I generally love this upgrade and largely agree with what you said but there are just a couple of little things that stand out: 1) They have the rules for everything EXCEPT the Swarming Promo card. Not sure why that got left out when they actually provide a copy of it with the promo pack. 2) The clouds (which I love) have an unforeseen and obnoxious tendency to cover up the scoring conditions of adjacent tiles. It makes the actual drop placement/area majority stuff work way better but can be a bit frustrating on the tiles with more complex scoring needs. 3) One other note is that for those of us that didn't Kickstart it, the CE promo stuff IS NOT included and must be purchased separately on their website. It's $90 ($60 for the box, trays, and rulebook and $30 for the promo tiles) to upgrade into this and get the content that the KS folks got. It's extremely pricy to do so.
Consolidated rule books should absolutely be an industry standard. Isle of Cats and any Garphill Games game immediately come to mind with their expansions. I know there are dozens or hundreds more that absolutely need this done. Thank you for talking about this in both of your recent reviews of these games Mike!
I thought the video Mighty Boards put out as their "example" was good, but it took searching BGG to find it. I wish they had just linked a QR code to it.
Great to see you covering this wonderful game. (On a side note, do wish board game content creators -- not just you, Mike, so please don't think I'm picking on you -- would remove their jewelry before recording. The eye follows shiny objects so it's quite distracting. Your spouses will forgive you!)
Lol. Non issue. Although if this is the only complaint then these guys are doing pretty good I guess. Having said that I've always worn no jewelry at work, for safety reasons though, if it gets caught in a machine I'd likely lose a finger or worse.
