There is some misinformation in this video. Pharaoh hounds have no connection to Egypt. The dog featured in most Egyptian hieroglyphs is the Tesem, or sometimes the Basenji. The Pharaoh hound originated on the island of Malta, of which it is a national symbol. It is considered an ancient breed, as its genetics have remained unchanged for approximately 3,000 years. Pharaoh hounds can be quite active, but, like Greyhounds, they are couch potatoes and do not require intense daily exercise. They are easily suited to indoor living as long as they are mentally engaged (of course, all dogs benefit from regular exercise and it is recommended). Paraoh hound weight varies from 35 to 60 pounds in rare instances. They are intelligent and independent, but are very trainable and can be conditioned to accept strangers and children very calmly. Yes, I think they are pretty similar in temperament. Pharaoh Hounds are generally relaxed and observant, so I think as long as you train them well and socialize them often they'll get along with others just fine.
Yes, it is critical that all dogs excercise, especially hound dogs like this one, to avoid health problems. However, taking your dog for a good run once a day is sufficient, so long as your house isn't too cramped

I think I do too. My dog looks like a ridgeback, esp in the face, but no ridge and he's so skinny. He eats more than my other dogs combined and he runs laps thru the yard like a greyhound. He has that fancy walk/ trot also. He def doesn't have the temperament of a ridgeback. His temperament is amazing, whatever he is! Totally chill and obedient. Very animated and cute when he wants you to notice him. I may do the genetic testing at sometime to find out for sure but he def fits this description perfectly. A super easy, eager to please, super handsome boy!🤗🤗
i have one female and she's the most lovable being. she loves water and she's swims different than other dogs, she stretches her front legs and make paws of them with such elegance and grace!! she's very fast and prefers duck to rabbits.. along with a white chateau pegau ahaha just kiddin! she just loves to hunt in the middle of the vineyards when she goes for a stroll :x
interzoneincorporate how are they with other dogs ? I have an Italian Greyhound, so they share the same temperament and trainability ? I find my Italian Greyhound harder than my other dogs to pottie train. (I have a Pomeranian and a poodle),
