PGA Tour 2K21 Review 

I asked my uncle to get me 2k21 (as in nba 2k21) but he got me pga 2k21...I have no clue on how to play the game so I'm here

When the hell are they gonna have Happy Gilmore and Shooter Mcgavin as playable characters? Would be a huge selling point for the game.

It's weird, I've played most PGA tour games since the Amiga days but I can't watch it on TV & I've never wanted to play on a real course. I'm simply not a golf fan but I've always liked playing video game golf!

Still not as fantastic as Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge.

There's something he didn't mention about the difficulty, the default difficulty for online matchmaking is the PRO difficulty by default so if you plan on playing online, you might as well just play it on pro difficulty 👍

I used to love the pga tour games back in the day. Started off not knowing a thing about golf but after the games I had a new found appreciation for the sport and watch it when it's on.

Would love to see a Seniors PGA Championship, with all the legends like Els, Singh, and Jack

I feel like this is a solid base for them to build off of in future years. Secure more player, course, and brand licenses, continue to improve the graphics and presentation, and this can potentially be amazing. Let’s just hope they don’t cancel it after one year like EA did to Rory Mcllroy PGA Tour.

I miss Tiger Woods on Xbox and PS2. Making your own golfer with their own unique swings and animations and leveling up their skills to the point of you being on par with professionals was a lot of fun

I have to say, these golf games have really gone down in quality. Licensing is always an issue, but Jesus. Compare this to something like Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12, or any golf game after 2005. It looks muted and unappealing.

Who’s checking out the review before coping it on PS plus?

If they had licensed majors (especially Augusta), the ability to play as the pros in the game and their mo-capped swings then this would be a must buy for me. I appreciate the sim nature this game provides, but it’s definitely missing the arcade elements that the EA franchise had. Hoping future iterations include some sort of player progression system, more licensed brands/equipment and a larger variety of official courses instead of just the TPCs. Definitely looks to be a step forward from The Golf Club games though.

I liked PGA Tour 2004 cuz it had a bunch of courses and tournaments. Didnt care for later games because EA focused more on graphics and less on gameplay.

We're so convinced 2K can do football, yet they have bloated their NBA game, they couldn't get the NHL right, they botched boxing, baseball was a mess and now they throw their name on golf.

Why does PS2 and PS3’s PGA Tour’s have more of human like/real graphics than current gen? It’s crazy that, bc developers didn’t have the latest and greatest technology available to them, games actually looked more authentic. Miss the old PGA’s

After reading varying reviews of this game and playing The Golf Club games that were frustrating and disappointing I decided to take the risk. It takes a few rounds to get the right 'feel' of the swing and even then you will be punished for errors which is exactly how it should be. This is easily the best golf game since the Tiger Woods series. I rate it a solid 9/10

To be able to play limitless golf courses and create your own is awesome. This game is getting better each iteration which is something I cannot say for Madden...

This looks to be a very accurate simulation because much like in real life, nobody cares about women's golf.

I have the 2019 version. Love the game play in this but hate the set up. You can't upgrade clubs or attributes. The clothing selection is almost laughable. I want to be able to upgrade clubs, upgrade my player stats, choose tour options and possible work different tours up to the top in career mode, etc... 👎👎

Oh for heaven's sake. Points off for lack of WPGA? "Out of touch?" Seriously? Look up the games that include women, like FIFA, and tell me how many actually play the women's matches. Actually I can help you: on PS4 only 6% of all people who bought the game ever played a women's match. Want to know why they aren't the focus? Because the average gamer doesn't care.

I miss they day of Tiger Woos PGA tour games with the goofy matchplay campaign and all the unique swings. That was the stuff that really sold me on the games.

Is anyone else annoyed about how bad the graphics are? Looks like Rory Mcilroy PGA Tour has better graphics, and that was released in 2015. Especially that the main game mode, career mode, seems unfinished this is disapointing

It's literally the difference from feeling like your on a real pga tour and feeling like you've died and your punishment is to play the same course over and over.

How does pga 2k21 keep escaping the wrath of microtransactions and casino like other 2k games?

“No woman players” Doesn’t realize he’s reviewing PGA2k21 and not LLLLLLLLLPGA2k21

So I started playing this yesterday and already finished a full PGA tour. First step was you need to finish in the top 125 I think or win 3 tournaments. I won the first 3 but a huge margin like 14 under par for each round. The game mechanics are too each. Also it is hella boring. The commentators have like a dozen lines that they keep repeating over and over again. After you win a tournament you get some XP points towards the next level of which I have yet to figure out what the advantage of being a higher level is. In general this game feels overly flat, there is no depth to it. Not sure what is really missing but it definitely needs more courses. You should be able to select your golf ball type from a selection. When you win a tournament have some sort of awards cut scene, at the very least if you win the full PGA tour. What is the purpose of winning money? My player has approx 45 million dollars but nothing to use it on. Would be nice to have a turn based option for tournaments. So you hit, and the person on the same hole as you also hits, and back and forth based on distance from the hole. Training is a little lack luster. In my opinion does not really go into enough detail about chip shots. Driving range could be more entertaining with options for targets, or have it encourage you to hit a certain distance or whatever.

id like to know how much golf these devs actually play, because no way are "tour pros" rolling out 8 Irons 15 feet.

Mediocre experience they should've bite the bullet and brought back Tiger and called it tiger 21 would've been more profitable. He cheated on his wife so what? That's his personal business. No one gives a darn about that shes a gold digger anyways. You can't even play with the cover athlete what's the point??? It's only a my career experience and has no cut scenes and doesn't even have pebbles beach on there. So borinnggggg

30 tournament victories is the problem with this review and humans that play this. This isn’t an arcade game, you don't putt with the flag in and golf isn't easy and arcade. Online and with most assists off is the key. Putting takes getting used to and is a bit wonky. Even pro mode is extremely difficult for players who have been playing these type games for 30 plus years and owned every iteration of this game. The calibration isn't great and as usual you barely covered gameplay. Just modes and leveling up. This is a usual......get out the review quickly for your and their company. I could actually give a real review, but time isn't what these overviews, not reviews do.

Matchmaking is horrid, online play with friends is horrid. Dont expect the creativity that 2k comes out with other games. Expect "the golf club" re-skinned with a 2k start screen

This game is very frustrating. I dont hate it bc its fun to play a round or 2 with your friends but outside of that theres no reason to play the game. Theres literally no progression unless you care what kind of pants you’re wearing. This game is worth about $30

PSA for those who are getting it for free on PSplus. VSync is default set at 30Hz. Changing it to 60Hz in settings makes all the difference.

I’m disappointed with it. Just the little things missing that made the older versions more fun such as the power boost by tapping “x” and also increasing the spin speed and angle. And the menu to play with mates is just annoying and fiddly!

No women’s tour? So what. If there was a market of interest it would be there. That’s why no o Ed screaming for WNBA layup game.

So if the actual gameplay is the best golf video game, how can you knock it all the way to a 7 because of a lack of pro players and female tournaments? It is the first year 2K has been involved with it. I like Golf Club quite a bit and this is the next incarnation. Just seems a bit tough on a game score because of added options. I'm happy they continue focusing more on the actual GAME

Played 36 holes with a friend last night at launch, and I absolutely loved it. The game is just fun. Period
