I try the petzl zillion (non wire core) lanyard. Please dont try this at home. always use a wire core flipline. still breaking in the 193t in this video
Flush cuts are the way to go. Not only does it look good but it also makes it easier for retrieving the friction saver. It lessens snagging on the stubs
In this video I think I was still running the older friction saver with the steel rings. These days I’m using the flimsaver and another adjustable friction saver with the aluminum rings
I have had two friends die when their flipline did not work and they had no back up. What does it cost you to put your climbing rope at knee hight. If you cut your arm you can get down easily and if you cut your flipline you dont fall.

I would never call anyone a hack, I have seen many great solutions not in the industry standard and most people who work with trees are hard working people, many with familys. This guy did some good work, I simply suggested an extra safety option. If he does not take it then I hope it always goes good for him. Because we work to earn money for living, no good working high risk, cause then we carnt live good anymore if it goes wrong.
