Well,if you don't know all the UK Garage genres focuses on 2 types of beat, some even on more,such as grime. Future Garage is even more new than dubstep,so it has full rights to use same beat as older genres,because it was influenced by it.
after listening to this i think i will never be able to listen to doctor p, skrillex, trolley snatcha, borgore, etc, with the same ears... real shit ear, fucking timeless music man
I might be one of the few, but I tend to like both the orginal DUB as well as dubstep and even some brostep songs... you know what, fuck it I just like music for what it is, MUSIC!!!
I totally forgot that I called this "dubstep", but it was 4 years ago and I've been just about to meet future garage, which I haven't know before, so sorry for mistake ;)
I've always considered this a quintessential Dubstep track. The definition of Dubstep wasn't always so narrow, and this came out at a time where terms like "Chillstep" and "Future Garage" didn't really exist. To quote Phaeleh himself - "A few years back the term dubstep covered so much music, where as now I think people are a lot quicker to come up with sub-genres for whatever reason." Dubstep used to be a very fluid term, that covered a lot of different vibes, and I would definitely call this Dubstep.
Whoah. Just got this my self and I'd never heard of Phaeleh before. My god, this is beyond brillant, it's absolutely PERFECTION! Who is Phaeleh? Any chance it could be a moniker for MJ Cole? I mean, think MJ Cole + 'Future' and there you have it. Amazing track. Instant fave.
@HalSinestro burial, synkro, martyn, kode9, jamie xx, 2562, pariah, darkstar, ben UFO and cosmin TRG are all pretty similar artists....if you're into phaeleh then i definitely recommend the labels hyperdub, night slugs and hessle audio.
@be4ter93 hehe know em both - that Burial and Four Tet collab has kept me company for quite some time now ;) You heard Lee Perry -Exercising (Horsepower remix)? One of the heavyhitter icons of dub meets founders of dubstep. Really ethereal tune, that.
