Hi Nathan, my dad smoked a pipe since he was a crew member of a B-24 bomber in WW2. During my time with him (I’m 68 years old now born 1955 he passed away in 2007 at 84) I’ve never seen him without his pipe nearby. I know he only used 3 or 4 brands of tobacco , Captain Black, Half & Half, Edgeworth, and Cherry Tobacco. The tobacco choices these days are overwhelming to me.I’m just dropping cigarettes after too many years of smoking. I must thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise of pipe tobacco smoking. Thank you Alan. Your grandfather was from a generation of selfless heroes you should be proud. His blends are typical of that era that many grandpa’s smoked & enjoyed. It was much simpler then wasn’t it😊. Enjoy your new hobby in replacing cigarettes I am certain that with time you will come to enjoy pipe smoking much more than cigarettes smoking.
@TheVapingPiper. I love your garden reviews Nathan it is so relaxing. I enjoy this blend most with my morning coffee as the tin says 😁 I agree that vapers / cigarette smokers will enjoy the MPE as you say it is mild & balanced yet full of flavour
I'm just like you, I have not tried the Dunhill blends prior to Peterson's reintroduction of the blends but a lot of the older smokers have told me they did not notice much of a difference between them and any differences they did pick up didn't affect the experience. As most say on RU-vid "Its pretty close" and I believe from what I could gather they nailed most of the blends and some could use some improvements but I can't share much of my own thoughts because I've only ever tried the Peterson's. I haven't even tried many Peterson's blends, I've only smoked Navy Rolls, Elizabethan Mixture and Night Cap but I'm definitely gonna pick up EMP in my next restock
Thanks Jericho for your feedback. Indeed most agree Dunhill & Peterson are identical. Btw reading your list of blends by Peterson I most recommend my mixture 965 which is one of my favourite English blends.

I have tried both, Dunhill and Peterson. Dunhill was better but the Peterson is mighty close. You can tell the difference. Peterson is also made by the Scandinavian Tobacco Company. I like Early Morning as well as Elizabethan Mixture. My two goto's are Standard Mixture and Nightcap which are my two primary smokes. Good video as always my friend. Quick question. You obviously still vape, do you find yourself reaching for the pipe more now or do you still primarily vape? I still vape but find myself enjoying pipes and cigars more these days.

As for my vaping to be honest I too am tempted to smoke my pipe more often but I set myself a rule of no more then 2 pipe smoking sessions per week that I am trying to obey by. Although originally it was meant to be one pipe smoking session per week but that was not sustainable😀I do enjoy my NET tobacco liquids very much especially that I have the best MTL RTA’s that deliver the tobacco flavours very accurately so yes I am satisfied with my current arrangement…. So far😊
You should rephrase your question Edd how many bowls do I smoke per week😊 the answer is I enjoy 2 smoking sessions per week. Midweek & weekend. Within those smoking sessions I do tend to smoke 2 types of blends per session normally lasting between 1-1.5h. Rest of the week I vape naturally extracted tobacco liquids.
I think the toppings were a bad idea ...good natural Virginia has all the flavors as does Perique and Latakia and other Oreintals...why wreck it with chemical tasting toppings and alchol which degrades the flavor...never understood Aromatics with topping or flavoring.Enjoy your day and smoke.I do want to get a couple tins for my early mornings!
Hi Todd. We all have different tastes preferences and for many including myself a good quality aromatic that the topping is mild & doesn’t mask the natural leaf flavouring just adds another tasty flavour to the mix and is very enjoyable. Of course I enjoy the pure blends as you say the leaf itself delivers lovely nuances but on occasion I enjoy a good quality aromatic no less. Enjoy your day as well.
That was a commissioned pipe by LCS briars that I since sold. It was a beautiful pipe alright but too big for my liking. As for comparison, sorry I didn’t try the skiff mixture as yet.
