Phasmophobia Is DYING and FAST 

It's dying because it's boring when there's no new content, and they take forever to release an update. There's nothing in the game that really makes people want to keep playing imo, and there's been so many good games that came out these past few months, that I feel like people are taking a break from games that they just don't want to play anymore. Phasmo will rise again when the new map finally comes out, perhaps when the new horror 2.0 update does. But, that could be years from now. They could fix this if they allowed people to create mods. Equipment mods, map mods, new ghosts etc. But they won't do that. They claim it's not possible.

I stopped playing because I got tired of waiting for the new map they teased to be releasing over a year ago. I was excited about it, and I just got tired of waiting.

Phasmophobia is 100% one of the best games I've ever played. I absolutely love the game. I was so excited to play it when I first heard about it in October of 2020. Since then I've played for almost 4 years and have 2,000+ hours on the game. Console has absolutely messed up everything for Q3 and Q4 of 2023 and the entirety of 2024 right now. The devs aren't the same that they used to be. In 2021 we had a massive update in August, October and then December. The devs have started to neglect the amount of bugs in the game, neglect pushing content, and constantly shoot themselves in the foot with announcing/teasing stuff way way way too early and not being able to live up to it. It's been a year and a half since we got point hope teased officially. We still don't have it. We've had the same stuff on the same roadmaps for the past 2-3 years. We are getting teasers of farmhouse reworks and it sucks that I can't even get excited for it because I know it won't be for a long long time. The amount of vacations that they developers take is insane. The work trips they all take is like 4+ a year and are gone for weeks when we don't get updates. I was watching Shuee01's stream the other day and she said the update for a minimum won't be out for another 2 weeks because one of the devs are on vacation right now. Honestly I just want more updates, I want more bug fixes, and I want better communication. I want the first new map since 2022. I want a new ghost for the first time since 2022. I want more consistent and bigger updates that isn't just a new shop that is somehow worse than the ones before, or small crosshair modifications. The last major update we got was like August 17th, 2023. I know that an update is hopefully near and will be within the next month but it's hard to be excited when I see how small it is on the trello board and realize this is all we will get until Q4 of 2024. I just want the devs to be better.

For me it's been the lack of content or even patches. There are bugs that make the game not fun, the seasonal events are just meh anymore, they made the store too complex and while I understand that they are trying hard to get it on console, they have kind of just forgotten about their original audience which was pc. They could have updated some old maps just to give us something new. Highschool is left in limbo, they have talked about updating the cabins but they could have done one at a time just to release something, and they focus so much on lighting and the such. These are just my 2 cents. Not hating or anything. I just wish they would push out small updates so that people don't give up on playing the game.

It sucks when the players are more passionate about the game than the Devs seem to be and I completely agree with both you and Insym, I personally feel like there is so much right in the Devs faces that seem like simple fixes at least from my stand point. If the tier 1 is better just make those the tier 3 and call it a day maybe make the glow stick brighter but done, why dick with this beyond the simplest solution. They have so many assets in old maps you could easily slap some remixed maps together like I could take the Maple Lodge Campsite map and rework it into another small map that would be the entrance to a nature trail easily and it would be something. I will say that it seems they hired a few more people and thats great, IF it gets anything done.

I haven't played since the Halloween 2023 update. Once I completed the challenge it felt as if there was nothing left

I once commented on a reddit thread about how the game feels boring now and we desperately need new content and how the updated store is not qualify as new content for me and I think most players. I received a not so nice response from CJ that was extremely condescending. It felt so icky to me that even tho I love the game, I uninstalled. If you want to interact with the community, fine but be professional about it. It just reeks of "I was picked on in school and now I get to be the big dog" and all I can say to that is YUCK. They made a buttload of money off Phasmo and are banking on making a buttload more money when it comes to consoles which is why it's priority #1 over anything else, the money went to their heads and they just don't give a shit about the game anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if it does finally comes to console and all support stops completely after.

Meh game too boring. feels like its was a scam kept players motivated to buy it. promised us for new contents then completely abadoned it. 4 years still Early access same models anamations and sounds. No Thanks not waiting years just for a map. had my fun time to move on

a lot of people left many points i wanted to make, but its FACTS. i mean i love this game, i dont regret getting it when released. but they announced a trailer on game awards its coming for consoles, then a fire happened and thats why it wasnt coming. now this year, no news no nothing. no announcements also. they bring this roadmap of updates which same one last years, but with no dates, so they can release whatever they want, this year, next. or two or even more years apart. no new maps, no new content, no new ghosts, its always the same thing, get the evidence , the ghost type and be done. thats it for now. also if you re done with prestige, there is nothing else new to do. is all the same. and i see why a lot are dropping to play this game. also console players has the right to be mad and ask for the update they promised, also again which they announced on a game awards. and they never gave any news rather than it s gonna be better , and thats it. while cj and his friends are playing lethal company, phasmo is going downhills. CJ take fucking responsability of the game you created please. if you really wanna release the horror 2.0 as you said you wanted, then take control and do the damm job. they attack other games like demonologist, so below , or forewarned and say , they re doing wrong but phasmo is doing better. hypcrosy to me as phasmo is going down badly now.. its all cuz NO CONTENT at all. not saying yeah release it every day or month, but still after those graphics update we dont have anything new at all. if they gave more content that would make us play more or be like oh wow, a new map, lets go, a new ghosts or new ghost , lets see what he does. but we getting nothing. at all. all they do, is gave us trophies to shut us up.... thats it folks.its sad when a game was in its peak and went down, i mean why they take away things like lights flickering everywhere , thats was cool , also when you get into the ghost or the ghost where close, you get these loud heartbeats and would get scared. thats was cool. it makes miss the old phasmophobia. also they judge demonologist from getting off beta to full game release, when its not their judge or problem, its those devs of that game, if they want to go full release, why not., its their game not yours, take responsability of your game just. you ve been for a lot of years in beta, and keep promising that scary big horror 2.0 which is taking so long as the console release...sorry for such big comment baron. i totally agree with everything you said, i wish they start listening and gave us more new content that would keep us interested in playing it.

I haven't touched the game since I learned the CJ was 100% fine with someone in 'sharing x-rated pics of an ex' with people without their consent ... which is a crime. Not impressed by either of the Dev's "Work Ethic".

Phasmophobia honestly shouldn't be ported to console at all. I've tried using a controller and it felt too hard to play.

I have an amazinc PC and Maple Lodge runs like complete ass, yet I can run games like Ghost of Tsushima, Assassins Creed, God tier modded Skyrim with rarely any issues. I only play for random events or with friends, but otherwise I'm just burnt out and frustrated.

Phas used to be one of my favorite games, chose that over anything else. Held that game on a pedestal, compared to most other games. Now for the past year, I can barely be bothered; I only now go on for seasonal events (Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc) for the trophies. There's no more excitement or anything fun about the game. It's beyond predictable, and gets boring after a while (also annoying with bugs and ghosts not behaving the way they should). You can tell the dev team has given up completely; once they got their money from all the sales they most likely thought their job was done. In all honesty, once Demonologist devs can figure out their bugs and crashing issues, that will most likely become my new go-to game. At least they have a dev team that shows that they kinda care about the content they constantly put out, always making it new and different for their players (even if it does get a bit predictable with the basic jump scares).

I quit playing when all the public lobbies became full of wannabe phas streamers that treat anybody that hops in the lobby like absolute dog water…. Would take me a half hour just to get into a decent lobby without getting immediately kicked just for existing

man i love this map ive played vr and pc and its so fun but so boring after 150 ish hours seems the defs just dont do alot and they dont let moding help with less content truly unfortunate

Honestly, I just wish the devs would put their egos aside and listen to the fans. They need to get over themselves and allow mods at this point. If the devs have given up, hand it over to the fans. I stopped playing because it’s a game that the team doesn’t seem to care about and if they don’t care, then why should I?

You know what would fix this immediately? With very very little cost to the devs? Mod support. It's crazy to me that they refuse to allow for mods just simply because they want to see Phasmo grow in their vision (their words)

Seems like one of the reasons why people are less interested (in any game, really) is that there needs to be an understanding that there's a difference between challenging gameplay and frustrating gameplay (tier 3 thermo currently being an example of frustrating gameplay).

I hate the new UI for the shop. My girlfriend just got the game and has fun with it but it's a game we only ever play as a group never alone. It's like raft, it's boring alone

Only reason I stopped playing is because I’m waiting for console release so I can play with my wife. The group of people I used to play with ruined my wedding so I no longer talk to them. But we only have 1 laptop and it’s not meant for gaming. So I am waiting on console release so I can teach my wife and play with her.

I haven't played in quite some time. Turned it on last night and nothing has changed except the equipment screen is now more confusing.

A lot of games go through similar stages, only to get a revive once an update comes out. It's the norm for people to stop playing a game for an extended amount of time cos they feel like they've exhausted the content that's currently there. I'm sure once the update comes out, this won't be any different from that and pick up. That said, these updates are getting further and further apart which is crazy when they have like what, 5 or 6 devs now? You would think once you add more people to the team updates would be fairly regularly. Updates to the game when it was just DK was like EVERY 2 or 3 weeks so honestly they don't have an excuse as to why it's taking them so long to release updates. They should be more open and fourthcoming when it comes to updates to the game.

It was really bound to happen at some point, at the 4 year mark seems about right for this type of game.

My friends and I love Phasmo and I got flamed on Reddit recently for even asking about when the new update was coming. Been 3 months! Virtually zero contact from devs on steam. Got to keep people engaged, that is what it comes down to. Insym said months ago they need to expand the dev team now we're seeing a slowdown as they did not move quickly enough to meet growing expectations. Also the fact that they just *cannot* get the store right after 3 or 4 tries is super annoying.

I haven't played Phasmophobia since they did what they did to you - banning you and such. But I also have no incentive to return to the game either - because when I go back it'll be the same old thing. Once you learn the patterns and behaviors of a ghost - it stops being scary. There's no jumpscares anymore. Demonologist is far better for that than Phasmophobia. Plus, when I maxed out at lvl 99 (Prestige II), I chose not to go on with the Prestige because the Tier 1 items are so difficult to use that the game wasn't fun anymore. There's no surprise anymore. There's no.... passion behind the project. I was SO excited for the update and then it came out and I was just disappointed. I will probably uninstall the game, and never play it again. I have 1000+ hours logged in the game. I'm done.

Whole new player base and sales or Please the people that already played. Easy business choice

I love Phasmophobia. It is a great horror game. The problem is that they haven't released anything major from the roadmap since Ascension and Maple Lodge rework. They have Point Hope coming out that was teased long ago, but anything else from the roadmap has been severely delayed, the grind is terrible if you want a certain Prestige badge, etc. New ghosts or ghost reworks (like Spirit and Yurei) would be great to help improve the state of things along with more map reworks, tweaking the EXP values, etc. I appreciate the recent accessibility update! I really do a TON and it's made some things more enjoyable! But hopefully they get the ball rolling on more bigger update items...

Thanks for the update Baron... It is a shame to see Phasmo go this way as I too really enjoy the game play. Hopefully they turn things around but they just don't seem very motivated to do... anything. Please, if you give us nothing else... let me delete photos!

I'm hitting the 350/400 hour mark and I'm getting burnt out. About half of those hours have been streaming it. It's sad that I have to use Dixper to feel excitement or thrill out of the game anymore. I've owned it about a year now and for half the maps to not be optimized very well playing offline, let alone streaming it, is terrible. I know I don't have a great PC, but the point still stands of people with better machines. I can run COD or Once Human, but Phas glitches out and lags out, it's pathetic.

I use to love phasmophobia. I have had so many experiences with people coming in an being sexual an worse, but you kick them an they constantly report an harass you every time they see you made a lobby, even after you blocked them an reported them on both steam an phasmophobia. I am there to catch ghosts with some wonderful ghost hunters. I am not there to be harassed an nothing being done to those that do it so much. There discord is absolutely toxic. They do not care for there players an that shows.

It's truly so interesting how far off from the roadmap they are. Half a year people were genuinely hyped about the future changes announced. They are definitely slacking off. It does not take this long to make new maps, or to make changes to maps. Even with a small team, they could've made tonnes of new things to the game already that at least keep people engaged. I don't know if a feeling of perfectionism is the problem, but I think most people would rather have a bunch of broken silly maps, than nothing new at all. The only excuse would be that there's an entirely new game in development, but then transparency about it is required.

I am not a big gamer, before Phas I only played Minecraft. I have just about 400 hours in Phas over the last year and a bit and absolutely LOVE this game for its many levels of gameplay. It's surprisingly deep, an amazing problem solving game. I guess they think the addition of console players will double their player base if not more, so maybe that's why they have thrown everything at that aspect. I worry that the game won't progress in depth. All I care about is that the game continues to be enjoyable at all levels, with something for even the most experienced players as well.

Great video Baron. Phasmo was my obsession for more then a year. You taught me tons, loved it, and then they started the "big changes". The game just felt off as soon as the new gear tiers were introduced and I just played it less and less and less, and now I barely run Phas once in a month if that. I haven't played phasmophobia for long, but I really love the game and find it unique and thrilling. I can't disprove anything you say, since it's all fact-based, but never the less, this is just really hard to take.

I love this game; been a longtime watcher and only recently got a playable PC a year ago and I feel like I jumped on the bandwagon too late. There’s too many quality of life bugs they aren’t worried about fixing but not first without making promises of new content that never comes or the release of updates that make me feel like they could be spending better use of their time… I agree with everything you said, but of course, wish none of it were true. :/

I was waiting for the prestige update for a couple of weeks: playing till 140 and then i was like fuck it. Im going to prestige. It Just takes too long! Also the player models etcetera...ive played the game since april2020 and ive loved it ever since but lately, its been kind of boring...you get the weekly and yay you are done for the next week...insym even started ghostgambling which is fun but takes of the excitement and fear we once had in the game. Hope they turn it around

Yeah, I love Phasmo and I think they really have something special here. It sucks see them be so painfully slow with content. As someone who hates the large maps, I just play the same 4 or 5 over and over again. Can't do that forever.

Imagine they brought in a ranked Mode where u play 2v2 on who gets the ghost faster in a perfect run. Would be so fun xd

It's about time someone made a video about it. I've only been playing phasmo since December 2022, and I kinda speedran the content by April, so 4-5 months. And when the ascension update hit it was such a disappointment, especially followed up by god awful lighting for however long it has been and many bugs still unfixed to this day. I've been constantly trying to spark discussions on this topic on reddit and discord since September 2023, but the circle jerk everywhere is insane. But the numbers don't lie, the fact that the game is gonna dip lower than it ever did is saying something. The gameplay has been stale for years, new content either is shit or adds so little it doesn't matter. And the console release... GTA 7 will come out sooner than the console release with how lazy the devs are and how incompetent they are as well, judging by phasmo's god awful performance and tons of bugs that magically come back, paired with a small dev team that expands at a snail's pace, if not slower. I've always knew that insym plays a major part in phasmo being alive, he pulls ridiculous views and that benefits the game a lot, and it's so disrespectful not only to him, but to every single phasmo creator, to not update the game and ride the waves made by said creators. And to not even communicate properly. Last dev blog was in February by the way. It's pathetic.

i would love custom maps possibility for this, it would give some insane replayability for phasmo, also, i got so tired to grind for the equipments

I hope once the new ghost models, player customisation and console release will help because I really do enjoy this game. I play it at least a few times a week.

They need to release it on console already

I last played since was after the ascension update the tier equipment absolutely destroyed the game for me, i played 2 matched and the entire joy of the game was gone and haven't touched it since. Sadly i don't see me playing it again and close to completely removing it from steam.

Sadly players bitch and complain about stuff, and when the devs “don’t listen” to the players, who think they matter and are right, players quit playing. Mean while I still play it. Though i do prefer Demonologist more, despite not playing it a lot and due to needing more space. We know Demonologist takes twice as more GB than Phasmo. I’ve recently reinstalled Demonologist.

Talking about how glitches and bugs are coming back. They told Insym that there are some bugs they can't get rid of because it would literally break the game. To me that says they don't know how to program.

the equipment rework just was bad. it made it unfun and the shop and such is such a pain to deal with. The new campsite is just a bad bad map and with adding it they removed a map I enjoyed. Just didn't give me hope of future maps with how poorly it was done and set up.

Love the game, But it does get stale after awhile whenbyou have the same handful of maps. Should be at least 2 maps every year imo if not more. Def seems like they have lost their lose for creating the game or getting too comfortable. But I do hope you asked isnym if you could show that private convo

The main problem that I see with the game is that the vision they have for the game doesn't match the size of the team. There's only a small team working on it, and so when we do get patches they're buggy then they spend all their time fixing all the bugs which slows down further development. They want to create a huge, complex game with a small team so just nothing happens. Me & my friends haven't played this in a while, because the game isn't replayable anymore but just repetitive and it needs new content. Not even the main partners are playing the game much anymore, and it's sad to see.

Ahhhh yes...the illusive Pointless Hope map. That will save the game for sure.

I completely agree! Imo what they can do to somewhat boost player count and satisfy a decent group of people is release phasmo as a game preview on console. So at least we can play it and update as needed or at the very least give us more communication on what the status is for console. As for pc (note I'm not much as a pc player) what they can do is add small stuff that ghosts can do like make a ghost bang on the wall when it's dead quiet or add something like whispers that only you can hear. I feel like those micro details will go a long way instead of having to add a whole new map and new ghosts/models. Let me know what you guys think.

I know I’m late to the comment section here, but I stopped playing for the most part bc the ghosts changed dramatically and it was so hard to play and effectively determine what the ghost was; and acquiring that knowledge AGAIN on tools that were wildly ineffective was just not something in which I was interested. On top of that, the newer equipment (as you pointed out) wasn’t even worth purchasing in most cases. Then the promise of the console version being pushed back and pushed back and pushed back? I raffled off an IOU to one of my viewers for the console version bc I was so excited to play with my friends who didn’t have PCs…but I still can’t play with them and even if I could, I’m not sure I’d want to anymore. The final straw for me was how they treated content creators. That, to me, was the last straw. To add insult to injury, not giving deadlines bc you don’t want to be held accountable? Hello??? I loved this game and it gave me a community when I first started streaming and it gave me such joy to interact with that community. But now? It’s a shame bc I’d love to return to it someday, but why would I when the devs don’t appear to even care about their community? Nerfing good tools so that people will use the more complicated tools? Fixing esoteric issues like lighting when people can clip through doors during a hunt or stand on top of tents? Reworking old maps when they’ve been “teasing” the same map for over a year? Making a prestige system with no actual rewards? It doesn’t make sense and that sucks. 😢

It's was great game, but it's blatantly clear to me there is big Ball and chain dragging Phasmo to a craw. Devs refuse to do anything easy to pump new life into the game like give us Asylum Classic back, give us some stock maps or multiple ghosts per session..... But they do like to do things the HARD way, and often when you insist on doing things the hard way; you find yourself getting frustrated and looking for excuses to take breaks. Bespoke maps like Sunny Meadows is great, console ports is a great idea... but there's a big reason Indie devs often use stock assets for the former; and contract out outfits that specialise in porting on the latter. And I fully agree with paid content DLC also being better than what we currently have to look forward to.

Well. Dontcha need a lot of variablity to maintain replayability? Even just a lot of backstory to the ghosts or another avenue for solving the cases or an open world rougelike chasing down the ghosts. Anything like that would make it continue better. But even then. It might just be a single play game. Thats fine, plenty of games are single play maybe boot it up again later but you cannot depend on online play, and a random enemy/play-mod/item to make a game have replay value.

I remember reading articles that a huge factor in why the console updates are delayed was because of their office fire they had and it caused a lot of setbacks and they are having a hard time optimizing the game for console VR. I’d like to hope they aren’t slacking on the game and roll out some good content. I haven’t played in a while but this game is a lot of fun

Ghost Watchers and Demonologists maybe forewarned too but for me not is doing well adding new ghosts,maps,events,hunts patches and items and its amazing

I've just been waiting for console and have seen they haven't really released a big update for a while but i think that point hope is coming soon but that probably means console won't come till at least October probably

What the game really needs is a modding framework built in, so we can add new houses, ghosts etc ourselves. Then the devs would be free to work on QoL

If the devs actually stick to realistic timeline for the new content as well as console release, I am sure the game would see a resurgence. I know many friends on console who want to play Phas.

These Developers seem to be lazy to me. as soon as they were planning to release on console they should have expanded their team, i am sure they have the money to do so, unless they have been silly with their funds lol

I dont know if you are wrong or right, all i will say is, 1st, I hope you asked Insym if you could air a private conversation. 2nd, Ive been playing Phasmo for almost 2 years, but I do lose interest in it (ADHD), unless its like the Easter challenge, then my interest returns. I dont care about prestige levels etc, I just enjoy the game, I like earning the trophies in the events.

After a couple of hundred hours playing it and know the ghost well , i have to admit that i was hoping for something. Its scared me for some time but now i dont get afraid anymore, i wished for new ghost or new animation models, ghost that walks on the roof or pass through walls.. I think the new spirit box voice update was a big fail... Before the spirit box voices was scary, now it's a real joke. I'm happy with the new lighting effect but i wished we could exorcise the ghost ... Just finding th ghost and get the hell out is really dumb, while letting all precious equipment inside and paying for it. If only we could exorcise the ghost , and get a discount for stuff we bring back in truck,, and have certain ghost that can pass through walls like the deogin by example... omg that game would be perfect!

Ive been playing for several years but since the progression update ive kind of stopped. I got everything up to T3 that i wanted and stuck around for the seasonal trophies but thats about it. Im hoping they've got some supprise extras releasing with point hope (like when they released a 3rd ghost without talking about it with the deo, thaye, moroi release) but im really not sure at this point. Horror 2.0 would really rejuvenate my love for the game but thats so far away at this point. I really hope they havent just gotten used to being complacent with the games success.

Honestly, what’s putting me off playing is that there is clearly some kind of memory leak kind of problem that makes it run like garbage. I love the game but it seems to behave worse each time I boot up.

When Phasmophobia came out, I was one of those players that spent all my free time playing the game. I quickly got 300 hours into the game in the first year and a half the game was out. (Quickly for me with a house full of kids LOL.) I haven't touched the game but once a year since 2022, why? Just as you said in this video, there hasn't been much to keep my attention stuck in this game for a long while now. Changing the shop, and making levels to equipment, who cares? New maps, new ghosts, those are the things that keep players interested in the game. Unless Dk starts to listen to what the fan base is looking for, the game will continue to die off. And that makes me very sad. Those last updates they had, you know the ones, making levels for the equipment and such, felt like they were only doing them so that the content creators were happy with the way they were heading in the game. Meanwhile, for the average player, the game got overly intense and just much harder than it ever should have been made. Our voices couldn't be heard over the top of creators like Insym who were shouting from the rooftops that the game was entirely to easy and that a map could be completed in just seconds. Meanwhile we normal players just wanted to be able to go into a map, use the equipment to find the ghosts and figure out what the ghost was by using the equipment, instead of needing to know how each ghost acts or sounds in the game. Evidence, thanks to creators became obsolete, and it turned out to be less important than behavior. I miss the old days in Phas, where getting the evidence was not only important, it was the only way. For now, Phas lost my interest and have moved on to other games and I doubt at this point that Phas will take back over in my life. I asked for DLC content three years ago, I felt like they could have had a good thing with them back then. Now, I don't know if the majority of the fanbase would even come back to the game.

Baron, I uninstalled it 17 March 2024. I only have ~500 hours in the game, but I feel like I know how to play it effectively and I understand the mannerisms and mechanisms of the ghosts almost completely. I said this multiple times and this is the hill I will die on. This game is shite. It is so buggy that it robs you of your gameplay. This game does not do something it is supposed to do or does not let you do something well. Games are buggy--check. I get it. I play many buggy games. The difference between Phas and most other games is devs consider glitches as part of the gameplay (and lets you exploit it accordingly) or they quickly and effectively patch it out to make gameplay the way it is supposed to be. I will most likely never play this game again if the devs continue this path. I will keep watching you, though, should you choose to push out Phas videos. I actually liked this game but it is no longer fun due to all of the BS that surrounds it.

I play casually with some friends… I got to level 100, with no desire to prestige… and… well when we play , we do the top map (top row) then stop playing

So I started playing in 2020 when it released. Loved the game. My first youtube video was a solo game on bleasedale farmhouse at lvl8. Put 1500+ hours into it. But haven't actually played in a months. I have prestige 5 times and got so bored. I do the holiday events in a few hours then Don't touch it till the next one. It's so sad to say I have fallen out of love with phasmophobia all from the lack of updates and care from the devs for their player base.

I love this game. I do have to say I played it as a cool game to play with my kids. When they released the update with the new tiers it just became too hard. I wish they had maybe a ranked setting or something where you have to unlock the tiers but for the way myself and my children played we would have kept playing if the only barrier to the high-level equipment was cost. we went from playing a match every night to maybe playing once a month now. It's still an amazing game but maybe the update was just enough friction that tipped the "worth it" value.

I do feel the same as you. I've got burnt out with the content thats currently in the game, but I do have a counter arguement. Was the game ever labelled as a Live service? Not every studio can churn out new changes to keep the playerbase invigorated like Fortnite etc.

i believe Phasmophobia is trying to be sold to new any new devs and obviously investor, and i believe there are some internal conflicts amongst coworkers/devs that they had not acknowledged. the only we time this game is going to SHINE is when there are "ghost" event like movie or halloween and other competitors like it (Dead by Daylight and Texas Chainsaw Massacre game somehow only pump a bit).

I just bought the game in the past week, I can already see why Phasmophobia has issues retaining and getting new players and can't imagine I'll be playing it a year from now without upgrades. However, until I burn out of the game, I'll play it like a madman.

Maybe if they treated all content creators with respect instead of being jerks to some and extra permissive to others, people would be more ready to promote the game. I haven't played since that moment, I don't want to support that kind of behaviour.

I hated that they want to port Phasmo to consoles. This shows how greedy they’ve become. Like you said, they sold 10 millon copies, and they want more sales. What better way to sell more by porting it to other platforms. Makes me want to uninstall Phasmo. I like Demonologist more anyway.

I have thoroughly enjoyed learning the game, playing the game and watching the few changes I have been around for but absolutely agree with you that the devs need to be held accountable especially ever since seeing how they handled the incident with you. Hopefully they start taking note and being proactive with content before the game is totally dead but I really hope this game never turns into a dlc money grab in order to keep up with new content they do release.

I just started playing again this past week, haven't played since before the August 2023 update. This new tier system to get gear is awful. The only reason I've forced myself to play is to grind up some money and hopefully unlocking tier 2 gear to play with friends who have not played before and playing with people who are learning is honestly the most fun to me. But outside of just the awful tier system it doesn't feel that the game has even changed much which makes that grind pretty boring. I don't see me playing for very long unless these new people I'm playing with really enjoy it.

Really think the game is dying. They should have never announced new maps or a console release unless they were ready to be put out. I love the game but there are so many bugs it makes it hard to play.

its in a terrible state due to the player base in my opinion. Joined a few random lobbies, "oh he is new kick him". the game it self is fun. but yes they need to get more ghosts or new abilities etc. new map would be great.

I never liked the devs, they always been shady and just willing to lie. Glad everyone isn’t playing this game anymore

The more complicated they made it the less I wanted to play... and now it is just too much for me and I have it in my "Never Again" folder in steam.

I need the PS5 and Psvr2 version

Also the fact that screwed up the console release like why would you give a month of release twice then wait at the last possible second to delay it then now say It'll take a awhile to get approved. They shouldn't have given a date in the first time

I never played it but i do watch you and a few others play it.. but there is nothing new. devs are just being lazy...

Also on their subreddit you can't give the devs fair criticism unless you want to get attacked by people

after playing the game for long, it just became not scary and just not fun.. we need more updates

Devs prioritizing changes in order to force players to play the way they think is the "right way" to play, rather than giving the player base anything new? It's deja vu all over again...

I never got to play Phasmophobia because I’m still waiting for consul, which I think Will never happen so I just turned to Fortnite Phasmophobia maps

the game has glitches. evidence that never presented and ghosts that never were the ghost. the tier system is annoying.

I agree there are less people online and it's getting boring with no new maps or anything else.

I am console player and I want this game to come out soon for consoles players
