Welcome Back - I'm afraid I'm in the "No Mesh" camp, but I understand why you would want to keep one - maybe a painted black one would not be too bad. If you are changing the alternator, changing the drivebelt at the same time would be a good idea.

Fit a Genuine grill, always look better, you can add a couple of chrome stripes to set it off👍👍

Great to see you back and with good progress on the 406. My preference would be to fit the genuine grill while one is available. Alternatively I know Peugeot did some mesh type grill kits for some models in the 90s/early 2000s. I was going to ask how the Clio Baccara and Mégane Cabriolet are coming then both appeared at the end. 😅 Just got my coupe back on the road this week.

Definitely a "No Mesh" from me :) I tend to prefer originality, in general. These days I hardly ever buy car magazines, but I'll duly check out Modern Retro Classic: I mean, it's got the Safrane in it, which is not something you can say of many mags :)
