They are literally the easiest knives to sharpen. Its just two fully straight edges

My mini presidio has a terrible heat treat,ive reprofiled it 3 times and it still wont hold a descent edge for a couple of days🤷‍♂️

@@GG-ml3vr def would not defend benchmade I'm pretty sure that's not the only model they have had issues with. Although I will say that I once watched a testing on a newer benchmade freak with a high end steel cuz it was the nicer black and grey g10 version which I believe is m4 which I have on my spyderco shaman and love it takes the most keen edge I've experienced. But anyway it took almost 10 fresh edges before it hit edge retention numbers comparable to other blades with same steel tested. So although I cant assume that will be the case here and I can't recall any complaints on how well it sharpened. It took getting rid of a decent amount of steel for it to get to the good stuff and once it did it was performing with the best comparisons. And I have also changed my thought process on my Medford statement. What I should have been clear about is although I've seen Medfords outperform knives from China in cpmd2 using only regular D2. I honestly am still disappointed in Medfords heat treat numbers cuz although it sharpens up fine and holds an edge decently. On literally every steel they use they are not heat treating in the optimal performance range which has begun to really piss me off considering they clearly have the capability and I listen to Gregg say he does it so guys can Sharpen their knives in the field or so people dint have to send their knife in every time they want it sharpened. Total BS . You ask any person buying a 7 to 900 + knife if they prefer a less than optimal heat treat where toughness is irrelevant on knives that thick if someone thinks a knife is a pry bar just cuz its overbuilt their a dipshit and you charge them to replace it. Cuz 90 percent of knives lovers these days will tell you they want the most optimal heat treat for edge retention and overall cutting performance. Not easy t ok Sharpen. If I want easy to Sharpen I'll specifically buy a cheaper knife that easy to sharpen. Plus most powder steels are pretty easy to sharpen and they make pocket size dmt stones so if someone truly cant sharpen then their still better off having the knife that stays sharp 2 or 3 times longer. Theres no point in using premium steel if your not going to optimize its potential. I'm a very USA made kind of guy but I'm not gonna keep supporting guys cutting corners anywhere and charging crazy money knowing it will sell just cuz it's made in the US. As consumers we have to hold makers responsible for things like this or other makers follow suit and think they can get away with bs to. I think I heard someone talking about bailouts blades being junk on the newest model. Sucks cuz they look cool and because I found a sick titanium scale set made by a reputable US guy I would have totally bought one. Only benchmade I own is the mini freak carbon in s90 v. And I havent used it enough to get a good judgment on the steel but I've heard not one bad thing about that model and its probably the best looking stock benchmade aside from maybe some of their gold editions. Ok rant over back to work. Lol
