The Minagho fight is actually really easy on Unfair with Ember. With the mythic power buff you ensure that all enemies will fail any saves they make (unless they roll a 20) you just need to use slumber on her, and then coup de grace and the fight is over.

The single best advice I can give for most fights in early game is to use a heavy 2h hitter with Rowdy+ Vital Strike as your carry and use an alchemist to spam infused True Strike on them. If you want to use companions, Nenio as Alchemist is a solid option. Seelah Rowdy using 2 handed vital strike with true strike infused will hit even the absurd requirements to hit on Unfair and those hits can 1 or 2 shot most enemies. For defense, spamming Protective Luck on a tank is incredibly effective. The selective grease strat highlighted here is very useful too.

For those of us who have experienced Unfair ; probably the best video you have done till date. Apart from difficulty, what i dont like about unfair is that, it really pushes you to hire mercenaries for specialized duties. I prefer to play only with story companions. Was a real head scratcher for me; doing Chapter 1 & 2 with only story characters.

This is great timing. I always play on Core now but thanks largely to your builds and strategy guides I'm finally starting to feel ready for a bigger challenge. I was considering trying Hard next time, but now I wonder if maybe I should challenge myself with Unfair instead.

I think Hard might make for a smoother transition. Double damage taken on Unfair unfortunately can be VERY annoying early and even some of the mid game before Chapter 3, because the reality is the ruleset really wasn't made with that in consideration.

@@cRPGBro I'm a little torn. It's no doubt smarter and less frustrating to go with Hard. I am still tempted though to just dive in at the deep end and see if I can handle Unfair. Similar to taste testing a really spicy Chilli pepper. I know it's going to hurt, but it could be a fun challenge to myself. I need to finish playing through the DLC for the first time anyway, so I've got a little time to decide.

Hosilla fight is very difficult with Lann in your party, because of second phase. You are rolling for initiative once again and Hosilla often aim not the closet enemy (pet), but Seelah or MC. Proper positioning is crucial and unavoidable for this fight.

I learn something everyday from watching guides. This game has just alot of things to learn from mechanics, combat, etc. I didn't know that a Thassilonian Specialist can have 2 slots on his favorite school of magic. That's something. Can you make a guide out of this as a support-nuker build perhaps?

Yep, Pathfinder is really a learning experience! Thassilonians were very fun in Kingmaker but I think outside of the early game in Wrath, currently they are somewhat outclassed by Exploiter Wizard due to higher DC. Sadly their unique school slots CANNOT be used for Mythic spells like Necromancy Lich ones or Angel Conjuration.

Awesome video as always. I'm hoping you'll do the Ancient Sarkorian Ghost fight, that shit absolutely confounded me on my first playthrough on daring. Also the Regill gargoyle fight. I'm about to start a hard playthrough and I'm not looking forward to either of those.

For the Minagho Fight, u can cast Grease where Minagho is supposed to spawn before starting the fight (actualy before interacting with the Ward) and, when she spawns, she will istant be tripped :)

Thank you! I have saves ready for everything Chapter 2 wise from my recent Aeon run. To get Wenduag to help you if you recruited Lann, simply pick the Demon Mythic Path option in the dialogue before the fight. You'll still be able to go for the Angel Path later on if you want.

@@jackjack8639 Notably if you pick the Demon Mythic Path option before the Hosilla fight, you will not be able to get the defensive buff from the apparitions in the Tower of Estrod before you fight the cultists which may make that fight harder.

Hi there! Always glad to be of service and that my videos are being helpful. For the Alchemist surrounded by numerous mobs, you have a few different choices: 1. Delay Poison Communal on Party + Stinking Cloud on enemies to CC most of them 2. Use the door of the room as a chokepoint, and bait the enemies into following you, this usually also makes a lot of the cleric enemies waste their Channel Negative Energy ability as you "run" away from them. 3. Selective Grease to CC the mobs at the chokepoint too, the important part is that you kill the Alchemist as soon as possible beacuse his bombs deal AoE damage, the other enemies can wait (or will be CC'ed by spells).

A bow vital strike with true strike infused is an easy way to take him down fast. Alchemist infusing true strike onto a hard hitting Rowdy with Vital Strike is one of the most OP things in early game.

I did kite the water elemental on unfair with Lann around the table and it took like 10 minutes or so because he only hit it like 1 in 5 times or so but eventually he went down 😁

Selective Grease at the door is a nice way to deal with the Mimics, while for the Alchemist, it's best to have Resist Acid Communal and also either rush for him if the Mimics get knocked down, or break his line of sight and force him to go to the door to attack.

How are you affording mercenaries so early in Act 1? They are quite expensive on Unfair, the mercs + all the supplies you are recommending is a bit tough to get right away. I assume you're doing it towards the end of Act 1 and just using companions before then?

I pretty much just sell almost everything I get that I don't need. Act 1 gives you a lot of rather... useless weapons and such that have crappy effects like debuffs on criticals except the weapon has very low crit range of 20 only at that point etc.

@@cRPGBro I sell a ton of stuff as well but I still don't know how you would be able to afford 2-3 mercs that early without cheesing. The only way that makes sense is if you are using the XP mechanic to only give XP to active party members, keeping your MC level 1-2 and then recuriting them all instantly. Otherwise, it's literatlly not affordable.

Why didn't you use Ember or Darean as companions, it would be much better than using mercenaries and they could help with thing or two, especially hexes, I don't think you need mercenaries for playing on unfair, even skald is really very very reasonable choice for melee based party.

Daeran sadly cannot acquire a pet at Chapter 1, and he would only learn 3rd Divine Spells at level 6, which to me is only achieved at Gray Garrison so the end of the chapter. Nenio could be used instead of the Thassilonian merc, but I'm not a fan of her starter feat selection, especially for early game Unfair. Ember can certainly be very useful but only if I wanted to spam Protective Luck + Fortune and cheesily extend them, which to be fair, would have made most battles over in 1-2 rounds since Fortune alone is massive on all characters. I kinda wanted to this guide without relying on that, which is why I didn't use her.

@@cRPGBro Yes, I understand your objectives, but it is always nice to bend the party around the original companions. The absence of pets could be crucial, but even with fewer pets you could live. The idea is to use the original companions at maximum, so Cam and/or Ember and/or Dae and/or Nenio, all together could help you finish the act 1 on unfair with all the optional bosses, but it would be less smooth I can see that.

I'm not big fan of mercenaries unless you really want to be OP because of minmaxing and superior party composition, so don't see that wrongly, it is ok, you did well, still I think it is better to stick with companions rather than mercenaries.

Great video as always. I have some slightly off-topic questions... What profession could you recommend for a devil mythic path? (personally, I found it weak and half-made by owlcats, but maybe I'm missing something) are there any options for a neutral and evil paladin-ish character? In classical DnD there is a blackguard class, but evil only, and I did not find anything like that in PF:Wrath.

Not really. The hellknight prestige class is basically a lawful evil "paladin" but they're nowhere near as good. Otherwise inquisitor, warpriest, divine hound hunter, deliverer slayer and crusader cleric are probably the closest you can get thematically.

It's in the dark basement of one of the houses at the Marketplace in Kenabres.

It's easy to miss because it's naturally invisible. One of the dead bodies has a scroll of see invisible on them. It'll attack once you see it, otherwise it stays hidden. It's a seemingly empty basement with an athletics skill test to clear a passageway, but every time you try the athletics test you just take cold damage without rolling (the demon attacks you each time you try). There's a good longbow behind the barrier once you've killed the demon.

Assuming it was because he has divine hunter lann, so can get outflank on the woof for free and may as well make use of it

That is because my main character for this Aeon run was a Divine Hound, who can get Outflank at level 2, it is a rare case. It's also why I say for high BAB characters they CAN take Outflank earlier, such as 5, but ONLY if you have other party members to can also get it earlier to make use of it 😀

Honestly, just sell most of the gear you find, as it's not exactly great besides some of the unique Glaives & Bardiches. The Flaming Dagger you can get from an NPC at the Tavern after a Persuasion Check for example sells for a pretty penny.

Level 7 should certainly be more than enough. Just remember to ambush it by Charging before battle starts for some free hits, and don't forget to prebuff fully before, including with 1 round/level buffs.

If you are on PC, just get the bubble buffs mod on nexus mods. All pre-buffs happen in one click of a button.

With Camile and Ember evel eye hexes I wasted 8 hideous laughs and none of that hit. 4\8 magic pen did not work with 50% chance 4\8 will savethrow with 50% did not work Owlcat game is all about random

On Unfair, DC spells can be tough to hit, there isn't much to be done about it against some of the tougher optional encounters who can have very high saves. Thankfully starting form Chapter 2-3 you have many ways to overcome that, but early game there isn't much you can do outside of Hexes.

Don't worry! Unfair is really different than the rest, and 2x Damage Taken can be quite annoying. I honestly prefer Core and Hard. But in a game like Pathfinder series, it's all about learning the mechanics and best synergies.
