Sounds fantastic you explained it really well. I love the comprehensive customizable clubs and regarding the balls, buying with virtual currency won't be an issue because as the grinders know, your virtual currency soon adds up. It's a big excited YES from me.

Hey Crazy - awesome presentation. Nice and clear and to the point. Its still really confusing to me (in my 70's) but the more of these I watch am sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. Fantastic overview. I think the golf balls are going to be fun. If they drop packs and we can buy with in game currency, I can't imagine the balls having more effect than the skills or club fittings. Plus, if you can just use a default ball with no boosts, then who cares. Feels to me like extra detail to make me feel like I do when I golf IRL and pretend that I can tell how much more power or spin I get when I bring one brand over another.

Thank you for this video! I was wondering if I get for example the iron boost that boosts my shots from the sand (beach bum), will my sand shots also be better if I use a sand wedge instead of an iron? If not, a lot of these seem pointless because they are for specific clubs that you wouldn’t use in certain situations

Back in 2013, HB Studios created The Golf Club with the concept to make a golf simulation game. Now add 2K and TW and welcome back to arcade golf. Hope they add a slider to shut off the arcade fun stuff off for the players who play Legend Mode True Sim Challenging Golf.

Very good Andre. I can only imagine how many times you had to stop/start recording the vid to make it as clear as possible. Not too worried about the golf ball as it looks like the stats balancd out for the most part, plus it will depend on the type of course which ball is best. Maybe for a links a stock ball might be better with the ground game more in focus where as a stadium PGA tour course the legendary ball works best. Will be interesting to find out. Looks like the archetypes is going to allow designing to be more varied with bunker/hazard placement and sounds as though with short game more difficult then green areas can be designed more subtlety. Really looking forward to the game coming out.

I think it's going to be fascinating to see how the meta evolves as the game progresses. I too, don't like the golf ball sleeves but that's where the industry is now. Whatayagonnado? I've never been an online player anyway, so I honestly don't think it will bother me much. I'll play all the incredible courses people create, and do a career in MyPlayer. (shrug) Not sure it will affect me at all.

Great walkthrough! Feels like default starting point will be power archetype with skills and fittings to bump up irons and short game. That's my feeling anyway

I suspect the Powerhouse archetype will be the meta in TGC Tours etc. where the players are good enough that they can absorb the higher difficulty just fine because they'll still nail those swings. Outside that niche, there'll be room for all sorts I suspect. If I get this game - and the moment I heard "you cannot buy fittings" I became much more likely to - my instinct is that I'd plan on shifting to the Powerhouse archetype as I dialled in the timing for this game specifically, running with something else before that. Possibly Greensman for the putting aid so I can drop a few bombs to keep me satisfied in that learning curve ;) Then I'd probably focus my skills towards my irons initially, as improved all-round approach shot play will always be useful.

You mentioned swing path had to do with grey slow/grey fast but wouldn't swing path affect the forgiveness of how straight you pull back/push forward rather than more tempo stuff? Just want to clear that up for people. Also, saw on someone else's video that the P7MC irons have a 3 iron option, previously it had been 2K/HB clubs only that had a 3 iron.

I like the fittings because it rewards the more serious players. Of course I don't know which ones to use just yet. I'm using the woodsman but the lack of power is really bothersome. I may have to pay 500 VC to change up.

Can you play conservatively and get a reasonable score, or does it feel more random … not to be answered necessarily… just curious

You can still score well with the base stats, not an issue at all. What I wonder the most is exactly how much all these skills and attributes matter (other than distance). I wasn't able to test enough to really get a feel.

For apparel I'm hoping that there's much more variety than just different patterns and colours. Having scores of different patterns (textures) and colours just didn't do it for me. It came down to "Oh .... yay .... I unlocked the blue shirt ..... uhmmmm .......yay ...... I guess .....". I'd love to see way more varieties of clothing styles (not textures but styles). I'd also like more silly styles (e.g. Hot Dog hat, Elf shoes, Scuba gear, witches costume, spaceman costume, alien costume, etc.). Those would be worth unlocking. Unlocking a new color for a T-Shirt is yawntastic.

You can only create one golfer, but you can easily switch up skills and archetypes whenever you want.

The distance on the powerhouse archetype kinda worries me. I imagine the longest and best fittings will add 20-30 more yards at least. I bet people are going to be creating 8,000 yard courses in this new game because of this, lol. The consumable golf balls aren't ideal, but like you said, if you play enough, we should have more than enough to justify spending VC on them. I just don't want to have to constantly switch between balls every other round depending if it's competitive or not. Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the cosmetics and clothing and stuff, if you get to it.

That's my initial concern too, but it is significantly tougher to keep the ball in play if you max out your power stats. Time will tell with later builds though.

Canuck, you said that it costs 500 VC to reset the skill points. Does that mean, if you apply two points to the driver for instance, you cannot reassign one of those points to the irons at a later time? Or is it 500 just to wipe to a clean slate?

I personally don’t like the new player attributes n such. It just seems over complicated a little too much. Not like real golf . As a longtime player of golf games and real golf we never needed a special attribute or whatever to drive the ball straight or have enough power to play from the back tees . If you were good and could swing good you can play. It’s that simple it’s only about the swing meter. I’ll stick with 2k21 gameplay. But a very good explanation video of the new game . Roll boost skill is self explanatory and goes for any other stat, what it does is when that boost goes active which is when using a wedge and have enabled it, it grants a bonus to compliment the golf balls roll stat when using a wedge. What the roll stat does is allow for a little more roll out which is based on what balls, clubs, fitting and stat builds are being used combined with base stats chosen. Basically the game increased the actual feel aspect by allowing this extra customization to further simulate real golf better in a videogame by adding these extra specifics. How drastically this changes the feel from 2k21 is yet to be seen until getting some rounds in seeing how you need to adjust. These vids are helpful at preemptively getting a heads up. Side note: where tf are the driving irons 😂 atleast a flippin 2 iron man cmon 2k. Can content creators and everyone lobby that hard plz

I haven't seen/read a single mention about any updates to the actual swing interface. Based on this my guess is that zero has changed in regards to the swing motion still NOT being 1:1 real time? 2K21 is essentially the same as a meter swing, you barely move your mouse or analog stick down, stop and the back swing continues until you move the mouse/stick upward. I find it sad that a current gen golf title still doesn't take advantage of a real time swing motion. Especially, when this was available over 20 years ago in great golf games such as PGA99 & PGA2000, then a few years later in the Tiger Woods titles from 2003 to 2008. No wonder they opted to introduce an actual click swing option, it's always been there:(.

I was hoping the archetype system would be more fleshed out, maybe even have it be like NBA 2k myplayer where u have the archetype and you can only be so good in so many skills but you start out very low. I would've been ok with a system like nba 2k for attributes, would be fun to start bad and get really good. O well, this game will still have way more to it than 2k21

Fittings: if you fully fit your Callaway driver…and you switch to Taylormade, does it come over. Or does it stay with the fitted club. I hope it stays with the fitted club. So you have to get more fittings for your new club 🤞🏿 Additionally drops is kinda lame. You should have to buy them with earnings. Unlocking clubs seems pointless if they offer no benefit other than graphics. Don’t care about that. How about clothing. Fixed color options or can you set your own colors. These guys keep managing to do weird stuff. Sell balls, balls have features. Buy them with earned career money. Their choices are so bizarre.

This stuff is just a complete f'n nightmare. This is the kind of BS that we have to deal with just because of TW. There is noway to be consistent at all. The more I play this game the more I hate it. There is no way I'll be able to play Kinetic in TGCTours. At this point I'll be lucky to qualify at the lowest CC tour level. I can start rounds 3 or 4 under in the first few holes and then be 3 over at the turn.Seriously frustrated with this game. 2K and TW have completely ruined the greatest golf game I've ever played..

Only 50 points to use out of 126 possible slots!? You can only fully buff 2 or 1 with minor buffs on some or the rest. That seems kind dull. I would have built it with 3 possible maxes with 4 possible, 1/3 buffs.
