Peugeot e-2008 - 'Insert Generic Car Statement Here' 

I've done 90.000 km in my 2020 model by now, and no plans to sell it for the next couple of years. Very comfortable car, and the boot can even fit a washing machine in full packaging. A little trick for the entertainment system, push the screen with three fingers, to go back.

It absolutely does have “virtual cockpit” and satnav in the dash, so did the previous version I had for two years.

Most aesthetically pleasing part of this vlog was recognising bits of Wetherby. Also seen a corsa e by stellantis for a £16k reduction brand new. Too many similar Brands competing with itself.

Cheapest E-2008 brand new on Autotrader is under £25k admittedly that's the older version with slightly less range but sub £25k its a bargain. The Stellantis group are massively discounted currently.

I Believe that they have resolved the Glovebox/Fusebox issue on the current 308.

I've owned a Fiat 500e for nearly two years and have been pleasantly surprised with the build quality. But if I needed a family car, I'd opt for the C4e or its booted sibling the C4e X which costs the same.

I don't like the infotainment screen plopped on the dashboard like an afterthought. I has become an essential thes days to include but it spoils the lines of the interior.

Still waiting for someone to make a decent estate car to compete with MG5.

It is a understated great car!

I've had one for 2.5 years now. It's been good apart from two blue screen of deaths which had to be reset with USB stick. Oh and don't expect to be able to connect to climate control or delayed charge with the app. It only works about 10% of the time.

As with all the Peugeot systems, tap the screen with three fingers to take you immediately to the Home Screen. (Or you can use the buttons at the bottom there as you saw)

Sad I’ve got a 2020 e2008, orange with a sun roof, and it’s great, 180 miles or there abouts and really comfortable. In two two years time what will I do?

Nice, but too chunky for my tastes. Chunky price too. I like the 208 but find it a bit too small behind the driver, just need a bit bigger boot and back seat/rear entry. 308?

I regard to the gloss black, I resolved this problem on my Niro EV by buying an aftermarket shell, to cover the gloss black.

I have the 2022 e208 Active entry level model. Surprised at how the 2023 e2008 "refresh" looks almost identical on the inside. Also, I think the smaller touchscreen with the entry level model works better - the function buttons are either side of the touchscreen (instead of down below on the piano keys) which is much more intuitive and easier to find when driving.

The actual price for a 22-23 sub 500 mile car is about £26-27k 50 kWh , pre-facelift would be my go.

Having sat in one when looking for our EV. What is it with the dark headling. Crazy dark in car. Real put off. So much so never even took it for a test drive.

Our e-2008 was £200/month less than an e-208 on lease. You’re right though. It looks nice enough but after living with it for a while you realise how primitive it all is, especially compared to Tesla, which is now cheaper. Must add, the app is truly an abomination.

Will Peugeot do a cheap model to go against the Citroen EC-3 ?

I really wanted to like this & the older version because I prefer the outside styling to all others. But for practicality (i.e. space, range, etc) almost everything else in its class beats it. You can get a 1-2 year old Skoda Enyaq iv80 at almost half the price at the moment.

The Golf for years ago was a car that was not bad but not brilliant either and it sold in droves. Now it’s completely crap but that’s a different story….

Just watching now - clearly it’s a lower spec version as no ambient lighting and guess doesn’t have built in nav - if it did you can view the maps and directions on the i-Cockpit.

The Jeep Avenger will be the most popular variant of this size of Stellantis vehicle. There have been a lot of pre-orders for the Avenger.

Why would you buy a car like this with a price just over 40k? More road tax to pay over 5 years!!! I hate all black interiors with a vengeance, but very few manufacturers of mainstream cars give you options on upholstery colour. Good review as always chaps 👍😎

Not the base 23 model ‘ active +’ that I have. I don’t have that media set up -screen type or piano key set up. Dash I have is analogue / basic digital display. The interior mood lights are missing on mine too. Range is utterly laughable. Told at ordering I’d charge to 230 miles. Max it can charge to is 206/8 miles. In winter it would not do a 100 mile round trip. I had to use public charge for an extra 50 mile top up to get home. I’ve had a screen blank issue and return to French lang I had to sort out myself. Early servicing display (4800 miles) dealer would not admit was a known issue. My experience is very poor so far not impressed at all -performance is very average, range is p155 poor, electronics hit/miss and dealer experience as usual as bad as the rest.

Close, but no cigar!! Stelantis also make Vauxhall,Citroen and Fiat vehicles!! My current car’s a Renault Zoe and my next one will probably be a Renault Kangoo van estate.

The new lever is much better than the old because it is easier to put in N (neutral) for coasting, which saves much more electricity than anything else.

Hi guys, greetings from Oxford. I’ve had a BMW i3 since 2019, and i still love it. I think this Peugeot suffers a common problem… it is not a dedicated EV platform, so it is compromised from the outset. All the really impressive EVs have one thing in common; they were EV from conception. On a personal note, I really hate the current fashion for gloss black interior plastic; it’s just plain stupid imho.

No idea if other manufacturers are doing this but why are Kia supplying electric cars with charging cables that aren't up to the job? Looked at a Sportage plug-in & EV6 recently and both came with 20 amp cables, meaning they'd only home charge at 3.5kwh. This is ridiculous.

The sad thing is that it’s a generic car rather than anything special like the Kangoo van/estate vehicle. Renault make much nicer vehicles, both to look at and to drive.

I simply can't believe the price... Model 3 is now £39,950.... The Peugeot can't hold a candle to the Tesla. It will only sell to people that really want a Peugeot. I have a Citroën E-C4 Shine Model.... far cheaper than this smaller Peugeot.

It’s prob an ok car but why would you ever buy this when there is a list of cars that would go above this as mentioned in the video? They would be better not releasing car after car and taking the time to deliver a car that matters.

It is a good looking car but a Niro offers far more for similar money. It is not far off a Nissan Aryia

I feel that the stellantis are over pricing cars to say that no one wants an EV. I would certainly buy a Tesla over this, or if I wanted a cheaper car, Kia or MG. Maybe it would be interesting to look at an equivalent petrol/diesel and highlight if price is ridiculously lower than the EV.

So... an entire 15+ minutes clip with neither of you getting anywhere near excited. Yep, that sums up this EV for me. If it were a politician, it would be 'insert opposition leader's name here'.

As a brand Peugeot make some nicely designed cars though they have not made the jump to EV only designs which should enable stunning designs and novel packaging solutions but like every other maker I think there needs to be a revolution in battery chemistry, cost especially and none of them have gone down the simplification route which the technology with so few moving parts lends itself to. Good as a second and third family car but still too costly to make insure and fuel using public chargers, good design could surely fix the insurance/ repair cost difficulties.

I guess my choice would be a Tesla 3 or an MG4, each for their obvious advantages. This isn't a bad car, it just lacks that USP.

Peugeot unlike VW realized people just want an electric car that looks good not an electric car that shouts "I AM AN EV AND I JUST WANNA BE DIFFERENT" in everyones face. The EV 208 and 2008's are one of the most popular EV's in my neck of the woods , VW EV's and their rubbish infotainment are just not a thing.

The French do 'Frenchness' better than anyone else.... .....can't argue with that, Yorkshire Tyke ....!!!

The e-208 is Garbage,, as you pointed out the steering wheel is so small on the e-2008 that both cars must have had the interiors designed by a car hating nerd, the steering wheel has to be set at groin level to be able to see the binnacle, I could witter on about Peugeot, give me Renault or Citroen any day.

It would have been better to understand what the new motor and battery bring, what the specs were. You have been more inspired with other cars! I wonder why you prefer the Avenger? It does the job but there are better cars at a cheaper price. MG models beat it hands down, the newer Chinese makes coming on the scene will steal its target market. I think calling it Geoff is a bit harsh, at least it doesn’t talk sh**e
