In the video I take a deeper look at Peter's Professional 20-20-20 water soluble fertilizer and Main Event dry iron. I have seen these products used by other professional applicators but haven't seen it discussed much on the LawnTubes. Here is my take, I hope you enjoy the video!

8oz per 1000 would only give you 1/10 pound of nitrogen per 1000! How often are you applying this? A typical lawn runs 4 pounds of nitrogen per 1000 per season! You would have to do this 40 times per season! Are you a masochist?
@TurfCulture
@TurfCulture 3 года назад
Hey George - This is not my only nitrogen source for the entire growing season. As I mentioned in the video I am using these two products to spoon feed a little bit of NPK and minors for a color response. You don't need to get too heavy handed with this stuff. You could absolutely use the 20-20-20 as a base fertilizer if you wanted to, just apply at a much higher rate.

I have used that combo all year and love the results. You get a deep green and just overall healthy looking turf. I’ve had slightly better results from FeAture 6-0-0 then main event, which according to some posts on the lawn forum it’s because of the way it’s chelated.

An old timer here who got hooked on your lawn videos! Always very detailed and informative. I do have one question. I had purchased Jacks 29-20-20 and never used it. The directions state 2 tablespoons per gallon for lawns however your video stated you used 8oz per 1000sq ft. I don't want to burn my 5000 sq ft lawn so just confirming amount to use. Thanks again for all your videos . Anthony

I was looking for something with a little more phosphorus and Potassium due to my soil test coming back a bit more low than i wanted on the Phosphorus and on the edge of potassium. I ran in to the Pete's 10-30-20 and seems great, you're pretty much one of the only Videos i have seen on RU-vid advertising this product. I'm new to the Peters Fertilizer. Buying it from Do-My-Own. After a Soil Savvy test on my lawn; for a Synthetic Fertilizer, the test results came back with a 16-16-16 fertilizer type. I was recommended the 20-20-20 Peters. I'm spraying about 30,000 square feet of lawn. The online label says 1 teaspoon per gallon of water. I'm confused on how much I should use per 1000 square feet. The label won't say or break it down for the amount needed to cover 1000 square feet. Can you give me any advice on how much a safe amount would be needed for 1000 square feet?
@TurfCulture
@TurfCulture 3 года назад
1 pound of Peter’s per 1k sqft will get you .20lbs of Nitrogen. If you want to treat all 30ksqft.. that’s a pretty big lawn, it will require the entire 25# bag to treat the whole lawn.
@Jonathanjweir
@Jonathanjweir 3 года назад
I too was confused by the bag label and the recommended 1tsp per gallon. So you are mixing based on your N application needs. I want to be sure I don't over concentrate the product to the point it damages my sprayer or is too thick. 4 gallon sprayer, can I safely put 5lbs or Peters 20-20-20, in that mix? Or should I dilute more and go over the lawn twice with 2.5lbs per 4 gallons of water?
@TurfCulture
@TurfCulture 3 года назад
@@Jonathanjweir the bad label is for ornamentals. Ignore that and do that math to target your N goals. If you are going to dissolve 5lbs I would suggest hot water in a 5gal bucket first then transfer to the sprayer 👍🏻

Your math is wrong. It takes 5 pounds of 20-20-20 per thousand to deliver 1 pound of nitrogen. 8 ounces only gives you 0.10 pound not 0.25 pound.
@TurfCulture
@TurfCulture 3 года назад
Hi Again - I don't think I ever mentioned 1lb of nitrogen being the goal here. At .20lbs N per K on my 5,000 sqft lawn this 25lb bag would last 5 applications for me (1lb of product by weight per 1k sqft). I rarely apply more than .25lb N per K to my lawn at any given time. I am applying 1/2 of the normal rate (.10lb N per K) because I am tank mixing with the 6-0-0 Main event.
