Mike Marino Oh be quiet pathetic Cry baby, I know your likely upset because we buttfucked whatever your team is during the season but there's no use in hating on the best QB of all time
+Jake Isnt Russian its just a bad Message for the kids that manning my using performance enhancing drugs. What year was he having it sent to his house? Oh yeah, that year. Give him time he will choke again this year. Hopefully he can make it until next week, that is how it should end for him, yeah next week afc title game.
As a Broncos fan, I still feel it was a little unfortunate that the Broncos only won one Super Bowl in the Manning era (mainly because of the defense) due to a monumental choke against the Ravens and by getting slaughtered by the Seahawks. But I really enjoyed the Manning era in Denver. The last four years were really fun. Thank you Peyton for choosing the Broncos and happy retirement. GO BRONCOS!
Its the curse of the orange jerseys in SB 48 lol but yeah I felt like we should've won more but our defense wasn't great yet as we were still adding all the playmakers to the team.
GO BRONCOS! I definitely feel like we could have won more, and I think him leaving is what ended the Broncos super bowl era. He was a leader. Even when he was hurt during our super bowl year, he still helped us win games. Maybe he can become an exec one day
The failures with both Tebow and Manning had the commonality of John Fox. In the Steelers game we scored in 11 seconds, and Fox took a knee with multiple time outs and Peyton Manning needing a field goal to win over the Ravens. If you see the soundFX from the Tebow/Bears game you her how he is telling coaches that they cannot play conservative any more - that they have to go win it. Manning was so good that Fox did not drag him down too much, but still being ousted in the first round of playoffs twice and 2-3 in the playoffs, as opposed to 3-0 under Kubes.
You just don't get any classier than #18. I was born in Indy and been here my whole life, and when he left and made personal phone calls to all of the local sports media people that had covered him over the years to thank them....that just shows you his class. Gonna miss him, he is a great asset to any community on and off the field.
Peyton Manning is truly a class act. It's hard to find anything to dislike him. Unless you use beating your team. Definitely in the top three of all time regular-season quarterbacks. And this comes from a Patriots fan. I'm glad he picked the Broncos. He is just not a great cold weather quarterback. That's why I was a little surprised that he chose to go to Denver. Granted they are a first-class organization. I wish him luck, except when he plays the Patriots.
As a lifelong Bronco fan who was raised in Indy, I know how hard it is to find that "post-Elway" QB. The fact that the Colts have another 10+ year top 10 QB immediately after Manning is astounding. Manning is living out the rest of his career with an excellent organization and a more well-rounded team. Nobody lost in this, but people need to realize Manning has moved on from Indy. He will always be iconic to Indianapolis, but we gave up any "possession" we had of his total legacy when we dropped him.
We actually did improve our secondary this offseason. Tracy Porter is easily an upgrade over Goodman, and we now have good corner depth in Drayton Florence and Omar Boldin. We also still have Chris Harris, who was a tackling machine last year, and, of course, Champ himself. Plus, the Colts have a HORRENDOUS defense (2011 showed it) and Manning could still take them to the playoffs each year.
Being a die hard Bronco fan, I still cannot believe how LUCKY we fans are to have Peyton as our QB!!! We have a great D-fense and the O line is protecting Manning..love how the team came together this season!!! #1 AFC seed..playoffs in Denver's own back yard..Don't wake me if its a dream... :) Go Broncos! YOU GOT THIS!!! :)
earthpart3 Favre also has 11 losses. Peytons about to get his 2nd so check your facts. Its a team game. By the time he retires he'll have EVERY record except interceptions thrown. Amazing!
4:30 Rich got excited that Sir Peyton Manning knew he was a michigan state alumni... that is class right there... mr. peyton did his homework and that is why he is great, because he WORKS AT IT!.....
+Megan McDaniel Yeah, he be learning pocket passing from this legend... oh, well so it goes. Let's be real only 4 QBs would possibly start ahead of Peyton... Brady, Rodgers, Ben, Brees and even then I'm only confident about the top 2 and even then they might alternate halfs.
W for Denver. I remember this was controversial at the time because Tebow was hyped up and Andrew Luck was coming up on the draft, although we had no chance of drafting him.
I'm glad he ended up here in Denver, but you guys looked good this year. You guys had an amazing draft, a great coaching staff, and Luck will continue to improve so Indy has a bright future ahead of them.
Would've loved to see Peyton play for San Fran when we were hot. I think we had the pieces to go all the way at least once. Now we have the Hayne train.
It was a team effort, there were a lot of factors. The Broncos had the game won in the last minute of regulation, and the secondary blew it. While it was a team effort, most of the blame falls on the secondary.
They couldn't give him the long term contract but he would have had a better chance short term to win a Super Bowl with San Francisco. That 49er team last year with Peyton Manning at QB would have been scary!!
I came back to this cause it’s been almost 10 years to the day we signed manning. And idk if your still a active account but wow that was crazy what he did for denver
I felt like San Francisco would have been the better move do to fact that they had a stacked team almost every position was coveted. 2 super bowls instead of just one for Denver. 49ers should been his number 1 decision.
I love Peyton and he has done a lot for the Indy are most people will never know. That said, 19 mil a year is ridiculous. Nobody is worth that and that kind of ridiculous spending is why the "average guy" can't afford to attend pro sporting events. Hell, even college ticket prices are getting ridiculous. $60-$150 a seat for big 10 game tickets? INSANE.
He puts them in contention year after year. You have any idea how much the teams make in TV alone? If anything Manning should get 40mil a year. 19 mil is 'only' a mill per game. You're not factoring in how much a WIN is worth in this league. Big difference between being 13-3 and an 8-8 team.
The Broncos went after Peyton to win now, not to build for the future. And they're doing a good job of that, they're 7-3 with a easy schedule ahead. They have a good shot at a 1st round bye. He may not be around in 5 years, but every he is around he gives them a legit shot at the super bowl.
Lmao at this guy.... John Elway,Terrell Davis,Champ Bailey,Jason Elam,Floyd Little, Steve Atwater,Gary Zimmerman,Randy Gradishar,Shannon Sharpe,Rod Smith, . Should I name 10 more
sammy doutt sure all those players are there but between 1999-2012 , Denver was plagued with bad season . I mean sure Plummer was alright but he left lol...
man, I totally forgot that the seahawks had made a bid for him. I'm glad they didn't win the manning sweepstakes but it's fun to think how different the landscape of the NFL would be if that had happened. I've heard it said Russell Wilson likely would have ended up in Philly....so that means Peyton's decision not to play in Seattle is the determining factor between the Eagles having a solid qb for the next decade plus or going through 10+ qb's over the next decade as is now the more likely scenario.
+Daniel Curtis The year the Broncos played Seahawks in the SB, Peyton was setting records for passing yards, tds, etc. If you put him on that Seahawks team with that defense they probably go undefeated. Heck Put 2013 Peyton on this Broncos team and they probably go undefeated.
Broncos: Number 1 ranked team of 2012. Von Miller tied the sack record for a season. Our defense is strong. Broncos only lost to Ravens in double overtime by a field goal. On the other hand, when Broncos went to Baltimore they won 34-17. That's an 11 point differential against the Superbowl Champions. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, that's all that is.
Colette Gray His second on two different teams without Bill Belicheck? Oh and it would be the best season for an nfl quarterback all time. So yeah, not that big of a deal, but at least they're not going to be watching the superbowl this year, unlike the patriots.
rota cetle no the super bowl is his top priority, its just that i think deep down Manning thought it would click better in Denver and obviously it has.
+rota cetle Think money, WRs and O played bigger factor. Think he was a huge Elway fan so he couldn't resist imo... he didn't want a game manager type roll in SF even if it meant 1-2 easy SBs.
Too bad no one associates him with that anymore. He is now known as a Bronco. Everyone is all about Luck in Indy...they threw Manning away. And I bet they feel silly now.
Nick Bianchi Oh please. He lived his glory days as a Colt. He became famous as a Colt. And he will always be one at heart. He will never leave a legacy at any other team the way he did as a COLT. Hands down. And you know that too, like everyone does, you just want to be bitter about knowing where his heart truly belongs.
Timber180 Really? You are pretty clueless aren't you. Peyton urged Irsay to release him and take Luck because he knew he would not be playing very much longer and he wanted the Colts to take advantage of their opportunity. No one threw him away and no one feels silly for releasing him. When Peyton was first drafted he told Irsay "You would be stupid not to draft me" and before he was released he told Irsay "you would be stupid not to draft Andrew Luck". It's how the game works and Peyton won't last forever and you will soon find yourself without a QB back at square one. Oh and by the way, I guarantee you people still associate him with the Colts. EVERYONE knows where he came from.
mwright166 I am actually not clueless and I am not going to fight over the internet with someone I don't know. Irsay was tired of him being on the bench cause of his neck problems and they considered him old and wanted to bring in a new young QB. So they literally THREW him out like trash. I still stand by what I said. Yes Peyton had great days in Indy, but he will be remembered as a Bronco. Sorry to say for all the sad Colts fans who still live in their Manning era. Maybe he'll be remembered as both? We don't know. But I'm done here.
he made the wrong choice. if he went to san fran he wouldn't have had as good receivers but he would've had one of the best defenses in football, and they 49ers would probably be a dynasty right now. I'm talking multiple superbowls.
look, peyton manning is the smartest, most dedicated quarterback on that field, and denver is a dedicated team. Dont think that an injury will hold him back.
Couldn't agree more... Demaryius Thomas is gonna have a break out year considering that he is a possession WR that has great running ability, that's perfect with Manning's quick passes play style, same with Decker
I agree with everything you say but Champ Bailey is an amazing cornerback and it kills me to say this as a giants fan but I would say that Revis is the best cornerback
actually its hard to tell either way, in the time that sean has been a full time head coach his regular season record is 1-0, so its pretty hard to judge
2012-13 they had the all around best team in football- he probably wins the super bowl 2013-14 they were even with Seattle for the best team- possibly another super bowl 2014-15 they had all the pieces they just needed their qb to lead them(manning would've done that)-another possible super bowl 2015-16 3 straight amazing seasons and maybe all their players don't retire/leave, manning getting old. They'd be in a spot like Denver is in right now (playing in the super bowl) I'm not a San Francisco fan but you can't deny they had an amazing thing going with Harbaugh
Tom Brady is an amazing quarterback and the Patriots are the most dominant team in league history....However, even Tom knows that Peyton is the best quarterback to ever play the game. A true field general and master of offense.
Dude, Champ Bailey Von Miller. GREAT PLAYERS. Broncos have a good defense. And hey Eric Decker, Demariyous Thomas are good wide recievers. Peyton is a good fit. Broncos have looked good. They might win the superbowl in a few years or less!
Imagine he went to Arizona !!! Larry Fitzgerald would become the greatest WR to ever play in the NFL, if he can put up 100 cathes a year and over 1,000 yards with Skelton he can do anything with Manning
Mind I point out he is entering his second year... That is rookie year had no mini camp and that he was basically thrown into the NFL and he still made a HUGE impact! It is only his second year with a Jack Del Rio coached defense... Mind you Del Rio did get his JACKSONVILLE defense into the top 10, imagine what he can do with Denver. Von is a sacking lb and a damn fine one, I mean no disrespect, but before you call him trash please look at the fact that HE WAS A ROOKIE! Not even at his prime
Your QB got injured and is watching from the side lines and the backup QB who never touches a ball on the field plays better than he does.! Lmfaooo When will Peyton have more rings than Russell.
The Ravens postponed Ray's retirement ceremony until the Super Bowl in which they beat the piss out the Niner's and their halfback who sometimes throws the ball.
