lansdowne.
The route is interesting in two ways: firstly the route currently has limited rush hour service, with 30 minute frequencies only occuring during weekday mornings with no extra afternoon rush hour service. Secondly, the route doesn't serve either Fleming College or the downtown terminal like every other route that runs out of Trent University (besides the Link routes).
The headsign in the southbound direction is: "3 PARK SOUTH//TRENT U BATA TO SUMMIT PLAZA CLONSILLA". The southbound external announcement is: "3, Summit Plaza".
