Tools used/needed:
Car Socket Kit (same as I used in video): amzn.to/2K6k2Zo
Screwdriver kit: amzn.to/2WqzWzp
Flexi screwdriver to open up the mudguard: amzn.to/2WoWLUa
Parts Used:
Tensioner: amzn.to/2WoW2Cq
Contitech 6PK1020 Belt: amzn.to/2WqAzsL
Quick Guide:
1. Remove plastic
2. Loosen tensioners
3. remove tensioner (optional - only needed if you are chaning tensioner(s)
4. Remove belt
5. place new belt
6. put back pastic cover

A helpful video, thank you. I think I have the same engine-1.6hdi. I managed to do it without removing the wheel arch without too much difficulty. I didn't get the plastic cover out, I just pushed it aside to allow the belt to come off. It's recommended that you replace both tensioners and belt at the same time

There is a 10mm locknut on the bottom of the plastic cover. You need to remove or bend away the lower splash tray to access it. If you disregard this nut and pull the cover off with force as shown in this video, you will break the plastic cover. Best case, it snaps off cleanly like in the video. Worst case you get a big hole in the cover.

Peugeot in sweden take around 1000pound for that job. Well done mate. I will do this by myself next time.

I managed to get the old belt out, and new one in, while the cover was stil attached with the Lowes nut (that is apparently underneath)

Very interesting video! I have to do the same operation to my Citroën C5. Underneath exactly the same car as the 508. How did you manage to get the plastic cover out? From above or from the wheal arch? My car also has this weard plastic cover.
