Peugeot 5008 - How to change the running light

The bulbs which are permanently lit on a Peugeot 5008 are called running lights. This video shows how to change one of them.
You'll need an unusual tool: TORX T40 key (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx). It is possible that you'll be able to remove the bulb with a regular screw driver; only a quarter turn is needed. You may also need a pair of needle-nose pliers.
Bulbs can be found on eBay/elsewhere, search for "HP24W G4 DRL Day Lights Canbus". The video illustrated removing the manufacturer-supplied traditional bulb and replaced with a generic LED.

Great help many thanks. Bit at the end about pulling away the wheel arch cover to retrieve dropped bulb was invaluable. Guess who dropped the bulb! Paid £31 for new bulb plus holder with Eurocarparts.

Great vid👍👍 Did first one in 30 seconds, it pops out after I turned my torx. It was bit mor work with the other one tho. Around 10 minutes trying to pul it out with pliers but did it eventually👍 Looks way better with leds👍 Thanks again for this video👍👍

Perfect job! Thanks a lot. It took me 2 minutes to exchange. I advise to use a 6cm wood screw instead of tongs to remove the bulb :) It's even faster. What I like the most is that you showed what to do when a light bulb falls behind the fender. Really respect!

Nice instructions, thank you! For putting the bulb back in, I just used a bit of duct tape so that the bulb won’t fall off the tool when angling it back in.

Job done, thanks for making the video. The original bulbs snap in place in the socket with a small ridge. Did anyone with replacement LEDs have them come loose without that ridge to hold them? They are only held by the power pins now...

The correct method is undo bolt inside wheel arch liner, remove torx screws under bumper and literally pull the wing away. It's not difficult exactly but hassle beyond belief for something that should be simple. A design specifically to make you go to dealer, £109 in the UK plus the very expensive bulb and holder. The method in the video is possible with patience and small hands. Indicator just as fiddly.

ha you should try changing bulb on renault grand scenic. you nearly have to remove the engine. nightmare

I really wonder what was on the mind of the people that designed this. And more than that why a lamp with a plastic base costs 25 euros. I replaced them with leds but after about a year they stopped working. Replacing them is only frustration
