This is the first video that explains all the various types of geraniums or pelargoniums! Thank you for such a detailed review. This video explains why my Martha Washington types never bloomed profusely in the summer! I hope to see and try the other types ! 🌸❤️🇨🇦

They’re so easy to grow from seed or cutting, I grow tons of the maverick varieties each year; they have nearly a 100% germination rate.

I don’t do anything to my geranium. It is in the same position in my yard all year long. I didn’t know that I have to cut it back now It is so legging. The flowers have started to bloom in April. I am going to try to cut and grow the new cutting before cutting back the geranium.

Thank you Noelle, you are so awesome at explaining all the great plants for our gardens. Gereniums are some of my family's favorite plants. We look forward to trying some of the new varieties. PS the rabbits seem to be leaving the gereniums alone so far.

Why does the Tallmadge store never have much there? I order online and need 3-5 of the same plant.

I have been bringing my geraniums in for the winter for the last few years. I use them in containers and window boxes. They are becoming leggy. Should I cut them back in the fall.

Absolutely, cut your geraniums back in the fall when you bring them in, and also in the spring! Try to remove any older, woody stems to induce new growth.

More useful info for me and my garden…thanks! Could you please talk about the other type of geranium, the hardy perennial one, because I inherited a bunch of them in my garden when we bought our house. What do I do with them in the winter, cut to ground in Nov or let them be?
@PetittiGardenCenters
@PetittiGardenCenters Год назад
I tend to let them dieback naturally because I enjoy their fall colors and cut them back in the spring when new growth is developing, but you can cut them down when dormant in late fall and early winter if desired. They are pretty easy to grow in part shade conditions, but some newer varieties tolerate full sun very well. They prefer well-drained, moist, amended soil. Divide the plants every 4 years to maintain vigor in the spring. Fertilize 2x per year with Plant-tone & Iron-tone, spring & midsummer.
