Let's be honest, Petr Yan is going to be even more dangerous in the rematch. He was absolutely bossing the fight. If he didn't make the mistake, it would have been his best performance. Sterling has little to no chance in rematch. Can't outwrestle him, can't outstrike him and can't out-strength him.
ummm, from what I saw, yan was only "bossing" the last 8 minutes of an 19 minute fight. I wouldn't count out sterling in a rematch. the adjustments he needs to make are pretty clear, where as Yan pretty much fought his best fight.
I think they’re both going to be more dangerous. The mistake petr made was getting dq’d. He let sterling go 4 rounds with him and now they both are going to be able to adjust for the rematch.
I think we saw a peak or near perfect Yan, not that he can’t get better, but it’s not like he has anything to fix for the rematch. Aljo learned a lot more from the fight than Yan
In Russian we do not have a separate word for "punch" and "kick", we have sort of one word "hit" which sounds like [bei]. If you want to specify you need to say "hit with hand" or "hit with knee". If it's just "hit" then it's applicable to all parts of body or subjects. So from Yan's corner one block was yelling "punch-punch-punch" in English, but another one was yelling in Russian [bei-bei-bei] "hit-hit-hit" probably meaning "punch". Petr asks - "with the knee?" and hears back "bei" - and it sounds like positive answer to his question. That's my personal hypothesis. And Khabib probably heard that and that's why he said so to DC.
Everyone knows what's gonna happen. Sterling knows he can't win this fight. That's why he is enjoying this moment why he should put that belt under his bed and never ever show it until he truly deserves it
This dude was ragdolling Aljo. He has no way of winning this fight and he knows it. Let him enjoy this short time with the belt cuz I don’t see him ever winning it legitimately. And everyone knows what he did was wrong but the stuff Aljo posted after the fight turned everyone against him. Posting face off of him and Cejudo saying “maybe we’ll do this fight next @danawhite”That’s his own fault.
Taking a picture with a potential opponent isn’t his own fault. Throwing an illegal knee IS Yan’s fault. You judge a post more harshly than the illegal knee. Smh
I also noticed him some time ago when he was fighting in Russia . Since I speak russian I saw many interviews with him . He is a very nice and simple guy but one thing is right : when he fights he is cold with killer instinct and he is very corageous. He was a bouncer in a club before being a professional fighter .A bouncer that weighted 68 kg ... In Russia the russians of siberia are considered very hard core .
Sterling made a business decision, but in an instance lost the respect of the mma world. The interview and subsequent pics and the stare down with cejudo didn't help his cause any.
Can you at least acknowledge he’s an idiot for throwing that knee?? And ppl acting like dude was dominating the entire fight, you can make a STRONG case Aljo won the first two rds
@@bbcmotd start a channel and interpret these interviews word for word...what the fighter and interpreter say. I feel like sooo much is lost in translation. Would watch 12/10 times
If you look up the definition of Oscar nominee you'll sèe a portrait of Leonardo De caprio .and in that portrait , hes doing a power point presentation on the legendary acting abilities of aljamain sterling .
@@itumo2645 That's as poor of an argument as you'll ever hear. Some people bruise easily, some have rubber skin. It' doesn't change the fact that once Aljo got caught with that big right in the first round, he was sent to a different dimension
I don’t know if you guys watched the fight but he basically just gassed from the sheer output he put out in the first two rounds, throwing flying knees, spinning back elbows etc He fell from any slight touch from Yan. Then stood up again and fell. Doesn’t take a genius to see he was just exhausted. Wasn’t really a result of ‘punishment’ as you all are putting it.
Aljo failed his take down and hid behind a bs rule. Lucky it wasn’t an actually fight or aljo would of ate soccer kicks to the head mid Oscar performance
this interview can be done better if they just put english subtitles while Petr speaks in Russian instead us waiting for him to talk then the translator speak.
Funny how you can hear his corner screaming knee him Petr! No mercy! Knee him ! Finish him! He is lying and this interview confirms it. He should be suspended for cheating. The doctor's and Aljo's coaches have all said he was puking in and after the hospital. People should give this guy all the disrespect given to Aljo
Because Askren has integrity, like most fighters. Sterling is an anomaly in being one of the few fighters who would accept a championship belt on a technicality after getting whooped in the actual fight.
Petr is an upcoming 🌟 in the UFC, once he improves his English so he can be more engaging..he doesn't showboat, doesn't eat 🍕 on the stage, doesn't talk about greatness when he hasn't reached that level. Different mindset and definitely someone ppl Can look up too.
Yea, and yet Yan was still disqualified and Aljo is still the official UFC Bantamweight champion 😂 Its a good thing likes on the internet don’t decide anything in real life 😂
OL Sterling already ducking the fight , he's more scared than he was in the first one. It was easy to talk on social media , but when he felt the power of those hands, man it wasn't the same.
Th respect he has for his teammates is crazy. We all clearly saw that he looked at his corner right before throwing the knee asking something and one said yes while the other no. But In the interviews, he stated out how he didn’t hear the corner or anything but he saw aljos hands up.
@@larsnootbaarfann Was he faking when he took Peytr best shot and Just got back up. Peytr was probably shoock so he had to DQ to convince himself he could knock him out.
That russian “translator” had a multiple chances to explain to American public that russian word бей, means strike/hit, but it doesn’t mean a punch particularly... Is it that hard to guess that?

It's not aljo's fault that his coaches shouted to him in RUSSIAN (the language Yan speaks) to hit him. Anyone can rewatch the episode and they will clearly hear russian word "udar"
I don't understand what Yans record how many fights has he fought do they let you knee or kick a grounded opponents in the head why did he ask his corner if he could knee a grounded opponents it seems like he new and was thinking ill get a warning then I could knock him out since he is already hurt. Good plan 👌 to bad he decided to stay down smile now cry later
@BEAST TV maybe purchase the card properly instead of bootleg. You’d clearly see Yan was way ahead in the fight. That one judge is blind, like you. Outstruck and outgrappled.
It’s alright guys, petr proved he is the monster he said he is. I’m happy to have him as the PEOPLES CHAMPION cuz no matter what he’ll get that belt back, AND he’s calling out the hard fights like CCC after. We got ourselves a true champ 👍
Was a big aljo fan before this and even after he took the belt it made sense because thats the rules BUT, the way he did a 180 from acting and throwing the belt to celebrating with it turned me into a big Yan fan In the rematch , Yan WILL get it back
The celebration isn't even what put me off. It was him angling for the cejudo match and trying to duck yan. That's actually cowardly if he avoids fighting yan again.
Guys listen, if you don’t think Aljo is an actor I’m here to make you believe. How on earth do you get kneed in the face and a few seconds later before even the fight is waved off you can see Aljo already crying? The fight is not even off, the ref is asking Aljo if he can continue and you can see Aljo crying. Like he knows he’s not going to continue and going to win the belt by DQ? If he really believed he didn’t win the belt he would’ve never put it on his shoulders the next day and take a video about it. The man is delusional. His performance was pitiful, dude got taken down by a striker literally everytime and could takedown Yan only once being the wrestler that he is. I know Matt Sera and Ray Longo are happy that Aljo got the belt home somehow, but they need to put some sense into their fighter ffs.
@Ashley Aboley he got what he deserved and was disqualified from the fight he was clearly winning and lost his title too. What about Aljo though? You think he deserves the belt?
No he's not, he forgets a lot of stuff Petr says, including some important details, it would be better to record translation for Petr's answers after the interview itself.
@@adammurphy8409 there is a lot , it’s not like super important but he leaves out the thought process of petr yan and just gets out the general message
Sterling broke no rules and didn't make a call about what to do with the foul. No one knows how injured he was and it's very possible that he was unable to continue. Aljo has to deal with having to answer for the bout result rather than his opponent and the referee the two people who played the biggest roles in the bout result. I seriously struggle to see how/why aljo is getting so much hate lmao. Situation is upside down.
people acting like jokes are hate, I just think it's funny how bad aljo did and told joe it was the greatest bantam weight fight that was close. That fight was not close and he got exposed asf, he's scared of a rematch
@@calvincalvin3132 He's a profesional fighter. He's supposed to know. And they are literally instructed by the ref in the locker room before the fight.
shameful? bruh you threw one of the diritiest hits probably in mma history. You should be the shameful one. I do agree that sterling shouldn't have gotten the belt tho
@@GoldenBoyDims he only speaks Russian, if some tells you something in a different language and you dont understand or worried about fighting would that make you stupid? I was going for aljo but it's just a mistake everyone's so opinionated yan was about to win regardless undoubtedly until he kneed him, aljo gassed.
@@GodlyGang I cant think of a fight where an opponent has ever willingly squat down on both feet with one hand touching the floor while an opponent is holding their head. It sounds ridiculous.
@thomas burns Enforcing not having to learn the language? Are you that lazy? Lol. Even Canelo learned English and he always does his interviews in Spanish. Yan is not a fkinn child. Quit making stupid excuses for him.
Aljamain Sterling is beefing with Helwani now he went and did 6 other shows except Helwanis because Helwani said it was an acting job on his show with DC.
@@bradistooheat He will never be a legit champ. Why do you think he faked his way to this belt? Its his only chance to hold the belt. Pathetic coward n terrible actor.
If he was clearly winning the fight why risk the fight by throwing an illegal knee. Cause If he didn’t he’d still be the champ and none of this would have happened. So now ask yourself, who’s really the bigger idiot here? You or him? I’m banking on you pal.
Facts, instead of that knee he could star punching him in this position and get tko, and even if he didn't finish him in 4th, in the 5 one its a ko for sure
He might have lost on the papers but he won alot of new fans that night while aljo lost alot of fans. We are with you Petr Yan, lets go and get your belt back. NO MERCY!
