@@pgraiders272 no. Yall look at Peyton's rookie year and see mistakes. You have to understand Peyton didnt just throw a bunch of picks. See, a lot was done in losing efforts and some typical lumps But he Called his own plays from the jump. Consider every rookie since and before Peyton, Calling your own plays from day one, thats basically unheard of in the SB era. Rookie Peyton was 1st in the league in Attempts, 2nd in completions, 3rd in pass yards, and his RECORD BREAKING 26 TDs was good for 5th in the league back in 98. Favre threw 23 Picks and was in the SB the year before... When Peyton flashed it was brighter than majority of the Hall-Bound Vets that dominated the league at that time. Overall Id say 7/28 werent his fault the rest are either just amazing defensive play or a slightly inaccurate enough throw in a tight window. Still harping on ints has always felt stupid to me. Every QB is capable of throwing a pick on any of their attempts and if all their bad throws got picked then we’d see them push at least 50 interceptions. However the same can not be said for TDs as they still show about 80-90% of the actually throws a QBs made good enough for a TD where as for INTs it’s more like 40-50%. Not only that but if throwing an int is the exact same floor of every possible play a qb can make. Then that means qbs can be distinguished by the max length of TD throw they can make. And there probably was never more than 3 qbs you can name who can make as many big throws as Peyton Manning even as a rookie. And that’s all that should matter. 3700yds 26TDs as a rookie > 28Ints as a rookie. In 98 that’s probably the equivalent of 4400yds 33 tds today.

Yeah Peyton made a lot of mistakes his rookie year, but his WRs, RBs and TEs bobbled or tipped up a lot of these INTs. That is partly on them.

Sir, you are probably referring to Super Bowl 44 played in Miami between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints who both advanced to the Super Bowl after winning their respective conference championship games. Late in the fourth quarter Tracy Porter picked off Manning to put the Saints up by 14 and effectively seal the game at that point. In all reality I am unfamiliar with what you have and have not seen. Just throwing out a wild guess...

@@robsmith961 That I am The onside kick at the start of the second half was a ballsy move by Sean Payton And if I’m not mistaken about 1998, Manning’s opposing QB in that Super Bowl was in his second season at Purdue located 65 miles northwest of Indianapolis

Thats why i remember most qb 's sitting for at least a year with a clipboard and learn by watching like aaron Rodgers did. Unfortunately farve wasnt that great of a mentor but usually the older qb shows the young guy the ropes and what to do as a nfl qb. I mean i dont blame farve for not wanting to train his replacement when he still had some good years left but that generally what was done
@JWD1992
@JWD1992 8 месяцев назад
I swear I think Rodgers learned all the ways not to get picked off because Favre put on such an INT clinic, haha. They are such opposites in that regard.
